thanks you think it's better to replace than double up then?

I Just put the pio 880 in my 98 expe, and that deck is awesome. I am in love. It even makes the factory set up tolerable.... almost. Well I know what I need to do next and thats basic electrical and deadening, while I wait to see if I want to do an alarm etc. I'm going to go active in the front and am still undecided about placement of speakers and then in turn about what size drivers..and how I want to go about it, so I'm going to switch gears and work on the bass and deadening and electrical for a while. I am completely lost on the big 3 and it will take me a long time to figure those out I think. I have read it's practical to just double up with the factory instead of replacing.. and I think that might be the way to go. SO I am left with purchasing wire and deadening, and making some choices on what I want to do here. I'll also be doing some functional cosmetic changes to the truck with lights and maybe a winch. I came into a good sized windfall in bad circumstances so I'm going to blow some cheddar on the truck and do it up. Fist off how much dead mat will I need do you think for my truck and where do you all feel it's most vital. I don't mind deadening the whole damn thing I, but I want to know points of interest if you have ever heard of any issues that EB expe's have. I'm thinking about going with second skin, and knu concepts wiring. Value based brands it sounds like, anyone have any other thoughts? I really need help here though. My alt is suposed to be 130 amp I beleive, do you think I could get away with running a system that would be in the 1200-3400 watt range. I know it's a wide range, but i'm not sure how I will want to go with bass. My going is to have a wonderfull front stage focusing on the mid/midbass and to make the lows verry forcefully but only in a way that will not sacrifice SQ and focused in the verry low end of sub sonics. I'm not into SPL so much but I think it will be more fun for me to focus on this and if I decide I went to far with the thumps in the trunk... well I can always pull it out and put it in the HT for LFE. You can never have too much there. So what I I guess I am asking for is... -Do you think a new Alt would be a wise purchase, considering the watts and perhaps HID lights put in, if so how many amps should I look at? Would a set of good Batts be as good or better? -ANyone have a good guess on how much deadening I need and where I should really lawyer it on think? -What sub(s) and enclosure(s) would lend itself to an SQ set up and be able to output at low HZ quite well? -Any other electrical I should look at before I bite into this other than the big 3? Thanks all for helping me brainstorm and giving ideas!

I would ship it USPS. If the law changed that you can't ship whole guns anymore... ship parts. Over pack it as best as you can and double box it if it's at all fragile. USPS is always going to be the best short of hand delivering it, unlesss you want some ungodly over night cost to it.

I used to go to lord fletchers quite a bit. I would take my motorcycle down there and cruise endlessly. Very relaxing.

It's the drop in testosterone i'm sure. I actually think it is an increase of wisdom, some of us just get a bit wiser at an earlier age. I caught the inference. I just had to play devils advocate. I would never sacrafice quality for volume, but being I got my first peek into audo wiht subs, and then into HT since I had a crap car and would rather be happy at home, LFE have a verry special visceral place in my hear tand I gotta stand up to the likes of you ruthless SQ guys.

what do you consider your local "gin joint"? Any place outside of your home that has a large focus on serveing "grown folk" beverages. I actually meant specifically where do you like to go? I enjoy the red dragon, brit pub, I used to like the CC club and a few dives in ST paul. I live right next to moscow on the hill and the happy gnome so I frequent there. I'm usualy sober cab, but again, if in the mood to tie one off you can't get much better atmosphere for doing some serious drinking than at red dragon or some other non club like dive. I prefere a bar where I can be ignored by everyone even if I'm there often or know everyone. When I worked as a bar back we would always go to the red dragon or liquer lyles.

Notice how most people transition from SPL to SQ as they age? I wonder why that is It's the drop in testosterone i'm sure.

I intend on leaving work and going directly to the local bar with some work people. I'm bracing for some big buisness tonight.

Of course i'm from MN. =D you still owe me a list to your kit, I didn't forget, so I know what I'll be buying!! hehehe I have yet to try Manny's save one time for desert after eating at Murrays and it was years ago. The father of my best friend at the time came in from cali and was particular and wanted to go on his personal Best of MN tour. No matter what Meat FTW. IMO Manny's >> Murrays. Just fyi. Eaten at Murrays probably 8 times and Mannys a good 50. I will give Manny's a try then. I'm always up for another wonderfull choice for fine dining!

no, you got me there. though with the right tires, it's not bad in the snow. ours came with the dunlop run flat ultra high perfomance summer tire. and it works, wet or dry. but snow?? lol, oh no! ya know there is supposed to be a rwd impala coming out with the new camaro. sharing alot of the camaro's suspension architecture (spl?). but that'll be a year or so from now and probably in the 30k range as well. to be honest, i just can't think of anything american other then the cts. i really hate the 300/charger from the work we did on them at the shop. maybe that a6 or whatever sean and aaron were talking about would work. though i really like the cts, alot. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Those MIni's are suprisingly large inside! I still vote CTS for american. The a6 is still the most beautiful well appointed mid-large sedan made in it's price though. Myself.. I'm interested in the new 09 cts v 550 hourse for under 60.. yes please. Edit... I also think the new CTS is just about the most beautiful car made right now, tied with the a or s 5

For a lot of people I've met, that's being far too generous ...in no specific order; boobs, food, cars, boobs, beer, food, audio, boobs, food, boobs, boobs, money, boobs, car, tv, boobs etc that's already a big enough list for me to handle sir.

what about snow-driving? not that I've ever driven in snow, just heard it's better for that This is unsubstantiated but perceived in my driving experience with decent tires. In snow you with RWD you have to remember what's going on and the forward motion will come, FWD does pull you and if you aren't paying atention may make hills and ice a pain, but if your feel your car out it's just fine. FWD however everytime I drive one in the winter it feals like I have less true control over the direction i'm going and even more so breaking. I have no clue why but when breaking in an FWD car in snow it seams to be all over the damn place and more pone to sliding. I also feel FWD gives you a false sense of how your car is really grabbing traction because of the weight of the engine. If you put weight in the back of a RWD car it has no problem. No different than trucks I feel. SOmethign about how a FWD car brakes in the snow always feels akward to me though, no idea why.

Sean Sweet grill. I've been wavering on going gas and coal and if I really want to throw down. I usualy just work 3 kettle old rusted webbers with 1 broken leg on each. Not a BBQ without the grill tipping once! Verry nice mang. My favorite local meat place is Fogo... I'm addicted. I love murrays too though golden and silver are just too good to let go.... and the "chateaubriand".

Any new 2008 cars your excited about??
dem beats replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Automotive and Performance
I'm in the market for a new car, and have been actively looking and ready to write a check this spring/summer. I test drove A5 nearly purchased an s5 from that mild experience alone, fit and finish plus the v8 make for driving seks G37 Hotness, but if more of a luxury car that makes old guys feel like it's got go fast juice in it, and no room for. Great value and people will look Benz 350clk, Over rated and flashy. Masariti, for the price, I would rather put down on a lake home. A used gt there was only 50 though with less than 30k miles and the best interior. Felt quick Looked at acura TL, it has an appeal nothing else does and I don't even know why... but for the price, no way. The turbo 3XX from BMW 4 door, no coupe on hand. Fast but, lacking something, m3 is no way. half the US shipment was damaged on landing at port. GTR. That thing is seksi. real real seksi. I'm just nervous about owning it and the crowd of people it would pull. porsche. 911 is great but for that cost.. and with turbo... yeah.. I'm not a doctor in mid life crisis so I shouldn't have the car either. and the cayman would be perfect but I don't fit even with the seat all the way back. Lexus ISF, really disapointed on the luxury and sporty aspect. I think it tried to marry the 2 and this was a match that should get a divorce, maybe I saw a badly trimmed one but the inside was nothing to be amazed by. Suprised I liked The new CTS, beautiful and interior is finaly up to standards. The V will be priced great and has big horses I hear. 300c Wow nice car for the price, but a bit older man style for me. I am ready to wash my hands though and get a pedal bike, the sales force in automotive is worthless in todays market. I had a girl who wouldn't call a dealer without a deposit of 500 to find an s5 and the thing is I have dealt with her before... sad.
