Its the same chassis as all the new 2009 F-150's. The 2009 F-150's frame is different than the 2004-2008 F-150's, which is maybe what they meant? The main difference between an F-150 4WD and an F-150 Raptor are: 35" BFG A/T's Front and Rear Lockers Suspension Front Fenders, Hood, Grille Basically a right off the showroom pickup that will traverse pretty much any off road trail out there. Can you build a more capable 4WD vehicle for 40 grand? Can you build a comparable vehicle for much less money? Of course you can. Just have to ask yourself how much time and effort are you willing to spend, and whether or not you have the tools necessary to do it AND it's all under warranty. Put all that shit on a new truck and then try to get warranty work done. True

All '09 F-150's now have both the shocks and springs outboard from the frame; its one of their selling features I thought they've had that for a couple years already? At least I thought I remember seeing the commercials with Mike Rowe with two frames rocking, one with outboard and one with inboard shocks, showing the differences, quite a while ago. Maybe...dunno

By adding the long travel suspension, they also simultaneously increased the track width of the vehicle because they used longer A-Arms. They most likely added spacers on the rear axle to match the track width of the front. That way they could use the stock width F-150 rear axle.

Here's the Peterson's article I was referring to: http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/featuredvehicles/131_0904_2010_ford_f150_raptor_svt/index.html

the new Raptor? If you do end up getting a Raptor you better not pussy foot around in it...remember reading about it in either Peterson's or Four Wheeler, they thrashed the piss out of one and it just begged for more...good to see OEM's churning out capable 4x4's from the showroom floor... Now if only Dodge had put the Cummins in the Power Wagon... Yeah the new one. With the 6.2 when it comes out. I have been reading and I think that engine will be AMAZING. 500HP, locking rear AND front diffs, 35" BFG A/T's, insane articulation, sounds like fun to me wasn't it 400 hp and 400 tq? 500 sounds fine though too. I think it would be great snuggled up with some turbos too. http://www.fordvehicles.com/f150raptor/ I'm impressed to see Fox shocks in a stock vehicle And Peng, insane articulation ? Come on, it has IFS Insane for a stock vehicle 11" of wheel travel front, 13" rear pretty sure they're remote reservoir shocks to boot
