I keep pushing my mornings back, and sleeping in with just enough time to get ready for work. I need more morning time and more night time. This sleep thing is getting in the way.

I like you even more now. I think you're a stand up gentleman and schollarly man yourself.

you have to be lying! nope. I can still taste them in my mouth. lol I was excited though.... been thinking about them all day. And my day SUCKED. So it could be a combination of the day and my mood and my hunger that made it so good.

but are they really cajun, i mean, im from central louisiana, i mean smack dab in the middle (st. landry and lafayette parish) and i see "cajun" stuff all the time and its nowhere near the same, even the food in new orleans isnt really "cajun", its all just a big pile of crap so you can buy it, if you want real cajun stuff, come down here, ill give you a place to stay and you can have some of our cooking =-) you caught me. It was more lightly spices and a bit of charred garlic. Most definately not true cajun at all.

Jim... i'm not gonna lie I have to agree. ...I'm gonna say it. These are better than the best hummer I've ever had. And I have had some epic skulls in my youth.... These are that good. Or I could just be really hungry. I think I just ate a pound and a half of scallops or so.....

feck oil. feck economy. feck humping. Nothing matters. I just made cajun/garlic sea scalops, cooked to PERFECTION. Nothing else matters right now. NOTHING. :bliss:

I can really see wood burning for heat/elec and wind being great energy if I was on a farm. But I'm very urban. Just doesn't work yet. I wish it did.

I'll disagree with that as a general statement, I can think of a few exceptions But yes, right now the biggest incentives for RE can't be reduced to an NPV or something concrete and measurable. I wouldn't mind seeing Carter-style tax rebates to help people with the initial investment... I can agree with that. you are right, as a general statement that probably isn't true, but in context I was referancing I won't see a return on going "off the grid" money wise for 25 years, maybe more. If I put that into an IRA I would have better chances.... unless we loose another 1000 points in the market

I do see your point Jim. That is frustrating. I have been looking into alternative forms to power my house. I have been into that scene since about 2003. The problem is there is no return on green energy really. Someday maybe, but the laws of conservation of energy will ALWAYS hold true. No energy is waste free. It's also very costly to set up unless you do more work than most people would be willing to put forth. I wish we would look at wind much closer. Oil has been so good at being a great multi use product, and we extract so much from it and all the by products. When making for chipsets in computers we have more waste than actual chip and solvents etc.. Allowing builders and home owners to be so wastefull with heat energy is also a big one. We should have much more efficient utilities, and appliances especialy when it comes to gas related. I think there are so many other places we could trim the fat before we look at big evil oil.

You made a great point. There has to be a limit though, otherwise, if taxes increase with income ad infinitum, eventualy making more money will be worthless. I beleive it should be a flat % of tax to everyone. That's my personal thought though. Probably wouldn't work in the real world.

I read a study somewhere that a message has to be given 7 times or something for memory to realy keep it. I'm just helping get to 7. =) The Q with BP is good, but realisticaly you will probably, at some point, send a clipped signal to the driver. I think something overly beefy would be the best bet in this situation. Especially with rap hip hop and most pop music. Some recent pop albums are produced with clipped signals in some retarded effort to make it "louder". -

skip the power cap. Get either a BL or BTL if you every thing you might get the upgrade bug. BL should be good though. Skip the cap, you will do better with a new battery, or a new alt. You will spend way less in the long run going that route. Oh yeah, don't forget to NOT buy that power cap. =) -
I can't see that. If you don't like the fact that a company is making what you think is an obscene profit, bypass them and do something different I dislike oil companies for the environmental impacts they've created, but I can't be upset about how much money they're making if I'm complicit in that profit. tree hugger!11!!!

This was another paragraph I intented to type but then all hell broke loose. I think we agree. We just see different sides of it. I agree a bajillion percent. I just don't see much of a difference between him expanding his company and him expanding his lifestyle when it comes to the market place. If he employees 3 people, it's probably better financialy for him. Might get a better return on investment than he would on a porsche. Either way the money goes from him to someone else. when you buy anything you are helping others keep their job. From buying a big bag of bubonic cronic, to buying cement. Someone else lives from what you spent. it's all either goods or services. When you pay an employee, it's just a service. They trade time for dollars. Increasing taxes takes a slice of that money holds it for a while then puts it out. No one would treat a buisness' finance as poorly as our executive branch in the US does. It needs to be cleaned up. I would love a cabin with a fishing lake/pond BTW sounds like a dream come true. That or a Wally power 118.

I love political and economy talk......Wise people talk about ideas. =)

damn I got a TOP last page!

only people who earn above a median have either education, experience, or put in more than their "40 a week". Heck I was making 65-70k a year at 20. Managing retail. But I worked 72 hours most weeks.

my work phone system is down. This sucks.

What I really mean, is it makes no sense to punish those who have more and are growing and expanding to a higher level than those that remain stagnant. I think to reward ecenomic and other growth is more appropriate. Anything but the swelling and corrupting of our current governmental system.

Bullshit. Either way the whole reason behind this argument is stupid. Again, taxing people who try hard to succeed and have "the american dream" deflates that dream. Upward mobility is extremely necessary in our society and if you take it away the net result will be an economic crash that makes the current one look puny. I just say that because I cannot think of any situation where I think I deserve a million dollars a year. I would think of it as a gift. This just comes from my upbringing and seeing my parents work a hard 60 hours a week and make 40k a year from it. The fact that I can use my brain instead of my body to do work is also somewhat of a gift to me, not everybody is naturally equipped to be able to. Yes I have made a lot of good choices that should put me in good positions all my life, more than most people I know. But I would never think I deserve to make 10 times more than they do because of it. Like I said earlier, somebody has to be the trash man. I can't make a ton of money off stock from a company or something without the hard workers in that company doing the work to make the product, likely for 7 dollars an hour. Now I'm all for the american dream, like you say. I just think that's a different issue. I don't see being more heavily taxed as a barrier to overcome. If I make 200k a year and get taxed 33%, then get a raise to 300k a year and get taxed 40%, I'm still making more after the raise. KU. I wish you thought more of yourself. You are worth a million a year, and deserve to not be treated differently but the same as everyone. A million an arbitrary number. Lets stick with it. When someone is making money at that level (in the scheme of nationaly or globaly not that much really) they have a larger influence on the people around them. Even more so if they are buisness owners. Then increase that more if they are property/multi housing investors. Even if they are just a Exec who has a GREAT salary, when he buys a house, it employees many. When he purchases the porsche for friday night through sunday, and then the 4 door S class for the week, Many get paid from that. Increase his taxes by 10% and that's 100k taken out of the market. That porsche dealer makes one less sale. Salesguy working 60 or more a week gets one less commision. Importer gets one less on what he sold. Take away the porsche idea, be more realistic maybe? That 100k is 100k less invested. 100k less into stimulating the market. Here in MN the top 10% or so pay in over 50% of all the taxes. 10% of the people already pay 50% of what the government "earns". Maybe your parents wouldn't have a job if that millionarie we are talking about didn't throw his "extra 100k out into the market. There is also no difference in which tax breaks the poor can use from the rich. Same oportunities, the numbers are just larger if you make more. In fact there are programs to help the smaller wage earner. The only argument for increasing taxes is that our government cant survive with the income it is making right now and they need more money to fix stuff. I am 100% against how inefficient the government process already are, I think that it needs more bright people, and more good ideas, not more money thrown at it. The fiskal conservative in my even thinks that we could tighten the belt on government a bit. Relegeous zeolot conservatives make me as sick as the radical left does. It's all about fasion, and liberal is in style, but no matter what nothing will change my mind, that just because someone CAN lift a heavier load that they should be forced to do so.

What is inexpensive? Ha. Well what I want is to be able to pull quite a few ounces a day. I would probably use it daily. Some days several times. I would also assume the folks I live with would like to have some too. I'm not really sure what I should expect to spend 1,000, 700, 500? I am learning that the grinder is the one thing you cannot skimp on. How easy to use? The Rancilio Silvia is a good budget machine, but really benefits from a grinder like the Macap Stepless. Near $1k for the combo. Thanks! I will look into those and go from there. A call to Chris's coffee is a logical step. I read something on the coffee friend website or something similar. I was looking for chris coffee! I'm glad you mentioned it. I think a few shots in the morning would do me goooooood.
