Are you talking about RE Audio? I know that Scott use to own RE and sold it to start Fi. I didnt know they charged more for there woofers. I only see the RE's on ebay and they seem reasonable. But getting it direct with a good warranty is preferable.

Heck ya, for $350 thats a steal. Nice thing is, you can use it for a year or so and probably still sell it for $350 to $400. Great resell value, Great woofer, will handle lots of power and sound great. Where can you go wrong? http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh302/v...CHARGER%20SRT8/

OK, I am going to get a little more specific. I have an F150 crew cab, that right now I have 2 cheap planet audio 10"s under the rear seat. I am looking for a set of subs to replace these that will get louder. the mounting depth is 4 3/4 inches, max. And will play in an enclosure of .5 cu ft. Or has anyone used the single 10 in a ported enclosure under the seat? Or does anyone have any other ideas for a crew cab f150 that is still a family truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two subs that I am looking at so far that will fit are the JL 10w1v2 or the Kicker comp10.

A very popular class of amp, 1200 @ 2 for lowbucks
valladon replied to jack's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Might want to add JBL to the list, they make some pretty solid amps. I just bought another bpx2200.1 and px300.4, cause I really like the SQ and SPL mix. But I hear the GTO line is really good as well. But dont be afraid of the Hifonics, best dollar to watt that I have spent. As far as the Lanzar, the opti series use to be the shizzle, back in the day I had 4 lanzar 12's and 2 opti 500's, it was the baddest thing around at the time. But since pyramid (circle sound) bought them out, I have seen a decline in the amps. Of course I really only have hands on experience with the vibe line. That is why I asked about the lanzar. -

I admit I have never used em, but how did the lanzar get up on your list? -

Did you even read my post? I never said they were the same. Have you owned them or are you talking from what you have heard from others? I can say that I have run both in the same car as well as other amps. And I know what I have heard. If you think they are underrated, then you should see my poor accord shake apart from the two RE SE10's. Of course the biggest amp that I have owned is a JBL bpx2200.1 and I cant say that it was twice as powerful as the Hifonics. So that leads me to believe that it is rated accurately. If you have any test reports that shows it grossly underrated, I would definately like to see them. Cause I am not claiming to be right, just giving my opinion -

I got low on cash and sold my zapco's and replaced them with a Hifonics bxi1606d and zxi6406. (running two RE SE10's ported) I gotta say, I am very impressed with these amps. The sub amp will pound for hours and not get hot, I dont think it overrated cause it seems to do the power it says. Makes my poor little accord shake violently. I was really worried about sound quality, but although they are not on the same level as the Zapco's the sound quality is very good. Plus, I now have about 1200 watts more system power for less than half the price and it is not killing my electrical system as bad. -
Does anyone know if the Symbilink cables from Zapco will work in the balanced input of the Hifonics Brutus and Zues amp?

Yea, I asked this question on several different forums. -
Zapco and Hifonics

Because I like the way it sounds in the Zapcos, and the lowered noise floor. Hopefully I will gain the same results in the Hifonics. Funny thing is, I change my equipment so much I probably will change amps before I get around to hooking up the symbilink. -

I gotta say, I bought a Hifonics bxi1606 to replace the zapco 500.1 (needed cash so I sold it) and I was really impressed. The sound quality is not quite up to the Zapco level, but its good, I got a ton more power, my lights dont dim as much when the bass hits. And it doesnt get as hot or shut down as easy. The most impressive part of the whole thing is I paid 1/3 what I paid for Zapco. Not sure I will stay with Hifonics, but I am sure liking what I hear so far. I would give the Hifonics Brutus amps a big thumbs up. -
Has anyone tried painting the cone of a subwoofer? I know that you cant really use regular paint because of adding weight to the cone and changing the t/s parameters. But is there anyway to do this, I am just trying to completely black out the sub. So you dont see the company logo. I want a clean black sub. Any opinions would be appreciated. I dont want to go with sharpie option either.
