Being cheep and it hurting financially are way different. I'm stupid frugral when it comes to a lot of things. Dom tastes but I only give myself highlife budgets. At our life right now I don't even need to work, but it is smart if I do. This is my treat to myself. And what is even crazier... I will save so much on gas even with a thirsty sports car, it will probably pay for anything it costs me. So long as I don't blow it on girls and cola.

that's true but most of those people tractor cars. So when you look at the statistics from some of the forms with how many failures there were compared to how many people didn't have a failure its wavy less than 50 percent and these people all have over 60000. Sophie look at it that way it's highly unlikely that me with my grandma foot would be burning up clutches quick.

every business and job driven guy I know has a horrible memory.

The price you quoted Sean sounds like a whole new transmission. And high. Looking online the tranny looks to cost 7,000 from BMW as they are the only source, kinda fucks ya if it dies.
-
And there is at least 1 confirmed replacement from that place doing that part and doing it right.
-
OEM parts. "Performance" would drop it drastically. 1700 for a FUCKING FLYWHEEL OEM. Performance are way cheeper.
-
Confirmed.

2000 for a full clutch kit with pressure plate installed.
-
Discount after warranty is over is pretty Fucking awesome IMHO. Ford has done similar and so has GM. Chrysler and jeep live by that method.
-
Seriously? 3 years ago I was quote $12k from MotorwerksI just left a message to get an actual quote from the shop. I will post results. Seth, what would your shop charge for a clutch replacement? From my reading almost NO SMG issues ever happen. Just clutch after clutch on the non updated units.

That is insane for electronic. There are apparently some good BMW mechanics in MN.... Maybe I will call them.

Apparently the pre 2007 plate and pump improved cars should also have a recall and BMW is usually willing to fix clutches at 1/2 off if due to the plate issue.

Go drive the one for 41. You may hate it. Yup.Or worse, love it. Then driving to get a car is no big deal.I really don't expect to find what I want within a 1000 mi of here. You and your damn logic. You ready for the road trip when I go get the car?

I found that a local Mpls shop will do a clutch and flywheel for about 2000-2500. Not cheep, but really not the brutal amount I was thinking. Dealer was at 3500. That is a little bit harder to stomach.

Scalded dog. I love it. What electrical issues. I am reading more and it sounds like an uncivilized sedan. Kind of exactly what I want. And if the car is post 2007 it will have the pump and plate attachment to not burn clutches.

Do you love it?

That is your car now?

Fuuuuuuuuuck the closest S5 with a V8, under 30k is 450 miles away. Audi of Mpls has 2. One is 41, the other 51. 2010 and 2012. That is insane.
-
Much lighter than factory? 1800 a price is brutal. Did you get the for a customer?

M5 or 6 BMW deep dish are sooooooooo sexy. I couldn't find a pic of them. The new M6 grand touring rims are unfucking believable.

Find me a fuel efficient Subie. No idea what the older ones get, but I'm sure the awd doesn't help. Ours gets around 30, but it's newer.Spendy to fix from what I understand. Bad as VW or cheeper Audi. Not benz spendy, but not good. She likes them quite a bit though. Legacy or some such. Acura TSX or TL is in the sale area I think. But waaaaay cheeper to fix. I bet her hospital co workers will think she is loaded too. Subarus are relatively inexpensive to repair. Very easy to work on. In the MN winters, likely the best choice. Edges suck dick. You couldn't give me one of those piles of shit. I also hate the edge. Thank you for your info on the Subaru. I was told they are spendy to fix by a Subaru dealership mechanic and a buddy who owned the STi had a few problems back to back with his newer one. He traded in his S4. He actually liked the car more than the Audi and his 911s4. Just had a bunch of little issues.

Blame Mike. No fear of the SMG?
