    need alot of speaker help

i need alot of help... I have a 2001 toyota avalon xl with the JBL upgrade with 2 type r's in the trunk connected to a kicker zx1000. My stock sub just blew and i want to get new speakers for the interior.. Does anyone know what size i have in the front and rear, and what is a good setup for both? Also any way to replace the factory amp too? if so what brands? I have no idea how much power (RMS) the stock speakers are already so if anyone knows that, then that will be a big help cuz i could try to see how powerful i would want to go... its alot of questions, im a noob wit this stuff to be honest...its my first car and first system thank you

    problem with amp i think

alright cool thank you...the only thing is, is that it is a stock headunit and it seems to be working fine, but maybe its something internal My dad also has a avalon with the same headunit and hes never had problems with it so maybe ill just switch it out... the only thing is is that his avalon has 200k miles on it haha
  3. hello, i recently got 2 alpine type r's professionally installed in my trunk with a kicker 1000.1 mono amp. It was blasting nd bumping for about 2 weeks then i realized that they needed to be mounted because they moved around too much. I got them mounted and they started to make a strange noise. I took it to the installed nd they "fixed" it by fixing the ground substance or whatever....I turned the car on and the noise is still there. I took out the "phone line wire" from the amp and it still makes the noise, the installer said it was probably something wrong with the amp but im not too sure... the subs make a loud croaking nd buzzing sound even when i have them set at 0. And if i crank them, the amp will cut out nd a red light will show up can anyone help diagnose the problem? thanks

    problem with amp i think

thanks...yea the guy unhooked a wire from the type rs nd put it on the factory sub and it made a weird ass noise similar to the original noise. The guy trouble shooted all the wired nd said everything was alright... im jus trying to save shipping it to Oklahoma u knw?

    problem with amp i think

this is insane. when i meant by cranking them, i meant that i just turned the volume up a little...the controller goes up to 11 and the highest ive ever put it was 6, cuz they are very powerful subs. I have never turned them up all the way, and to fbi90909: i have a stock headunit from JBL that was a factory upgrade to the car when it was bought. everything was installed by a pro from tweeter...like i said, everything was working fine until the subs moved around too much and yanked a wire out, the wire was put back in and it makes the weird noise. it is not the installers fault at all.

    Capacitor ques.

This is my setup and i need advice to see if i need a capacitor or not. 2001 toyota avalon xl 2 Type r's 1222d Kicker zx1000 Kenwood double din headunit This is my first system and the people at the electronics store said that i need a cap but i cannot be sure. I dont know how to do the big three upgrade. My question: Do i need a capacitor and if i dont have one will my lights be dim? and Will the alternator and battery be able to handle the power without sacrificing the dimming of lights and other electrical problems? i think the alternator gives out 80 amps stock and with the car on it is between 13.5-14.5V thanks
