Good man. I hope you do get the farm. This is why I am keeping my mother home, and will buy more property. It's my 3rd leg.

Einstein said it mang! Glad to see you put so much away. Me and the W had a LONG talk about our retirement. We both put in between 10-15%. I'm going to open up a trading account soon and scuttle some post tax money into that to help defer down the road costs. I'm just going to stop eating cafeteria food and bring in my own. We also get a FAT pension here. I refuse to look else where unless they can top my salery and come up with the difference in compensation for the pension/matching plan. At least not untill I'm vested. I'm going to give you the BEST advice I have ever heard about money though KU. Chew it, digest it, then rechew it like a cow. Retirement and finances is like a stool you sit on. It cannot work without 3 legs. It NEEDS 4 legs to be truely stable. Extra legs help to brace it. #1 Retirement savings #2 Own your own home #3 used to be SS... who knows now. The rest is something you have to decide on.

WAY TO GO SEAN! That's what I'm talkin' about! If you hustle on the "street" or hustle in an office and put your back into what you do it pays off. It's the law of conservation of energy.

If I owned my own buisness and could get family in, or had a farm... I could work 12 hours or more 6-7 days a week. It's more about making what you do something you would want to do even if you didn't have to for money. I'm not in that place now.

I remember my DM telling me on my 14th day in a row at my store "Think of it as a chance to earn more comission, and be that much closer to getting taxed higher." Jerk. I miss working for him. Lol

BONUS!!! Only good part, your job is interesting, you can travel(gets old I'm sure), and I'm roughly certian that the income bracket is quite a bit higher. Oh and you work a LOT harder too. "I used to be in sales, tough racket"

Word. I need to find a way to make decent money while going to school. I could take loans easily, but I just don't like the feeling of spending money whilst not earning it.

I still caffeinate before bed Maybe ADD isn't a disorder, maybe it's evolution. It's just that too few of us have it so it's hard to comunicate to the rest without stimulants to slow us down. LOL

My sob story isn't really that tough in the end, and even without guidance I can't blame anyone but myself. I stopped being mad at mom and the system a long time ago. Just know if I have kids, I will know about those pitfalls and fight like a pitbull to get them every chance they can get without sheltering them from the world. I stopped being mad at myself more recently. I now know I learned a lot. It's not where I wanted to be, but it made me hungy, and it made me motivated. I would say the cost for this experience was too high, but at least I was able to squeeze some blood from the proverbial rock. I bet many of the guys here can be empathic to the pain of dumbing down to deal with JQ Public too. Plenty of brains on this site for sure.

I found a 99% acurate way to diagnose add/adhd type issues from a past co worker who used to watch teens in a group home. If you drink a coffee or a caffinated soda, and then become tired before it wakes you up, or if you "need" cafeen to sleep. Same if it takes mega doses or empty stomach to make it work as a wake up formula. I was a 2 mt dew before bed kinda guy my whole childhood.

AnywhooOOo I'm praying the wife gets a promotion when she's done with school, and if I can hold down this working stiff gig untill I get another home or 2 under the belt I can either go to school, or start my own buisness full time.

I think it's why I am good at customer service. It's constant stimuli. It's a waste of my talent, my brain rotts and collects dust, but I am constantly forced to change brain patterns depending on who I talk to. And I can always be thinking something else in my mind, or be here.
