Not that it's a Surprise, but that breathing technique added a lot to my shrugs tonight...

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I'm not a hippy. I used to do a similar breathing technique in martial arts before I would have my instructors and students hit/kick my abdomen, and also before diving. Some .mil dude who spent a lot of time in water showed me another similar version. I was watching a news video and I tried what it looked like he was doing combined with what I knew from my other training, and I got my heart rate to go from 84 sitting in normal yoga seated position. And before I held my breath, I was at 114. Sitting and only breathing. If that shit allows him to stay under ice for hours, I'm doing it before every human interaction. It's hippie AF, but I have to tell You, the most elite people all say it's about breathing. My instructors were intense, but the ones who would do impossible feats in front of us, all told us it was breathing. When you are 16-25 that was not a concept I wanted to accept, but this shit might be real. I'll let you guys know if I transcend into another state of consciousness. Also, I did my first 3 point hand stand in a looping time. Even at 530 pounds I could do a round off cartwheel thing, but sustaining myself up for a few min was awesome.

It's amazing because it's more consistent, and the control is better for me. Even if it has a smooth sealed finish. The confidence when I choke up for smaller stuff or harder to cut items is so much higher when the handle is consistent.

Also, for reference, I like a non molded handle. Even that raw waxy wood they use for sashimi knives is great. No matter how much plant or animal gore gets on it I feel I have grip. Even octagons are better for me than a palm swell. https://goo.gl/images/8mAQLt

Brownells or local is my guess! What ever you are doing, let us know how it turns out. I want to buy a rifle this year... only had the optic for nearly a decade... R2, I feel this is all you.

The moment I find I'm bad at something I slam my head against it until I find myself at least not embarrassed to participate with others. I have no reason for this. Fucked up form of FOMO or need to be accepted maybe? Lol

We don't stress over keeping up with people who put vacuums into the word regardless of just about any other quality. That is unless yoh are trying to keep up with the Kardashians! :-D Got that going for us at least. Poor Kanye.

The worst part about goal setting is once it's in Me, my work ethic says 105%.

I don't know, Ryan (both) seem to find exceeding levels of joy living in the moment and even in reflection of those moments. Best car scenario we are enjoying time with people we love.... But upon reflection, even with a mind full of joy, you and I are gonna work on our sous vide game or fill in the current goals there. Some people have also told me there are brief moments where people find something called "inner calm". It's really strange that I don't have a really hard drug habit.

I think you mentioned you don't even sharpen them right? Amazing stuff. I'm impressed with that atitude. I'm always obsessed with finding the best version of anything. It's a sickness.

I would like to elaborate on handles for a moment. Ideally I like an octagon or mild "D" shape. Add your jokes here. Spending anything on a knife if you don't cook is kind of silly. I've had my hands bleed from cutting vegis before , so if a knife makes me feel better, I don't care if it's $900. That said, my chef knife is my most used by a ton, and my sashimi knife it used next to never.

Sean explained it My main kitchen knife is a Miyabi, sandwiched Damascus with a harder steel core. I think it was endorsed by Morimoto from iron chef. It was a good price. I also have an extremely long sashimi knife, and for a butcher knife, I use a Deba Bocho
