Did you have a SPL meter to test your output gain? I really can't see that much of an increase from 2 12w7s to 1 15 Q beside from bad enclosure design for the 2 12w7s especially with all the testing you did with 8 different boxes for the 2 12w7s. lol. OP, what vehicle do you have and do you even have space for an 18" driver to begin with? I agree that you should build a new box for those L7s first before you dish the money out for a new driver and box, but if it was me, I'd have a Fi sub already and not the L7s cus I'm bias towards Fi.

Just wondering if you guys can make a kit for a newer split coil RE XXX? I know your site says you can do 2005 and older XXX but this one's a little different. Your sub is dual 2 ohm so you have to wire to 4 ohm to the audiopipe ap30001d for 2000 watts. Or you could spend a little less for the ap18001d and get 1800 watts at 1 ohm. You won't hear the difference between 200 watts.

That is the breaker of the system. Either learn to build a good one or find someone who can. I don't know if I would trust the shop that doesn't sell the product you want an enclosure for.

That's always been how I think. Just because an amp goes down further doesn't make it better for some reason. I'm in the process of looking a new amp for my dual .7 btl, and it's either going to do power at 2 ohm, or I'll get two smaller amps and strap them at 2 ohms. get the audiopipe ap30001, does 3k at 2 ohms.

Why would you not get an amp to do power at 2 or 1 ohms? Why strain the electricals, sub, and amp more by running it at .5 ohms? That's stupid. For comps for a burp or two is fine but if you don't know what you're doing, don't do it. Also, I think OP should have gotten a 15 but if you bought it already, sorry. I guess you can make it work.
