Wow great cardio. Lcarnitine helped me with getting less cramps. I have no idea why. I don't take it due to the cost anymore and extra potassium from spinnache or banana's do it for me too. As for weight loss pills, they are almost all gone now. All you really have left are stimulents with some little extra helpers. ECA was classic. Ephedra caffeen and asprin. T'was majic. An honest 3-5% increase in weight loss in the AVERAGE person with no other changes. Truely without the ephedra caffeen is probably your best bet. Get some no dose and give it a shot. You can try other things, I'm going to try one of the boutique new products out there. I will say that I thought Melt-down sucked which is a new product. Redline was insane when it came out but it's been changed and might not have the same power as before.*** Most of the products out there have a ton of stuff that don't really help much. The most natty thing you could try is hot peppers and caffeen, and if you don't drink small amounts of asprin (white willow bark) might help. At bare minimum you will have more energy to try harder and push farther. What you need to be carefull of is you will need a bunch more water. And the more extra crap that may or may not work will probably dehydrate you further. Not so fun when pedaling in Texas sun. Work out looks good so long as you keep it all moderate. If you want to push yourself super hard, try a split where you only work one muscle set per visit. You will have much better muscle size increase and strength, but you will then have a much harder time pedaling through the sorness and depletion. It will help you loose fat faster though. *** Anecdotal info on redline. A friends coworker whom I knew well but wasn't really friendly with used original redline to ween himself off cocaine. He then mentioned that redline was more intense than cocaine to him. I think that's over the top, but I'm nearly caffeen imune. Just be careful with insense cardio and weight loss stuff.

Last night I started feeling the exhaustion that lasts for about 5-7 days when your body switches to running on it's stored energy durring this kind of diet. I haven't grabbed any Udo's oil so I had some olive oil and grape seed oil with the protein shake and then a beef stick this morning. I need to grab a stimulant product to help me out I think. I'll let you know what I decide. Ephedra is the go to, but since it's not legal I wont be using it. I'll let you know what I pick and how it works. Redline is a great choice is you want an uber buzz for sure, but I don't know if I want anything that harsh. This morning I woke up and for the sake of doing it I ran with the dog aroudn the yard to get the blood pumping and had a beef stick to get the engine going this morning. going to costco or the butcher for some lean beef to make jerky. Tonight I'll be mowing the lawn, with my push mower it can easily take 6 hours if I weed whip too and it's hot.

Chat all you want about anything health related. As an added tip for you, the verry healthy fats will promote weight loss. You're whole body approach is a great way to do this BTW as it will get you long term sustainable results. check out udo's choice oil. . I really really really really really like that product. I use it in the AM with my morning shake and before bed with my nightime shake. It made an amazing difference in how fast I felt the weight slide off. It felt like it was less of a chore. Fatty acids our what our brain needs more than anything else, and some specialists beleive that our consumption of healthy fats over many thousands of years is what instigated our brain growth over time from the early stages of man. Weird science man!

Holy FUCK. I just recently bought all new shorts and jeans at a 34" waist; however, that is even a lie as my waist measures 37" Levi's are just not sized as labeled anymore. I'm down to 205, but don't really have any more to lose. I actually expect the opposite to happen and for me to gain weight back now, although I doubt my waist will grow. 34" and 255 means your upper body makes me look teh teeny. For the first time in my life I understand the need for motivation to do what you are embarking on. My personal routine has different goal subsets, but the important one is there. Time to get healthy. If we can help in any way, holler! And yes, keeping it public will help. For me, I am logging in Excel all my rides so I can look back and reflect all the time. As with any task. Step 1 is to set a goal with the appropriate steps to get to it, Step 2 is to measure those steps as often as possible to make sure you are still on the right path. I'll tell you one other rather motivating thing. Reproduce. I've never cared to make myself healthy for anyone like I do my son. I want to be able to be with him as long as possible and am definitely going to be the father who helps his teams, although that means he is going to have to pick a sport I like or can at least help with. It wasn't all just upper body as my calves were 19" and thighs were 27". Pants were worse than shirts. Me and my wife talked about kids the other day, and though they aren't in the mix right now, or maybe ever, just the thought of a little dude looking up to me made me feel some need to be in better shape..... just in case. Weird and awesome how people have these primal and wonderfull compulsions.

I had a layer of fat but I'm built in a strong x frame shape. My shirts at that time were 19-20 inch neck and 36-37" shoulder sleeve. I was doing 310 bench for reps running a lot (hurt knees so squat was only ~400 for 10 sled was only ~1000) and I have such bad deadlifts if the bar is only as high as a 45 pound plate, only 195. If I lift the bar 2-3 inches I could do 225 more on my deads. Now I'm 22" neck and probably a 54-58 inch waist and lift WAY less.

any suggestions for a 3 or 4 day strength\hypertrophy routine?
dem beats replied to mrbojang's topic in Hall Of Fitness
Is there anything wrong with a 3 day a week split of dips, squats, deadlifts? That's the compound movement holy trinity. -
weird...... When I went to espn it said they were streaming it... I just couldn't get it to work..... Watch Live Streaming Sports Online: 2010 FIFA World Cup & More

I used to run so much I would kill 2 pair of kayonos every 6 months. I then switched to 1 pair kayonos and one pair of nimbus or what ever else I could find on sale. Even with my super wide feet kayonos were the best for me.

You got it. No carb long term is not an ideal situation. Especially for active people. I hope to be an active people. The carb starvation is only to make use of the protein to glucose conversion that will influence my body to use fat as energy to make that process happen. This will cause a huge fast drop in weight, and will spare as much muscle as possible as opposed to starvation.

Matt I am here and if you need anything give me a yell. I understand what you are doing. At my largest I was 260lbs and have been holding 190lbs for a couple of years now. I will be watching you throught your thread. Good luck!! Thanks. It helps, it really does. I figure even though it's insanely uncomfortable making private things public , it will definately motivate me to make changes. You're heaviest was my most fit! I had a 34" waist at 255-260.

I was a bit over 350 in highschool when I was my fattest. I'm bigger now but I'm also a couple inches taller, shoulders are way broader and I have muscle where as my freshman year in HS I was pure butter.
-
I'm workin on cutting the fat now! It will be hard earned me thinks. Though suprisingly I feel ok, and usually by the second day of a diet I'm ready to kill people. More on my fatty fatness here. The more people watching me the more likely I will be to get r done I figure. If for nothing else, pride.

Basic diet structure. In the beginning of this program I will be going for a modified Ketogenic diet. I will be going for a higher protein moderate fat and extremely low carbohydrate diet. I’m plan to be watching my carb intake and having an absolute maximum of 20g per day, bonus points for keeping it under 10 is a plus. The most major modification would be to limit fat much more than a classic Keto/atkins diet would. I’ll be using fish oil supplements untill I get my favorite fat product, udo’s oil. The reason for the fat restriction is due to the high density of calories per gram. I don’t need the extra energy it will give me. This brings me to the timing and staging of my diet. I’ll keep the modified keto diet as mentioned earlier for a minimum of 2 weeks. I will have to judge progress from there. My goal is to drop a large amount of body weight quickly so that I can get to a point where I feel I can run, squat and participate in those activities without risking my body due to the extreme weight I’m carrying. This is why I’m not setting absolute weight goals as of yet. I need to know what my ankles knees and back can tolerate before I can move into a long term exercise and diet life change. I’ll update my diet to having high GI carbs after lifting when I get to that point. Most of you guys have heard me sing the praises of post work out (PWO) sugar and protein as a supplement for intense exercise. Basic exercise structure. In the beginning of this program I will be concentrating on getting my lungs back up to a high capacity, and getting my heart more fit. I’ll be spending a lot of time on the recumbent pedaler in the basement getting my capacity up. I’ll also be doing moderate weight training in preparation for when I can run and squat again. So for the first 2 weeks minimum I will be looking at 3x30 min trips to the gym for weight training, and then cardio, again mostly done in the house in the basement. After having dropped enough raw weight and getting my joints to a place where they can handle more taxing effort I’ll switch to an intense lifting program and keep in line with making sure I keep high lung and heart capacity. I really loath cardio in general but it’s been my strongest asset for health. I was running 7 min miles for 3-5 miles 3 times a week when I was 265. I didn’t feel “stressed” by it either but I am older now so I’ll keep my expectations low. The reason for switching to a higher intensity weight lifting is that it will boost my metabolism fast and longer than with cardio. Time and time again I have found in real life and on paper that a high level of weight training yields far better results than any amount of cardio. It’s also easier to control and see gains in the mirror and on paper. The added long term effect of more muscle tone and strength will be welcome as I get older. Philosophy and long term goals. One of the biggest reasons I haven’t made a change yet is that I’m still healthy. It’s hard to imagine, but my cardio vascular system was recently looked at and given the big OK from the cardiology head at the U of M cardio team. I have been able to run, lift more, work longer and stay injury free than almost every one of my friends. This made it all too easy to coast and feel I didn’t need to make a change. Very recently though I noticed that my physical abilities are beginning to slip, and even if it’s due to age, I know it won’t get easier with time. I also know I could perform so much better in every single task I care about as a lean person compared to a fat person. Exercise will be the larger factor in my ultimate long term health goals. Right now it’s all about dropping first weight, and then dropping fat as efficient and fast as possible. Much further down the road I just hope to stay as active as possible. I have at least 1 auto immune disorder. Psoriasis on my joints is spreading along with some other skin issues. I’m also pretty sure I have the first stages of fibromyalgia and that the psoriasis is working into my joints internally. I’ve noticed arthritic like pain when the weather changes and it’s too much. All the right food and even being the right weight won’t help these factors…. The strongest panacea for these problems is activity. Maybe I’ll join a sport, maybe I won’t. I do know long term I need to continue to keep moving and right now that means outside of my work life. Before I can get to this long term life changer I have to get my weight and behavior patterns in better check. I don’t live nesicarily poorly and I don’t eat that much more that the average person, and I know I eat a LOT healthier, but the combination of some bad bad medical speed bumps in my life along with sitting all day made for an ideal situation to turn into what I am now. So now I am going to change it permanently. One of the most important factors here is that this is a needed change before I do actually suffer heart or other serious complications with my body. If this doesn’t work for some reason, as in I fail to keep on track, I promised my wife I would look into surgery. I feel that it’s not an option to have surgery so I refuse to fail at this if for no other reason than to avoid that conversation with my wife/doctor.

A big tip if you want great cuts is to call around to local custom cabinet makers. Many of them would be willing to make a simple box for you on the cheep. It would take them seconds if you have a proper cut sheet. Heck they may even have 3/4" MDF on hand for some reason. Either way it will be better than 90% of the average local guy. You could comission one of the builders here on SSA though.

Awesome. I'm jelly again. I'll probably look out the window and check out the building across the courtyard here..... maybe.

I'm jelly. No hooch for at least a week. Normaly that would be easy.. however I just stocked the fridge with my fave beers. And any time I say I won't eat something....I of course get cravings for it.

True. I think the tune is the harder part. I wonder what the boost is and if they used different pistions. I thought the compression on the 6.2 was in the stratosphere.
