    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

That requires an investment on my part so it won't happen. Neither will two cars until I move. Has to be a single choice. Also eliminated anything that causes me to pay anything out of pocket but that is on principleYou know I normally support you argument. I just think this time it is misguided.Yikes, does this sound as judgemental and D-baggish as I am reading it? Am I always such an asshole around here? Maybe I need those pain meds more than I realize.

Sean, buy a solid Ford pickup, lease a German hot rod, move on and be happy. If you leave the job yoh "suffer" with your pickem up until you find a new gig. If you leave the current job and you are leasing the towing vehicle you will just need to buy a truck until you get a new gig. Prepair and save yourself the hassle.

Quentin, I forgot all about the Audi. I do love style of Audi and they are comfy. I always personally exclude the Audi because the price is always so high performance wise I what I have looked at.

Asus/i3/EVGAWhy does he need a video card? If he doesn't game a little better MoBo and nice i5 would be a better choice IMHO. never bought an integrated before....scares me. If it is really the solution tho its okay. He's got a huge power suppltAll the new intels have an integrated video card on the processor die. Unless he is gaming or doing some extremely serious editing frequently, it won't be a problem. Asus happens to also have some neat helper firmware/software that can take advantage of those chipsets. My current asus actually runs a complete overclock for my system. I don't need to fuck with anything and it's stable as shit. Just plug and play.

WTF? Range Rovers are HUGE piles of shit. They ride way worse than an Escalade, are total pieces of shit, HUGE cost of ownership... there is nothing nice about them. I had an '08 in the shop the other day with a jumped timing belt and a rattling intake manifold (variable intake runner shaft torn up). $4000 tab to fix it. A complete piece of shit. The seats are miserable, they feel like they have no suspension, they oversteer like fucking pigs... OMG, I am trying to think of one good thing to say about them and I am drawing a total fucking blank. I have worked on several RRs through the years, and every time I have I have thought they were the hugest pieces of shit on the road. I would rather own a VW/Audi product... The 2011 or 2012 my friend beat around this off road track was a fucking champ.

Round it out with Gskill RAM and he will be set. By skipping the gfx card you could probably keep the same power supply and be more than happy as newer chips use less power it seems.

I would also get a SS drive instead of a gfx card. It is change your life fast especially for windows and files.

It would be about perfect. My buddy had a charged escalade, the avalanche looking one, and it was just over 600 with some nice suspension work. I think he had 22" rims and something more winter friendly. Awesome vehicle. But he had to work the suspension. You would have made it much more aggressive than he did I am sure. It was a really nice vehicle though. His family is insanely well off though. He had to borrow his moms car while the truck was in the shop. AMG CL with the V12.

I don't think charity is "doing good". I think it is neutral for the most part. What I do know is we are not isolated and rely on a village/civilization/group to become our best. So I think helping those who might not be able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps or are having a rough time is instinctive to a certain degree. Like yawning making everyone else yawn. Or the fact some conditions that make people blind but they can respond to facial expressions without knowing it.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

You're misreading what I am typing. I stated I don't want recognition, nor do I car whether they appreciate it or not. The point is not for someone to appreciate or be thankful of the charity, rather to use the charity to help them in whatever capacity they need. THAT is the point. Not self gratification.Everyone is wired differently. Not all people need or want materials, money, recognition, etc. . . Some people just like to work hard just to work hard. Some people like to give with no need to receive. Alternatively there are people who expect something for nothing, or lazy people whom think they are busting their ass and deserve far more than their worth. Life is not fair, the universe is not balanced, we are NOT created equal, hard work and dedication does not always pay off, and some people are just born with a shitty life. Yes, I did misunderstand, and when I said appreciate I meant in the global sense. As in when I can help someone face to face and my kindness goes to them with no middle man, no organization, nothing, I think they are then getting the full help that I am giving. Like when a savings bond appreciates. I think we are all wired different, but you cannot elevate life for others unless you elevate life for yourself. My only moral judge of people is if you climb life as hard as you want and always work to do better, you are a good person. If you pull others down so you can be above them, you are bad.

Sean I figured it out. You need range rover. Something CPO so no cost on lemons for you. They are a different fucking company in the last 5 years or so. Interior is nice. Does not ride like the escalade etc etc. I think your customed up idead is not a bad idea, but it really defeats the whole crapshoot. You know what you have to do. Get a truck/SUV of your choice on your dime for the boat and trailers. Then have them lease you a nice car. Or have them lease you a vehicle that tows the boat and then buy yourself a fucking awesome whip. Get started on the Pantera. I know you well enough to say that if you custom up a lease vehicle, you will overdo it because you use a 6x6 when a 2x4 would work for most people. That means it will be in and out of the tuners shop or your garage and "need" constant attention and it won't even be completed in 3 years when the lease is comming up.

What is the point of charity if it does no good for you and does no good for the person receiving?

The price of owning a diesel...

My buddies all have big trucks and buy the second vehicle.... one even has 3. Truck for hauling, jeep for climbing, and whatever shitbox he has for commuting. The shitbox's are a slow drain. He is always fixing them then selling them to buy a new one before the old one explodes and he can't resell it. He builds his climber so it really only costs him anything when he breaks something. The big truck makes him money so he can have the other 2. If he drove only the diesel he could save time and money. But he wouldn't have back up cars and wouldn't have projects that he needs to keep his ADD down. He also fixes his 3-4 mountain bikes, makes shooting equipment, and works on building his oooooolld mustang and keeping his 5.0 mustang running.

The price of owning a diesel...

My misspelled comment about convenience was about the good parts of having 2 vehicles. I wish we had 3 or 4 not including the motorcycle. Just cannot afford it. I am the same way imp. All my life I have owned vehicles that require constant work.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

It's all in the mentality. I look at the Lambo and think, while it would be nice, I could have several nice cars and left over money to donate to those in need.Do you really believe that? I have never in my life met someone with that mentality.I have given the Matt challenge to countless people and never has anyone taken all their next raises and donated to those in need. I have had a couple guys swing at me after I made that challenge though. I didn't say all of it.I really am NOT a fan of money or material posessions. I like my fast cars and music and that's about it. As long as my son is comfortable, that's all that matters to me. If I have leftover money and it won't hurt my financial stability, I donate to those who need it. In the case of a wad of money like the Lambo, indeed that would be what I would do. If I ever win the lottery, half of the money will immediately go to charity. There's no need for a huge house, bunch of cars, expensive clothes, etc. . . Nope, no need. But it gives your kids the highest chance at success. And you giving money to charity is different. You picked something YOU beleive in. That is still selfish. Leaving it on the table is what I am talking about. Like I said, this discussion only leads to me pissing off people. You are a good guy though. I feel it nesicarry to say I beleive in charity and work in/for a bunch and have donated more time than some people will ever work. I just won't donate money, and often time, unless the benefactors can see my face. I don't want credit, I want them to know that what they have been given goes from a real persons hand and heart to them. It makes a much bigger impact for them and for me.
