9:30 AM and the heat index is already 106F. Dog days indeed...

Technically you cannot void a warranty through a chip unless they can prove without a doubt that the chip caused the failure. Unless its a Ford EcoBoost

How does it compare to the ML63, X5M, Cayenne Turbo or Grand Cherokee SRT8?

Might be a silly question, but is there an alt on the motor? Most 90's SBC's came with a 100A Bosch unit, dunno if they used those for marine applications though. Delcos, my man. Bosch will never find it's way onto a factory Chevy. Oh that's right, Delco. To be fair the new GM trucks do come with Bosch wipers

Nah, just go get some chain link fence posts. They're plenty strong

I'm confused.... Me too obviously. 4wd/awd, can tow, is fast, and can handle. I'm not excited with what is on the market so I thought having something built might be fun. The ridiculousness of a HD truck that is dropped sounded fun...that and diesel power boosters are sweet. The first two are readily achievable. For the third you're either going to have to change your definition of "handles good" or you're going to have to do some work with the suspension. Especially with a diesel. I figured I'd have to be rid of the whole suspension and replace it with Airide/Beltech etc. You'll probably have to do more than that if you want ML63/Grand Cherokee SRT8 type handling, considering a fully dressed Powerstroke weighs in the neighborhood of 1,000 lbs.

I agree, but I am a redneck; driving farm trucks like they're race cars is kind of a requirement.

And if you want to play with turbos there's always the EcoBoost

They probably also have a few generic branded mesh chairs there too. I've never been in a Staples/OfficeMax/Office Depot and not found a comfy office chair.

Go down to Staples/OfficeMax/Office Depot and try an Office Star SPACE Air Grid. They're fairly comfy and affordable.

I've seen plenty, but they all used either an airbag suspension or some type of lowering kit, both of which are typically for looks, not performance. If you want the truck to really handle recessing the firewall or a front axle stretch would be the first step, followed by custom suspension front and rear. Dropping the motor and/or trans in the frame would help plenty, as well.
