Five Guys is the only chain I know of that haven't followed this trend ...yet

Imagine that, they sell inedible food. I wish McPukes, BurgerK, Wendys and TacoBell would follow suite. The world would be a way better place without them. its just one of those establishments that has a place in my heart, no matter how shitty it is I know, I'm weird

Yes, then that clever capitalist would expand, first regionally, then nationally, then globally, sacrificing quality for quantity and we're back where we started

The 4L/T80E seems to be pretty damn bulletproof. Abuse and neglect will kill anything though. I find it hard to believe that not changing the transmission fluid will kill a 4L60E though. I'm not sure on how many cars go to the junkyard with factory transmission fluid, but I bet its a lot. Now I will believe that they put a severe lack of tranny fluid cooling and that in turn will kill it, but just use, no way. Maybe. When they pulled the transmission the first time on the Suburban the fluid resembled wet concrete.

This guy on DIY just made a big pile of rocks, laid chickenwire on top, poured concrete on top of that, and then stained and acid etched the thing look like a boulder

sealed for life transmissions might exist, but the 4L60 sure ain't one of them. Also, fuck Dex-Cool.

I bet you 8 or 9 times out of 10 they didn't replace the fluid. 4L60's usually fail every 110-120k miles if not properly maintained. The Suburban's went out at 110 due to not being maintained and when we traded it in with 230 on the clock the transmission was on its death bed (again, no maintenance). The Silverado (which had a fluid swap and filter change by the previous owner) was at 130 when we traded it in and ran like a champ.

The part of the story I don't like is that the little boy gave up looking for Happy after an hour. He didn't put posters up or anything, he just sat on the porch like a goon and waited. That little boy's gotta think 'You got a pet. You got a responsibility.' If your dog gets lost you don't look for an hour then call it quits. You get your ass out there and you find that fucking dog!!
