    Forum Upgrade Bug Report

Javascript bloated side bar thingamajigger makes loading topics horrendously slow, an option to disable it would be nice. Spellcheck on Firefox 10.0.2 does not work.

You need more power. I have a monster track for the trail and can still break it loose a lot. Will pull "wheelies" at 40mph without having a clutch to dump as well. Power to weight is the fun. Oh, and I have mine setup to not pull wheelies as I like to have my skis on the ground when I need to turn. No apehanging to show off here, but modulating the front to bang the bumps you bet. 250cc two stroke is plenty of power for everything I do. Only time I'm wot is for a few straight-aways throughout the trails, maybe twenty seconds max. You wouldn't want to hold my sled WOT for 20 seconds unless you had A LOT of space. That being said I peg the flipper as much as possible, well at least early in the day, later on you get a little softer on things. For me, open space is a quarter mile run. I believe I top out around 65 70, but really all the fun is acceleration, and turns. Same here. I can choose to find more wide open but that isn't normal. Instead of single track though we ride on trails that are usually between 6-10' wide with lots of tight corners and tree's on both sides. Extremely similar only everything happens quicker and more safely on a snowmobile. Yep yep. No cactus is a plus, too. Even though cactus is more forgiving then a tree. I'd rather break a bone than be stabbed by needles

Not looking for an asston of power, just maybe about 330-360 HP peak with a decent torque curve. Plenty of power for me and it wouldn't require a performance rebuild of the 4R70W, although a shift kit/J-mod might be in the cards. Maybe trans/engine coolers as well, but I don't think those would be necessary either. Decent amount of cam overlap for a loping idle wouldn't be bad either.

And honestly, if it doesn't have a distributor I'm really not all that knowledgeable so I'll take all the help I can get.

Although now that I think about a Crown Vic would work just as well and is a far cooler platform to customize. what kinda custom? and what year were you thinking? '03+ with the factory 235/55-17 tires (I forget the trim level). Metco control arms for the rear, ADDCO sway bars front and rear, Eaton Detroit Spring Police/Taxi 1 1/2" coils & shortened Police/Taxi KYB Gas-a-Justs all around, and a set of Z rated all seasons (Continental ExtremeContact DWS, General G-MAX AS-03, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, etc.) for handling. Probably swap the cams, have the heads milled & a computer tune for performance. Headers and exhaust to improve sound. I've also been kicking around the crazy idea to move the gas tank out of the trunk and under the rear floorboards along with modifying the rear suspension bridge and trunk pan to give the trunk a flat floor. I figure there's a good 5-8 cu ft. extra room there. Modify the rear seats too with hardware from a donor vehicle so they can fold down. Might work, might not. I haven't crawled all over one in a while.

I only say an Escape because a vehicle that size is about the biggest tow vehicle I'd ever need. Ya know, if I actually towed something on a regular basis. Although now that I think about a Crown Vic would work just as well and is a far cooler platform to customize.

I'd prefer an Escape or Explorer EcoBoost though.

It starts thundering something fierce so I figured I'd go ahead and feed the dogs early. So I open the back door and Willie (the alpha) damn near knocks me down trying to get in to the mud room. Chicken shit is the second in command and is terrified of thunderstorms.

Have you tried routine (2 or 3 times a week) strenuous exercise? About the only thing that works for me

Casa Rio, Bohanan's, La Margarita, Boudro's and Mi Tierra are must eats. Lots of great shopping at Artisan's Alley, Southtown (lots of galleries in Southtown too), Trader's Village, La Villita Market Square. Lots of touristy crap like pub crawls, tours, and the like. I would check out the Alamo, if only to look at it. There's a real nice mall right across the street from it, too.
