The SSD in my laptop screams....or at least my laptop screams and it has an SSD. Off to full boot in 15-20sec. I should have worded it better. They are fast. Blindingly fast. In games or apps for testing and on start up they can definately make the machine work WAY faster. They are just more prone to data loss. That won't matter if you back it up constantly though. They are also lighter on average I think.

SSD = suck Unless you're gaming and backed up someother way at all times. YMMV but they are just slightly more reliable than thumb drives, and my jump drives get the flu once a year and dies.

like <1 hour on the big lappy top.

No way. TLX you do NOT need the top end model. It's battery life blows. It's made with desktop parts and weighs 12 lbs. It will be hot and not verry convienent. Edit: if you want to make everyone jelly and have a super game machine the big boy would be nice.. but again... LOW bat life

Actually falcon has a machine that is pretty awesome without being some insane mega machine that will be a 100% waste for you. I maxed out this one with the i7 (you wouldn't need that) and the waranty etc... It was only 2300. If you're in the 2k price range you can't beat the fact they will warranty ALL HARDWARE FOR 3 YEARS as an option and overnight to them and back to you at their cost. It also has a dead pixle warranty. That's insane. You also get a free backpack made to fit it. Sounds stupid right? You said you travel allot, well having a snug home with sturdy protection and fabric for your laptop is spendy. Easy to spend 200 bucks on a bag. As I said, you can do what you want and way more for probably around 700 bucks with lenovo or asus but if you want something different, and high level of quality and pride in a product it's hard to beat falcon. http://build.falcon-nw.com/?s=3

Listen to me now and hear me later. Alienware is not the computer company you want to go with. Unless you're buying it because you like how it looks, there are so many much much much better companies that you could deal with. My roomate builds and repairs computers as does my brother in law as a side buisness. While it may be a strong machine in general you're paying too much unless it's on a great sale. The only people that laptop would even impress are those geeky enough to know about video games and that company but not smart enough to shop around. If you want something to putz around on the net but want something that will be faster than some 700 dollar POS buy a nice ASUS. Lenovo is also another brand I recomend and they are having a pretty good sale "employee pricing" and a few other discounts right now. It's your money if the alien makes you happy, then you should go for it. If you would rather get more for the same amount, or spend less then go with a different company. If you want whole hog? If you want something mind boggling check out falcon northwest if you want an impressive name behind the product. They build some of the best of the best and they RUN STABLE. Alienware is specifically known by most fellas who play with computers at that level for being unstable/crash prone. A laptop is not a desktop. It will never work like one. You're laptop may have better specs than your desktop for parts but it might run slower when working programs. It happens regularly when my roomates dual core smokes laptops with quads that he looks at. If you want another brand with the high class feel to it, you can go with VooDoo. they partnered up with HP now though and will have less street cred than before. They used to be the pinnacle of fancy machines.

Balsamic Vinegar It's delicious and complex in flavor. The Real stuff can be extremely expensive but you can find it for a reasonable price. Err, almost, you can find YOUNG stuff for a reasonable price. The really old stuff is amazing though, I've had some that is $250 for 100ml and it is like crack. I never mix it ahead of time, but make a dressing right before I eat. Make an emulsion with the vinegar, olive oil and I personally like to add some pulverized garlic. Here's a little hint, if you've never made an emulsion a bit of brown mustard will REALLY help it stay together How bout that college budget shiz? lol any recommendations on parts of vinegar to olive oil? I start with a slightly oil biased 1:1 ratio and then taste and add oil untill it's right. Depending on my mix ins it can vary a bit but usually it's probably close to the classical 2 oil 1 vinegar. With balsamic I love the flavor so much that I will go a little heavier than most people I bet. sometimes i'll just splash a teaspoon in my mouth for a kick while cooking. If I use a regular red wine vinegar it's much much more harsh and needs some calming...... For a point of referance though I cannot remember the last time I made a vinegarette without balsamic.

I flavor it based on the greens or the food I'm having it with most of the time. I'm lazy and make it ahead of time and keep on hand for salads. We eat quite a bit of salad at my house lately.

Ryan where do you pick up your handloading consumables? Also I'm looking into the dillon reloaders, I want to understand something though. One pull puts in the primer, loads the powder and seats/crimps the projectile? And as long as I buy a machine from their web site I can get it in the cartridge I want and then the only adjustments I would need to make to reload another cartidge is adjust the powder rate and have the proper die?

the only "light/low cal/low fat" dressing I use is western. It's flavor hinges on sweetness so cutting the oil isn't so bad. If u want a good dressing buy balsamic and use olive oil. If u want it to be much much much healthier use udo's oil. I add rosemary to mine and than salt and pepper and other spice to taste. we keep a bottle in the fridge. if u use olive oil it will solidify, if u use udo's it will not.

I just got an insanely low price offered to me for the savage 110 BA in .338. Catch is they can't find one in stock and it could be "weeks to months" to get it.
