Building a Home Theater Computer

I would suggest a higher end dual core. They are still blazing fast compaired to what it sounds like you are talking about and can be OCed with relative ease. make sure your case accepts 120mm fans. You can upgrade to liquid bearings if you want. The aren't cheep but they are silent. Cooling for processors have come a long way. I will post the cooling fan I use, and an article if I can find it. It keeps my quad core verry chilly. I say an aftermarket CPU fan is the best bet. Shiz, for a case I would look at the Hush by nzxt. I recomend to anyone looking for full atx and quiet. Comes deadened from the factory. I don't even put in new fans. I would only go dual gfx cards if you want to have several different displays in operation at the same time. And more over only if one or more will be doing some pretty tough math. The top of the line OCed single chip evnga I have, runs my 28" with no problem. It's amazing resolution. I am not brilliant enough to explain why dual cards are not that amazing and how the resources get chewed up doing other things, but when you look into high end machines, somehow gfx card xyz scores 100 for processing, but 2 of the same card will only get you a score of 110-120. That relates to maybe 1-2 fps. Research on oclockers.com and such. It's a big money sink and I promise you can run call of duty nearly maxed with good frame rate on a newer high end signle gfx card. -
Interesting, would love to drive a car with it to see how much it really helps and how it affects things. looks like permanent blue blocker shades for the whip.

Great gym exercise - punching people in the face!
dem beats replied to Dr Durden's topic in Hall Of Fitness
When I was lifting frequently I was "that big guy" at the gym. I was at a complete yuppie fest gym place. Cute girls that just pissed me off because they looks good and were filled with air, and guys in polo shirts trying desperately not to break a sweat. It was clean and close with a pool so it was perfect, save the clientel. My favorites were - Mr. gonna help you guy. WTF. I don't need your help. If I didn't ask you to spot me, don't come a running if I'm pushing hard and I get a bit red in the face. Beleive me. I'm not even a grunter or screaming lifter. fawk. - The 130 pound guy doing 10 pound dumbell presses, letting me know that I'm gonn hurt myself with that form. The guru told him that this "back side double knucckle roll tuck fist side hand 45 degree half hitch scissor grip" will really get me results like it did for him. No matter the fact I'm putting up 2 times his body weight. - The teenager. OMG. I was one, probably pissed someoen off in my day too. These are the worst because they were told by someone how to do something, and they are loyal like dogs to who ever got to them first. And they WILL hurt themselves. They also try to keep up with guys who have years training on them and look for the short cut. "you gotta be juicin' man!!! dude got a hook up?? If I was on juice I could totaly do more because....blah blah blah. Ronnie coleman eats babies that's why he's #1!!!". I never loose my temper on them, they haven't lived long enough to see the dedication it takes, and are sure they can do it. They infuriate me to no end, but really, they just need someone level headed to show them the ropes. Some are just arrogant and cocky though, and teach the other bad behavior. I wanna pop those maggots like grapes. Stack 1200 lbs on a sled and then sit on it. Then tell them this is what we do for reps. Heavy lifting is next week. -
looks great. I have been fascinated by sonotubes since the first one I saw.

TOP again. Today will be lucky I suppose. I have to meet with a damn weeding photographer tonight for our actual wedding next year. I want to get home and do some more work on the yard and get some poison on that fuggin evil shrubbery
-
I probably should have taken it easy on the yard work last night. I thought I was perfect come 5-6 oclock... But I feel hung over/dehydrated today. I did however clean out the water feature directly outside the door. The old ownes used blueing to stop alge, but we were concerned with the pets drinking it. I hope it doesn't grow too much crap in it. The bigger water feature however really killed me. It's about 30' by 20' or so I would guess, or at least the wild bush that has over run it takes up that much space. What ever it is, it's got thick roots. I'm going to need some kick ass herbacide.

kick ass. cute girls ftw

You're an animal sir!

I need a large dose of stimulants, perhaps a nice IV with a really good drip of hydrating fluids too. I feel like there is a hole in my brain.

I left 2 voice mails. I left the wrong adress on the first VM, so I called back. I felt like such a retard, but I committed to buying and price is fair enough to make it a deal.

Sean aren't you supposed to be out of here today? I did pull the trigger yesterday on the l8's Problem was is that I stayed home, and called my order in on migrain meds. It was awesome.

I really want to jump on the hybrid sale, and have the cash just waiting but is it possible to use the 8" without going IB? I simply cannot put it in the door.

LMK if you need help, or want a need a guy to assemble. Sounds like you have it all covered. Look into EVGA for GFX cards. I swear by them for performance and they are pretty well priced usual..

If you want it can be done. What's the budget? Undetermined, in things like a pc I feel that riding the wave of just barely not new anymore is the spot where being cost conscious and still getting the most bang for the buck long term works out the best. In my case the biggest expense will probably be the case, although I'd like the video card to be able to process 1080p for both the internet as well as if I use it to play movies. I think first I need to pick out the case, and cosmetics will play a role there but the focus is to be silent and hopefully fit in the spot on my a/v table where a receiver would normally go. I love just barely not new. Exactly the way I described my rig. I think for what you want the case will have to be the #1 also. Again, I can't even hear mine in a room. For the case, go as big as you can, is my recomendation. Internals are getting so big now that anything less than regular ATX size is no good unless you want to pay for premium laptop size peices. My GFX card is 10.5 inches long and even in a my case it's going to limit the size of aditional drives, if I ever increade my raid disk #

I have fallen in love with a dark beer called bender, it's made by surly and from here in MN. Brooklyn park I beleive. Amazing. It comes in cans which I was skeptical at first, but if you pour into a glass... Wonderfull.

I have never seen a problem with running it that far. If it was next to power cable the whole way or something... maybe... but you can usualy sheild spots like that. Sounds like you have a super plan already! I have so many projects I want to work on I'm loosing it. I really want to do a hot tub ATM, but the W is resistant.

Have you heard of there being an issue with windows/soundcards sending out a bad signal? I've never ever experienced it. That makes me pretty dang concerned. That freaks me out! Currently I put music through through the PC to the receiver, then speakers. That is a pretty nice unit. I will have to think on my plan some more, and I'm allowing myself to make changes at will. I can only imagine the nightmare if one of the satalite PC's goes down, and the frustration I would have there. I just see so many plus sides to the versatility and "cool" factor of having a touch screen pc in ever room.

Here is my display. I do not thin it has channel changer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824254026

I was confused, you already have a server for all of the media? This will just be a satalite to take the spot of DVD and CD and grab media from the big server? Thats is a sweet looking box though. My old pc is plenty fast for streaming music. My plan was to keep it in the basement next to the stereo gear and just use other pc's to remotely change what it is playing. MUCH easier. My machine is a raid server for the home and my personal game machine. The only issue I could see as not having it all in one, is for video. If the PC downstairs will just send data to one source you will be fine with any decent machine. Video may not work so hot, but who knows.
