I can't get anyone to compete for my buisness at a lower cost for the countertops. WTF

WHen you sa PA drivers you mean what exactly? Do you have a link? Also, just FYI speakers in the rear deck won't do anything for you when you have that much bass back there. It will just make things sound worse. If you want a new front stage, throw out your rear speakers, and spend a bit more on the front stage.

there is no greater joy at my work than getting paid to use crapper. SSA is a close second. I remember back when I worked in sales, closing a nice fat deal was a bigger better hight, but since I get paid even if I sit and pick my nose, crappin' wins.

Amp recommendation for aura transducers (bass shakers)
dem beats replied to slim2fattycake's topic in Home Audio
I Love but shaking from movies! I just want the shaking be due to some giant moofers testing my foundation. -
If you can swing the Shiva, do it. It will blow your mind. Othe wise, pick up the cheeper dayton. You should look for a ~500w pro audio amp if you pick up the shiva. Check a local guitar shot or something of that nature. If you get the dayton 15 inch, you could get 2 and similarly pic up a pro amp to power them both. The shiva is a much better driver. So if you can stretch your budget to pick it up, go for it. You will not be dissapointed. I went with 2 Maelstrom-x woofers from the same place. Really great guy with great service. I agree that the MJ ios a good choice also, but it's out of stock.

Did you find a good installer? I need to have my countertops cut for a rangetop and another piece cut for my breakfast bar support. I have the granite, just not about to cut it myself since it already matches what I have. Just to clear it up, that 6k is for install and the rock with a "free" sink. The place I am going warrants there work for 10 years. I can almost throw a rock and hit the place from my house. The sales person I dealt with was not so great but he had 4 customers and was alone. The 2 people on the phone have been great, and the cost it less than Afforable granite. Most of the other places really made a bad impression without even going into the shop, and their estimates sucked. http://www.minnesotagraniteandmarble.com/

I found a place to the pompei granite for 6k..... and there goes the tax rebate. Kachow.

Tommy, How much room are you willing to give up? We can really help you get hooked up! IB might be a great solution. Are you looking for a wild and crazy movie experience, or more for music like rap? I know your not a fan of ported but the peakyness in your room is also affected by the tune of the enclosure. What tuning did you have, and did you try multiple? Are you willing to use processing? If you go sealed, and are looking for a movie experience I would recomend taking some of your budget to smooth out and beef up your responce. It really sounds like your room needs EQing more than just throwing bass at it. You may get more from good processing than anything else. Maybe room treatments too.

My first, I think you should give us a solid budget for the build, how much do you want to spend total? You will have to factor in wood, and other things too. HT. What you need to consider is what you want out of this. Would you rather have an AMAZING movie experience, or would you rather have extremely accurate musical reproduction. I would assume since you mention KMKings earlier, that you are looking for an experience rather that to reproduce recordings exactly as they were recorded. If so the basics are all the same. Large woofer or multiple woofer is what you need. Usualy the large size wins as it's easier to design ported, the cost is lower as it's less drivers, and it's usualy lower Fs and higher sensitivity. People have given you great advice, the dayton 15" with a decent amp will be pretty awesome. I would tune it into the high teens probably, and then you will get more from movies. I'm not so sure on tuning really low, I never have done it. There are many who have though and it works out great for them.

there are much better verry inexpencive options. If a plate amp isn't needed for you, you could go pro audio. Those can be found for a song, especialy used.

I have also heard that there is a real good way to figure out how NOT to pay back the fed on the tax credit, aparently it's 100% monitered by the place that prepairs your taxes. So if you jump to another location when you file, you win! Even more so, if you file inapropriately and buy another house this year, you can get the tax credit again. I would think that this is a horrible idea because having the IRS mess with you is just about the worst thing ever, but the huge gapeing holes in this recent credit sound bad from what a couple tax guys have said.
-
I also dumped a large chunk of cash into tools, and costs for redoing my moms house to rent last year, so I can claim a loss on that.
-
when I say paid back I mean over 15 years. WTF This year it's 8k and you don't have to pay it back.
-
I have to send into state boo. I at least get 9400 back from federal. Holy overpaying in batman. me over pay NEVAR! I claim exempt sometimes. I hate to give the fed my loot sooner than I have to. Married bonus, and then the FTHB credit. 7500 of that will have to be paid back. The wife over paid a good deal though.

Asia is one thing. I far too often find my self in line with what was said earlier by Sean. The EU now has a new head. The last idiot was horrible. The new EU head has the chance to take over. I'm not concerned with China or russia, nothing even close. I have not been to China, but what I have heard from people I know who have been and have family there, they are just now barely breaking into being industrial, much less information aged. They sure can reverse enginear things, but they are a reactive culture, and government. Local power is huge but it's not as global as most think. Fawk I could be wrong.... who knows. I love the discussion though. Matt when your looking for your 3rd world country to live, I suggest Thailand. Close to so much natural beauty. Many other wonders are local too. I would kill to see Angkor, some of the temples in china and the Taj. In Thailand the women outnumber men by a huge margin and to top it off many of the men are gay. The ratio for the single guy is rather stellar and Thai women seem to think they are put on this earth to please man. Definitely worth a visit. This now explains why one of my LT's took mid deployment leave there............ Naw.... he's just there for the history and culture.... My navy co worker said pretty much the same thing Sean. That and 5 bucks will get you food for a day, a house keeper and chef, and you might have some change left over for a pair of lady friends for the weekend.

That is rough! I feel my truck is pulling the same crap on me lately. I feel for you though because I drive a Ford. A bit cheeper to fix I hope.

I think Scott from Fi says its supposed to be 20x VAS For true IB, Qts=Qtc. Generall regarded though as 10x Vas idea but 4x and above you can accomplish it, although it won't be true IB. I'm just going to build a huge vented. How big would a t line box be I wonder....... I'm sure at the end of the day I will just build a simple low tuned box, but since it won't be built for a while, I can live on with these flights of Fantasy.
