    Welcome to the IHoP

Pretty simple course as far as I'm concerned. I mean, just look at the Course Objectives: --describe how information systems influence businesses and economies. --define and use current information system terminology. --differentiate between the various types of information systems and identify the correct type for a given situation. --define the basic technical characteristics of an up-to-date desktop computer. --describe the software development process and differentiate between the various types of software. --define the characteristics and types of databases, and identify the correct type for a given situation. --define the characteristics and types of communications links, and identify the correct type for a given situation. --use e-mail and the Internet to communicate and to gather information. --describe the impact that organizations and information systems have on one another, including the effects of new system implementation. --describe how managers use information systems to create competitive firms, manage global operations, and provide useful products and services to customers. --describe applications of electronic business & electronic commerce. --describe methods of acquiring and using knowledge, including expert systems and neural networks. --discuss current issues in information systems, including security, privacy, and ethics. --identify and use information sources suitable for keeping up-to-date with IS technology both for this course and for personal life-long learning. --investigate one or more current information system subjects as part of a team and present the findings both orally and in writing. half this stuff I've known since before high school

Not where I went to school. The more open the test the harder it was. I'd always prefer a no note scenario. I usually would too, but these tests for the most part are pretty simple; one of the short answer questions on the last exam was "explain the differences between a surge suppressor and a UPS" :ehh:

test tomorrow in the mornin...I need at least a 68.5 to maintain a B in the course...made an 83 on the first exam, 93 on the second....professor allows "two 8.5 x 11 pieces of paper" worth of notes to be used on the exam....think I can pull it off?

You do realize that true enthusiasts make up a minute percentage of the audio market, correct? The vast majority are ignorant and could care less. Sad thing is that is true for the good majority of every hobby I think... from my experience yes
