Good luck on the paper Lithium. I'm gonna crash I think. Relived my techno days tonight. I remember seeing underworld back at UMF in my early 20's. What a trip. Scaled a wall to get in as the area was cut off because so many people rushed that stage for their set. Wow. Thems were the days.

I really need to get my fi18 in the living room too. The martin Logan's are over worked. One of them goes into safety mode when the bass gets heavy and loud. Star wars is brutal with the ultra high dynamics. Forget the pod racing scene. I also think this damn Marantz doesn't put out enough volts via RCA.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Look fuckin awesome. I'll check it out. I love XBL2. IMO nothing has ever come close. I will cry if my Adire gear ever shits the bed. 16 cubes sounds a bit big, but not terribly. I am basing this off the 15" Brahmas. I know the Tumults were HT drivers, with what one would would expect to be larger requirements then the 15" Brahmas. But they modled very well in ~25% smaller cabinets, and actually performed better in ~30% smaller cabinets. Granted, the FS was not as low (~22Hz IIRC), but the motor was a bit weaker. I'll take some time this weekend to do a bit of analysis for you. While I have only had my hands on the Exodus Shiva X2, it's behavior was very similar to the B12 MKIIs. It wanted a slightly larger cabinet if I were being anal about it, but it did very well in .8 feet sealed. I am assuming SQ is the goal. XBL2 is very transparent, and if crushing output is the goal you will be disappointed. While the subs move air and deliver solid output, their transparency seems to soften their perceived output. That is why I might suggest slightly smaller then recommended for them. It adds a bit of puch, but does not color them a lot. I also trust you have some good mains. They are true subwoofers, and tend to roll off rather quickly over 75Hz. The raw output from my velodyne 12" on 300 watts makes my house shake. Two 18's should do ok with about 8 times the total energy output. Thanks for the help. My mains are energy RC50's. They should do ok.

Seth!!!!! Thanks for the real world info. The boxes would be about 16 cubes..... Not quite enough to mimic IB I think.
