Lol Definitely remind her of that. Women love being blamed for things out of their control. They deal with it so well.

Truth about VANOS. But whatever.... It's basically a baby supercar. Some things must be sacrificed.

That engine can be turboed or super charged to insane levels for a pretty low price compared to other non American power plants. It's not slow NA, but400-500 HP is just a little FI away. If you want to build it, that power plant can take a lot more. Lots of 600hp and even 800hp builds.

I am dialed in on decoding the badging. Without test driving any yet, I am most drawn to the E46 M3. I like the style, has plenty of power right out of the box, and the "M" for the better suspension and brakes. Still have a ton of questions though, as I am learning the options.Anything bad to say about the natural aspiration? The E46 is one of my absolute dream cars that I could own someday. It is right up there with Porsche, but looses by just a hair.

Didn't read that far. The manual is the way to go unless you don't mind expensive tranny issues. And I ain't talking about those boy girls you like.

Neal, I hope I don't sound pretentious. I have shot rifles with $100 scopes that can still hit a deer sized target. It's like any other hobby, if you become interested you will wish you spent more, if you end up not interested you can sell the good stuff for what you paid.

Neal, I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not well versed on lower prices optics.. I can tell you this. If the scope is meant to last and grow with, that isn't the route I would choose. If it is clear, not built poorly, and the clicks are repeatable, then at that price it's a good deal. I cannot imagine complex optics for a $200 price however. Especially with a variable power scope. For me I care about having the crosshairs in the first focal plane. To me that is a non negotiable. Especially if you interested to shoot at longer distance. The next two things I care about are durability and amount of light that comes through. Perfectly clear optics is even less important than light and the scopes ability to get bumped and still do it's job. Having paralax adjustment is nice too, but not needed. I really recommend US Optics. But they are in the highest price range. Schmidt and Bender is a rival basically. For some better priced and still epic products vortex is beloved. So is SWFA. A used fixed ~10 power might be the best. Also a bit of advice, unless you have a lot of experience and know you really want something different, I would stick with an absolute basic millions dot/hash or MOA dot/hash reticle. It allows for the most growth, best site picture and most versatile set up. It is something I wish I would have done in fact. I'm not sad with my choice but I over did it thinking it would help. KISS unless you ABSOLUTELY know you want to have a different sight System.

Who made it? If that's stamped steel from some surplus that sounds expensive. Just the rifle or a kit?

expect the mods to cost more than the car lolYup. This is more of a "5 year plan" project. My real issue is the same thing you suffer from. The initial research. The easiest answer is trade in Helga, make my payment insane and get a 911 on warranty. But that won't satisfy my craving to massage a car into something just for me.

Who knew they sold a kit to bolt an LS1 in a 944! Is fun to drive stock, but would be a rocketship like the 427 Cobra with that motor!! VERY NICE!!Couple turbos.....

I know the 996 has an LS swap kit, but I would really like the 997 if I could find it.

That's pretty Aaron. GT3 is my jam, but I will end up wanting FI. FI on a GT3 is probably grounds to be sent to hell.
