When we have ultra stressful conversations I make us leave the house. It becomes neutral ground then. A place to not be surrounded by undone projects. It's the only way I can have a conversation sometimes. Not being in my own glorious bed is brutal, but one night in a local hotel can be fucking magic because there isn't shit there to remind you of what you need to do. It takes her mind off what she wants to do. The physical change of location makes for a psychological break too. Then you can drop romantic bombs like "Baby you don't have to work if you can't. Just try your best and if it doesn't work out, fuck them in the goat ass." Just the change of pace might keep her from needing the valium Rx. Spend more money than you want, drink a bit too much, wake up and have room service or eat at a local diner etc.

Tell her to get dressed up and go somewhere she doesn't have to think. Restaurant she likes... maybe even a movie (I know I know). White roses mean forgiveness, maybe for working so much? Roll it into a mothers day thing but the grown up mothers day thing. Not from the kids but from you. Seriously though, if you can swing one night away from home, it will do tons.

You are honestly the only person other than my financial advisor who has a bigger margin for hiccups than me. You also got the skill and attitude b to not have to use it unless absolutely needed. I can't speak on the kids part... I don't have any myself but I am super aware of the stress (good or bad it's stress) they can bring. They are resilient though. They will forgive a little bit of you time.

It will only show up when you are gone because that's when she notices it. Wife has to stack outnof state training with her school and work load too. I expect no less that 2 phone calls per trip to Wisconsin. You are kind of the rock of the house and sometimes physical distance is a catalyst for emotional flood gates to be opened. Make it special when you come home if only for a night. Who wants to retire anyway. And just because she leaves this gig doesn't mean she can't find something with a more relaxed pace.

On that same note the wife already is getting frustrated with me gone on weekends. She was pretty bummed this last weekend and she had made plans a few weekends out forgetting I work.... She likes the alone time but hates the frustration. Her new job is getting to her also when combined with school. It seems this is the springtime of frustrated progress. Growing pains and such.

I just noticed you are out of town. Flowers to her work might be nice, or a staycation when you get home. I found the W to be nice if you want to be downtown. Drink too much and relax for a weekend.

A massage does go a long way. Help me when I am tweaked out.

Spoke to my wife a few minutes ago. Sounds like she is having a break down. Ultra stressed at work, thinks she is failing, afraid to move, thinks she has no patience for the boys and is making them hate her. All sorts of shit. Was fine yesterday. Never seen her react like this Let her know you are there for her and make a date night. It sounds exactly like when my wife had the problems with her boss. I told her the worst they can do is fire you, and then the problems are gone and we will still be fine. Once she realised all they can do is fire her she started working harder with less stress. You may need to word it different depending on your reliance on her immediate income, but I know you can figure it out so just let her know it's ok. More than likely her knowing it is ok will set her free and it will work out well.

It is a bit like a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back.

The PS is easily acessible under the truck, while the DS you can get from under, or crank the wheel all the way to the right and sneak in through the wheel well.
