    Went to Car Toys today....

When someone proffers information they are not well versed almost always and everytime will it end up in a bad situation. My post was to try to let people know giving sales guys a hard time for no reason at all won't result in anything but probably someone feeling bad. The other point I made was to condemn BB and CC and UE and most big box places for allowing their staff to spead falacies. I do think regulation and training is needed, and I also think that what BB says is a certified installer is completely missleading.

Whoa champ, I have never said I asked them sir. I said they proffered the information to people while I was in the store. Just a couple weeks ago when picking up an fuse that I ended up overpaying for. I never once said I asked them for help and then they told ME wrong. You inferred that. Again, My point was there is no point in giving sales people a hard time, but BB and other big box places should be ashamed of the information their sales people give out and what they litteraly lie about. If you ask a sales guy about instalation, he should send you to install if he doesn't know, not lie or tell you what he thinks you might want to hear.

I think this is pretty OK. And that really means it must kick ass. For trucks I'm more of a Lift with 30" inch tires kinda guy

Not that anyone has been desperate to know but I think I am going to go with the Epson 1080UB and probably a focupix screen. If anyone here has access to a TON of accousticaly transparent fabric for free or cheep though I could be persueded otherwise. A nice 2.35:1 screen will be great. Thinking about 110" maybe a bit smaller though. No anamorphic lens. I'll just deal with brightness loss and use a high gain white screen instead of my original grey idea. I will try to post some pics, before and after. This will take a while though. I need to find a good deal on theater seating though. They prices charged are retarded.

I vote asymmetric as its always stronger. Damn it Sean... Your ideas got me into trouble in the first place and ended up with me sticking 3" drivers in the damn dash. I was actually just being a dick. There isn't any asymmetric strength difference, I just don't agree with the "don't ask me why" you stated above. Function before form! the don't ask me why was becuase if it wasn't going to be symmetric it would just look funny to me, just the way I tick on that thing. I am a little worried about cutting out metal from the center of the deck lid though, even if I build a brace for the entire thing... SHould be just fine if you brace it.

These Threads always turn ugly...... Ok what do we need to know here. Use the search function, or do a bit of digging please. No time I have ever read that there is a consensus to use 2 different drivers for the same Hz range. It will not work to your advantage. Even if it's the same line/brand sub but different size driver it will not work! It will cause problems, and even if you have the driver already, it's a waste of money, you could sell the driver and have cash for the nudie bar, or towards another driver or amp. A bit of digging would have shown this. After hearing so much resounding advise to do something, why would you try to fight that. In one post that agreed with using 2 different subs, you said you had been waiting to hear that. I understand you wanted it to be true, but many of the verry well educated people here gave you solid advice. The fact you are willing to listen to poor advice, just because you wanted to hear it says a lot about you. Asking why, and trying to research and learn is one thing, but as they say.... "you can put lipstick on a pig".... You can't change reality because you want to. Physics are pretty solid and hard to argue.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I don't know if any wants a review or even cares but saltimbanco was a ton of fun. Lots of laughs, and more participation than I have ever seen at a show. It reminded me of a musical circus. The audio was great and clear and clean sounding. They also used some decent bass management, it did a great job of pressurizing the target center when they wanted to. Cirque always has music as a big part of their shows, but saltimbanco felt more like the show was about the music. One act was percussion of drums tap dancing where the artist used steele balls to add another beat to her tap dancing. There were some amazing acrobatics, as always, but the show was much more about having fun and how music and sounds can tell a story. Comparative? Delerium, is one of my favorites for the visual and music aspect, it's a wild trip. Saltimbanco was more about sound and music, and much less "dream like". Delerium like it's name is like a lucid trip on some weird mellow drug, where as saltimbanco is much more sped up, up beat and WAY more colorful.

one of the best ways to deal with sales people BTW is to let them say their peice. This is usualy most co beneficial. Othertimes, if I'm in a poor mood and really need to buy somethign in person and not on line like I usualy shop for the things I really know a lot about I tell the person I need a CASHIER not a sales person. Usualy, when I buy cars, or electronics I have to tell the sales person I merely need to see if this does what I want, I am aware of the specs, I just needed to play with it in person before handing them my money. They didn't work hard, I don't have to hear them talk or mess up their own sale by saying something incorrect and getting me all fired up.

I don't condone harassing sales people, it does nothing for you or them. I refuse to defend them however. Some are the worst slime ever. I have worked in sales for 11 years. Everything is widgets. EVERYTHING. That doesn't make it ok to spread falicies about those widgets. You say some kid goes home happy with his set up. Sure. But in the case of them using a wrong or second rate fuse, and as before mentioned 8gauge wire to power 2 sub amps, and then a 4 chan too. Well.... They will also tell you how to wire things incorectly, if you ask a sales person. Nice fried VC. Normaly not dangerous but if you have a short, and somehow end up with an direct short, then the plastic sheilding melts... Yeah that will get the copper hot enough to melt your carpet. I have every reason to be mad with BB and other big box stores alowing their employee's to lie. EVERY REASON. There is no quality control with information. I understand why it happens but that doesn't excuse it. It's not like when they lie about what you need to get the most of your 1080p plasma. This could potentialy wreck someones car, or maybe result in them getting hurt. Anyone who has ever seen a wire melt because of an effed up circut knows just gow dangerous and fast it is. There is no excuse.

STS-V is a winner of a car. But so was the S class AMG I was in.... My reason for not even listing them, I felt aged inside it, and though comfy and powerfull, I was disconnected from the road Give 'em hell when you go for a spin sir.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I plan on doing a 2 chan in every room of the house, outside and in the garage. I am SURE at LEAST one will be a nice big huge fostex horn set up. =)

    Welcome to the IHoP

I think I will be matching them with the Fostex that Ryan uses in the caddy too. I hope I can bring those low enough to really make sure the l8's handle a more narrow and more kick butt range. I am also thinking about ditching my alpine 4 chan and getting a sundown. =P it would be nice to have them all purdy and matching, and 100 watts instead of 65 or so.

I have through the fire and flames stuck in my head. I cannot WAIT untill I get some real time to finish my truck. Those L8's will be so sweet. That song sounds like on giant garbled mess on the factory speakers.

    Welcome to the IHoP

well... it comes down to a serious heart to heart, and you need to find out why it worked out the way it did. I don't really excuse lies of anykind or partial truths really, but if you think this girl may be "the one", then you need to figure out what drove her to not offering you the info. Then if you feel she was honest then and you can deal with that, go for it. The only thing is, even if you forgive it all and move on, it will ALWAYS be in the back of your mind. especially with assholes like me pointing it out again. I wish I had more assholes like that when I was growing up. Vladd (Matt right) is pretty smart and i'm 99.9% sure he knows there is no malice. I read it that way myself.

    Supercoupe

How hard is it to tint windows and make it look good. I know a lot of my friends in high school tinted their windows and it looked like crap within weeks. I want to do it, but I don't want anything to look half assed on this car. I have only done it once. And something like that, which you want to last for a long time, have a tint shop do it. Worth the extra money IMO. xEleventybajillion
