    Welcome to the IHoP

I couldn't deal with the heat, or the people. Both would drive me insane eventually. I know some pretty nice texans actualy. Somehow I have tropical peoples blood in me. I would rather be hot than cold most of the time.... maybe not texas hot though...

i think i wanna buy a hand gun

I would have rather you said I had a small dick honestly! I loose. I am large enough to conceal a 1911, or even a full xd .45. I also was also under the impression from a post some time back that Jon, the OP was big. Larger than me if I remember right. I have no way to defend my statements as mine are based on local people here and my trustign of their information, LE, what I have seen myself, and my own personal ergonomics. Can you provide something that referances the 9mm you refereanced to the equal in a .45 and how the .45 has more penitrating chance? It makes sense that it could be true, it just goes against what I have been told by other sources, and then the common misconception of stopping vs. penetrating.

i think i wanna buy a hand gun

I think you have good points, great in fact. Nothing wrong with the statement accept the compensating thing, I think that's kind of rude. I also think you have probably shot many many many many more rounds and maybe even been in a combat situation and I have not. I can't shoot ANYTHING with a small grip as the thickness of my palm also. Try to clear your head of your experience in the field for a moment though and lets take a look at what someone needs from a self defense weapon. The ability to shoot that gun and deal with the recoil from that weapon, and the abilility to conceal. From there I strongly feel your description of hitting a failure point is going to be verry unlikely for someone not in daily practice especialy when you take into account the lack of high adrenalyn training. If you haven't been in a situation before you will shake. I'm 100% all about the ability to stop someone in one shot. If I had a magic freeze the bad guy gun and it would do no harm to the surrounding people and to the assailent but would completely stop him, I would pick that. I think that is where my point and message gets lost. I know that people come up with cost frequently, but in this case, just like with the quality of ammo, cost shouldn't play a factor when taking a crap shoot with your life. In the neighborhood I grew up in, and the ones that are scarey now, no one will just run up and attack you randomly if they are in a sane mind save maybe a gang iniation. That would make up 1% of the issues. The rest of attacks are due to drugs or money. Usualy for money to buy drugs. In a situation where someone wan't my wallet, it's theirs, vs. me wyatt f'ing-erping them and fillin' 'em full of lead. If they violently aproach me or a loved one, then that's a different story. The attitude you have is that someone will have the clarity of mind while protecting their fiance or someone they care about. I challenge you to have a calm cool collected ability to recognise a human target adjust aim for the knee/head after watching 2 rounds pass through that target, your wife screaming, now instead of 10 feet he's 5 feet away, and then remembering to squeeze not pull. I think in a real life non combatant situation the 9mm round isn't optimal for 95% of the situations. If you need less recoil you can also find a gun that will have less. Maybe a revolver instead of a semi auto. More metal makes it much easier to control most of the time. Or maybe use a really tight suspension system on your auto. I think you are much more knowledgable than me about wepons no doubt, but I don't think in this situation, that having a .45 means compensation, I think it relates directly to more stopping and much less pass through likelyhood.

I don't even know why I let stuff like that get to me. I should just let it slide off my back, or make a phone call and be done with it.

My comment was more of a matter of etiquette is all supra. No offence taken and I hope none to you either. Here is a relivant question though, if everyone in a room with 20,000 people in it say that that an elephant just walked through the room, and everyone who has taken the time to talk to you tells this same story, it may be best to take their word for it. Waiting for an "expert" who is qualified isn't going to get you far. If you want expert reasons on why not having 2 drivers playing the same range of frequency, posting it in the advanced section someone will give you the technical data backing it. Otherwise, I would use the search functions and read on other posts as to why, and I promise you will find that nearly everyone will say and frequencies above 60hz or so should only have 1 driver per channel.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Last night at a local grocerie store some punk kid was shoplifting, he knew he was caught and dropped some stuff. OK that's not right... so then an employee bolts after him, shoulder checks the kid through the door, does a god damn clothesline slam and drops a knee into this kids back. Excessive to be sure but :meh:. Then the kid is all gagging "I can't breathe, get off. I'll pay for it, get off I can't breathe." Dood was stuck and not even fighting. If someone had an elbo in my head and a knee in my back I would have analiated them. I guess I also had more than double the weight on the employeeThen another batman vigilante customer drops a knee on this kids back. I snapped a few pics, and I'm teetering back and forth about what to do. I lost sleep over that for some reason. I don't knwo the kid, but questions of ethics always make my head spin.

holy chit did UPS fudge my box up.... completely crushed the padding on one of the inside braces of my driver. Thank god that fi makes a reasonably solid driver. It literally ripped the gasket off the rim of the driver on one side, and no other visible damage!! Good job Fi. bad job UPS

I would exercize the search button, but maybe Dave and/or Ramos will show up or someone who can explain in technical terms(cough devildriver cough). As for your comment I think you intended it differently than you said, but either way, case in point I would say Jim has more experience in how to work staging/imaging/tuning than 99% of people you will bump into in your life combined. I won't lie I'm no guru, nor can I explain to you exactly how it works... but the attitude of discrediting the people who have extended their experience to you isn't a good way to yeild positive results.
