Does IA recone other companies motors?
thacarter546 replied to thacarter546's topic in Incriminator Audio
I genuinely hate TC sounds soft parts Im looking for soft parts that will last. I still want some good options. TC's Glue ALWAYS fails on me. ALways. I know IA and Fi both have good soft parts. -

Hi Im very interested in getting my TC-3hp motor rebuilt. I was wondering if you could come up with a recone kit for it. I have the TC-3000 top assmbly. Would you be able to re-use the basket? Would I need to send the motor in or would you be able to send out a re-cone kit? What would the costs be? basically the former on the TC soft parts seperated from the titanium cone. I have had nothing but problems with the TC soft parts. I definitely want a fiber, paper, or plastic cone. The box I am using is 2.94 cubic feet tuned to 34 hz with 56 square inches of port and I am shooting for around 1500 watts rms power handling. Do I have any options with the recone kit?

Will you be able to meet my power handling needs? Would I get my choice of color in dust cap. What would the recone kit be most similar to?

Thanks for the reply what can you do as far as a recone? Do I have any options?

Hi, I was very interested in having Fi rebuild my tc-3000 I dont know what re-cone kits you all have available or any specs on them. I would much rather deal over the phone if possible. It is a tc-3hp motor with the quick swap basket. It is 15" and I would like it to remain 15" the box I am using is 2.94 cubic feet tuned to 34 hz with 56 square inches of port. I would like the re-cone to be able to handle around 1500 watts at 1 ohm. What do you all have available, what are the prices, and would I have to send it in to you? Would I use my existing basket or would that need to be replaced?

Any chance that enough of these have been done that you guys could send out a recone kit or would I have to send the motor in? I am not happy with the power handling offered by the TC Sounds top assembly.

Bump any help? Is there any other reccomendations? $20ish and it has to have a grille.

Neither is better for a car or a truck/suv. You build an enclosure to suit your ears and your drivers. A ported box will definitely go low if tuned that way. 28-36 hz tuning frequency will give you plenty of output down low. You can go around an octave lower than your tuning point before output suffers and you have problems with over excursion.

JBL does, but they are owned by Harmon Kardon as well.

I would consider anything from 130-150 a loud daily car. At these high levels permanent hearing damage will happen gradually. My truck is in the low fortys and I have a permanent ringing as is.

You can get to a moderately high volume and retain decent listenable quality. It may not be a sound quality set-up, but it will retain enough sound quality to listen to daily and not fatigue your ears. That is what is meant by LOUD SOUND QUALITY. Argue about it all you want, but MOST end users are not looking for a specific spl set-up or a specific sq set-up. MOST people want an acceptable middle ground between the two. That being said he listed the mojos as being acceptable to his ears and they sound horrendous by any standards.
