affordability is to .338 Lapua as gourmet food is to McDonald's if they had these kinds of analogies on the SAT I might have gotten a much higher score Fair enough analogy. But I *WAS* looking at .50 BMG. Compaired those, .338 is like .308 to .22.

It's SO easy for me to get into. SO easy. Even paper is joyfull to hit.
-
Barring your preferance you made before if you were to build a great .338 rifle for under 2k what would you do? :opens mouth waiting for spoon fed goodness: It's really hard to know the quality from the garbage in this industry. The armalite is under 2k. The opposite end is the timberwolf which is ~7k, but it's the tested rifle the guy in the article you linked talking about the .338.
-
Armalite makes a really affordable .338 Lap. I'm not sure about overall quality and accuracy, but it definately looks the part. I found a website that makes complete custom build though and boy oh boy. Acuracy international makes some sweet units, but $$$$. Sako TRG is spendy too. What do you think about Van Dyke rifles? I heard that name while looking up companies and read something about them making a nice unit.

I really don't like spending money. However I like nice things. It's so hard! Ryan you're bad as you got me looking into custom built rifles now... good lordy. Pretty easy to make that hobby 2nd mortgage worthy.

I'm really thinking about getting the rock BBQ stoker......... Also want another smoker also.... Maybe grill... Thought about a drum smoker/grill for summer BBQ and grilling for huge outside events, as it would be all but worthless in the winter here. Spending 1k on the XL BGE would be tough to swallow though.

I had a feeling you wuz joking. Gave me the oportunity to talk about lactose though. It sucks for spiking insulin. I heard a stud about milk and how the rest of the world is mostly lactose intolerent other than some milk centric tribal cultures. Comming across the boat was hard enough, and if you couldn't get nutrition from milk you might starve. So most original settlers were lactose tolerant. I don't know if it's a true fact, but it certainly sounds good.
-
You will slaughter that goal then! Did you just ask me about milk to because you knew I would type another novel? I say so much because, I don't want to sound like I'm selling some BS marketing such as magic pebble auio snake oil crap.

let me 'splain. No... let me sum up. Great question. Lots of tree hugger gym guys go by that method. It's natural and unprocessed etc. Milk also has some nice vitamins and minerals. I still feel it's weak sauce next to a dextrose/whey based solution. Milk sugar lactose is worthless for what you want. It could actually slow down what you're going for in the insulin response, It's too hard to standardize. All milk also has milk fat even skim, and that DOES take away from what you're going for. Whey gets into the body Whey faster( nutrition jokes). Casien is amazing don't get me wrong but you want mega fast amino acid and whey is king. It also has the best amino acid profile that's easy to get in your body. Eggs are the next best, but you don't want fat so no yolks, and cooking whites until they turn white is a bad idea too. You can buy liquid whites though and that would work. Globally in digestion terms your gut can only take in so many macro nutrients and use them within a given time. I would rather everything be flooded by super helpers than meh helpers. It's all about timing the insulin spike with the hormones in your blood and maximizing what you can get into your cells at that time. Finally and for some most importantly, almost no one can bike for a couple hours and then pound a half gallon+ of milk in the same 5-10 min you can a shake. That means you're not only limiting your digestion chemically because you can't break it down and absorb it, but mechanically all of it's not in your gut. When I started working out I used skim milk. I think it does a good job, but dextrose and processed whey does a great job. And it's eleventy bajillion times easier to bring to the gym or on a bike than a gallon of milk. If a guy had some personal feeling that we must use a "whole" ingredient, milk is a quality option. Personally I feel excluding processed nutrients is silly. Yogurt and cheese is a processed food as is sour creme. Whey is just a by product of the cheese making. No organic hemp wearing hippy would skip his no preservatives "all natural" cheese and organic plum tomato pizza made with non GMO wheat crust. I feel that that atitude is a bit, in the words of Gee Dubba, hiposyncratical.

good ole Glenn Beck He is a top contender for most pitiful republican.

Mkader and Sean. How do you guys think the dextrose/protein is working out? I know you haven't been pedaling without Sean, but do you feel it's working, do you feel like your gaining performance faster than you would without? MKader were you pedaling without anything prior and how's it going now that you are drinking the PWO shake? *************************************************************************************************************************** I thought I would let you guys know about my roomate. He was having trouble getting into shape. Was thinking about the marines but he can't run. Ribs and knees caused more pain than he could handle for much more than slow short runs. I helped him with his lifting rotation and diet etc and when he got into it, it worked well. Some pretty awesome gains have happened since though and I thought I would post it up. If for nothing else it's anecdotal but interesting, and maybe, pretty motivating. I'm going to be working with roomate Sean as he has put on about 15 pounds of muscle and went from unable to bench his own weight to being 15% over it for reps now. We just worked on his diet and work out strategy, and then added in the post work out drink. Pretty awesome results for him. I don't know about size of arm increase etc but it's pretty awesome for only 3-4 months of mild change in lifestyle and adding more protein and a post work out drink. He's getting into trying creatine now etc. I'm going to see if I can cut his costs by switching him to a home brew dextrose and creatine mix and then protein too. By my math a home mix would be 20 times less expensive than the cheapest of premixed brand name post work out drink with creatine. I know you guys are in it for pedal performance but the basic nutrition is the same, just bit different ratios.

I wonder if that's the special black lightweight version. They used some fancy paint that was blacker than all other paints. -

She really didn't like shooting the 12 gauge in slug.

For valentines day I "got the wife" the xdm 9mm. I thought she would like the custom grip and more rounds. It bucks to sharpy though so she likes my 1911 instead. I can't pry her hands off the AK though. Low recoil + 30 round mags + rifle = lots of dead paper and a happy wife. Me and my friends will just sit and reload for her for her as she shoots. She likes the ar10 more but it hurts her shoulder more with it's extra kick.

Aaron you have the BMW version of Seans pickup. And my expedition is their cousin.

Guns or wedding.... Ouch. I know I could have got a lot of guns for the cost of my wedding. ....both of 'em....... I have to get the W something for our aniversary in fact....

Lots of outside rifle in the summer. In the winter, none other than family land. 2000+ feet with with a dirt back where the flat areas end. I admitedly haven't measured but the property spans 11 acres, and from one point I could shoot across most of it the long way. Run a 6mm, 6.5mm, or 7mm bolt gun, a AR in .300 Whisper w/ a can on the front end, and you are golden! what's a can? My AR is in .308 from DPMS. I should take a group pic of all the weapons. Gun pron ftw. What do you shoot/own Ryan, I beleive you like 1911 correct? A can is referring to a Silencer/Suppressor For my .45 I run a CZ-97. Right now it is stripped and in the process of getting rebuilt, shotgun is a 1100 Trap Model, and currently I don't have a rifle that is anything special. My match guns are a TOZ-35M and an Anschutz LP-@, but I haven't shot competitively for a couple of years now and am severely rusty in pistol. I have a slight obsession for stupidly accurate guns, and that doesn't work very well for my checkbook, hence I don't own many. Whoa. Those last too are way too fancy for me. I have wanted an auto shotty but I can't justify it as I have never gone out trap shooting. The CZ is nice though. Is it easy to cary? The 1911 is easey peasey for me. My XD 9 is fine too though. No rifles? What would your dream bolt action be for S & G's.

the whisper family are an odd bunch. Make for the stealthy stealth though.

Oh good lord! That's crazy!
