I stopped by to visit ny old supervisor today. He is looking like hell. I felt a bit bad, he said I look better than I have in years. That fucking job was killing me, and it will kill him.

My man titties are burning from the work out yesterday. It's nice to start seeing some big changes in my body though. Finally getting some muscles back. Waist slimming is nice, but when you feel like your just shrinking and maybe loosing muscle it sucks.

Ultimately performance and sports nutrition is a bit different from a simple "healthy diet". Part of me ow wishes I could stop thinking about the gym, and working out, and min maxing my food. Just eat well and be happy.

I could care less about the grain argument, but in general I would say that a "ballanced diet" is key. Something that is so simple that I laugh about it all the time is one of Sean's basic rules. "Don't eat the same meal twice in a month." So simple. Not easy for some, but so simple. Also eating 12 servings of veg in a day. That is some tough shit. I have tried and its so much harder than I expected. Captain vitamix is helping though. :-D It's even helping my wife get them in. She has gone multiple days without a vegi before. And no, corn and most tubers are not vegis. I let carrots slide though.... :-)

Assuming both were of good quality manufacturing, the only thing I can think of is we can now better compensate for parrallax. Both due to us understanding how to avoid it with our position and repeated cheek weld, and with better mechanical adjustment for parrallax. Optical experts could expand on why its better. Just like with car engines, we get a little better at squeezing more out of less over time.

I only used a study from that publication as you referenced it earlier. I'm 100% for not suckling the teat of what ever popular thought is, but since every athlete, every effective nutrition plan, and out bodies rhythm tend toward many small meals a day, I think it is best to assume it is as such for a reason. The fasting thing works. But that is mainly a psychological effect. The ability to control your food in a condensed manner outweighs the loss of potential for many. Similar to having your "cheat meal" at bed time. If you do it in the morning, you are more likely to cheat all day. Maybe I am mildly hypoglycemic, or maybe I am just a pussy, but I cannot handle the fasting program when my metabolism is this high.

the entire premise that a meal of 3000 kcal a day in one large shot being the same as many small meals through the day is so flawed in every aspect of current understanding in how biology works it makes me sick. #1 we can only process so much protein/amino acids at a time. #2 Insulin can only handle so much blood sugar at a time. #3 carbs and fats cause a down regulation in HGH in the body. #4 we are limited by our intestines ability to process food. #5 Gross excess of food in one setting stresses the kidneys along with other body parts. #6 If the metabolic increase of eating can be sustained throughout 16 hours rather than 5, you will have a total mean of more kcal used.

To drink water? You can drink water during fasting. I'm presuming your trying to lose weight in fat, but maintain / increase muscle? It's hard for me to drink a lot of water when I am completely empty of food. This is mainly a problem I have in the morning. I'm really tempted to buy/build a carbonation machine. Bubble water is really easy for me to drink. Sean will probably know exactly what I am talking about as I know he loves his sparkling water too. And with my metabolism going so crazy it is really hard to make healthy eating choices. 1 large chicken breast 2 cups of veg and a cup of rice barely keeps me full for 2 hours. Only extremely heavy foods keep me full, and then I'm not being really healthy for most of my meals. How often you eat, and what you eat does not effect your metabolism. Metabolism is effected by body-weight, exercise, and weight loss. I'm not sure how junk food is more filling then whole foods, unless your simply not getting enough calories from the whole foods in comparison to the junk food. I'm going to ask this because I want to make sure you are really stating something that I have never ever heard before in the world of nutrition. You hypothesize that the foods you eat, and how frequently you eat them, does not change your metabolism?

I ate ~25 oz of ribeye the other day. I NEEDED to eat in 3.5 hours. As in eat now. As long as I get in the work outs, I'm dripping off fat and my muscles are growing like crazy. I have a slow build up to get my body anabolic, but once I get everything just right I'm a machine. I'm not sure how big you are, but you have to remember I'm ~375 pounds, and though way too fat, keeping my muscle fed and maintained takes about 4500 kcal a day if I'm working out frequently. So on 3000 kcal I'm at a loss and will loose weight. My work outs are extremely intense and pretty high volume with weights pretty high in my max % range.
