They used to be at least...

Back in the day, like more than 10 years ago, they were great. I had an Atomic Shocker(?) 15", it was a pretty good sub, but again that was like 10 years ago. I do not know what they have now...

I just picked up a pair of 17 Gen4's for $398 each plus tax... Blue Label Glock prices are freaking awesome...

Ascendant Audio.....Is it coming to a stop?

You're still in SIN mode. The old Atlas were pretty nice pieces. I still have an Avalanche somewhere... -
Deadening the enclosure walls will help SPL by cutting down on the cancellation caused by cabinet emanations. How much? It depends on how the enclosure is designed. But, along with what others have said, you can reap better returns in overall performance by deadening the car. For what it is worth, I deaden all my enclosures. I also have used constrained layer materials (similar to what you are mentioning). I used to build smaller full range speaker cabinets (almost 20 years ago) with a product called Dynaboard. It was a layer of Dynamat sandwiched between two 3/8"-1/2" sheets of MDF. It was extremely dead and made fantastic cabinet walls. It was just very expensive and I figured out how to get similar performance by proper bracing and dampening. What a lot of people don't understand about bracing and cabinet construction is that bracing doesn't remove any resonant energy, it just moves the energy into a higher frequency range. When the range is high enough the enclosure walls can dampen out the energy, it does this really well with added dampening material...

I thought you didn't want to do a bandpass?

Hopefully it will work out for you

Weight will kill you almost more than anything else. And it is tough to keep off if you can't be active. Starving only works in concentration camps, for about a year or so...

Trick is to make a lifestyle change. That is the hard part. This whole loose weight in a month shit is so stupid. I am lucky, my parents were both athletes. I was raised strictly with eating and excersise. I didn't even know my father was a alcoholic and IV drug user until way later in life when I he told me about his past. So I basically went from super healthy household straight into the military 17 years ago. I tried smoking a little, but that was about it. I don't drink much either. But one of the things I have done over the last decade is help people in the military that need to get their physical life sorted so they don't die when they are 50. I know it is tough, but everyone can do it, I have at least seen that... But you can't do it all at once, takes time... blah blah blah...

Like I said, had to just go 100% with PT. That was in 06'. I have been pain free in that area at least the last 5-6 years... Now I am just being a pussy when I get sore because nothing is really injured anymore... I am just getting older and I can tell... I got real serious with eating right about 10 years ago, that, and a regimented workout routine seems to be doing OK... I don't lift heavy either.

Oh, they put me on Celebrex for a while after the Naproxen killed my stomach, same problem... Then 800mg Motrin...
-
Anyway, it wasn't good on the stomach after a while...
-
Mine was the stronger version of Alieve...
-
I think it was spelled Naprocen(?)

I was on Naproxen for almost 6 months, then my stomach started hurting too much, I just hated it. That is when I took the physical therapy seriously and realized I wasn't bulletproof like when I was 21... I really don't like meds. It has been about 2 years since I have taken anything but my annual vaccines for work. Shit I don't even take asprin...

Cheeper than 4 kilos of white powder though. Lol, sure...

I always just thought it was just serious anti-inflamatory. I partially tore my Achilles, that is where I have gotten the shots...
-
I got lucky, but I think things are getting better. 10 pounds of powder is still $278 though, it is really expensive now... Will cost me $340 by the time it is home... At least I can get it.

I stopped at a local indoor range to shoot a few hours ago, surprised to see a ton of powder in stock... 2 hours later, 4 flat rate boxes heading back to CO...

Just be careful with the Steroid shot and don't overdo it after you feel better... My dad has had a ton in his back... I haven't had a Steroid shot, but a few Cortizone shots for injury and I made things worse by getting back at it right away. Everything felt good like 2 days later when all the swelling is gone and you think you are good to go. 2 weeks later worse off than when you injured yourself...

That sucks... Had that happen often from Parts Express back in the day with their cast frame stuff, Madisound, too... I thought things were getting better... My first pair of Tumults were trashed too...
-
I was wondering about that...
-
That is going to get LOUD.

I am not quite sure I understand, can you do a center console sub?
-
Lol, I bypassed the protection on my V12 about a decade ago (just grounded a pin on an IC). It worked great for about a year until it finally melted down the power supply...
