Word. Can't recall how many times I've had the poop scared out of me playing FPS' with my Sony V6's but its quite a lot.

Bare minimum for critical listening, maybe. If you're just fragging and jamming though there are asstons of great sealed cans for 150 or less. Nothing wrong with the three you listed, but why spend 2-3x as much if you don't have to?

All overkill for that...by a lot. See I want some overkill. The damn gym gets loud as hell at times (damn popular music on their radio) and I like drowning it out. Any good 'outside noise cancelling' headphones that can get loud as shit on just an iPod? I am going replace mine soon, and so far the Beats by Monster have sounded the nicest while blocking out outside noise. J Etymotic MC5; same IEM style as the Beats but at about half the price and oh my GOD do mine sound good. Scary good sound isolation even when the music is off

it truly takes boring crap like this to appreciate the nice things in life...like studying for that midterm tomorrow...

Which is why its good to have places locally that sell these products so you try them on. Honestly if all you're doing is playing games and listening to tunes I'm pretty sure either the M50's or HD 448's will be plenty

hand drawing P&ID's for two hours...fun

Grado SR 60i's are cheaper still. but not sealed
-
Only issue is that they're open, not sealed; their M50's are supposed to be comparable in quality in a sealed design.
-
Sennheiser HD 448's are even cheaper
-
Those Audio Technica's have a reputation for being comfortable for long listening periods; they're also half the price of the others
-
Noise isolation a necessity?

you sound like one of those fancy pants people with one of these "jobs" must be nice

Beacuse groups that contribute to politicians have strong desires to see the failing programs continue beacuse it benifits them. Therefor the elected reps vote to keep things in favor of their sponsors going. If I give you 250,000 to help you stay in power and it is in my interests to see something continue that fails are you going to want to do whats right, or are you going to want to keep the gravy train going? They choose the gravy train. The biscuit wheels on that bitch make the deal even sweeter for them. J Very sad,but true. While we're on the subject *unzips fly* *pisses on Homeland Security and No Child Left Behind Acts* *zips fly* ahhh, much better *edited for accuracy*

Oooh, new bullet train debuted in Japan over the weekend; cruising speed 300Km/h, ~186 MPH
