sounds good would love to hear that setup again. especially done right!

flex seems heavier. some chunks of glass were falling on the dash during my runs old setup burped a 150.7 on 43hz tuning (43hz note) and a 148 on 30hz tuning (34hz note). have not mic'd this yet and didnt do db drag at the show because I couldn't afford another 60 dollars since it was a 3X. it seems that there is something wrong with both of my termlab sensors so i am going to reload my termlan software to try and fix the problem. Car was averaging nothing more then a 148 on my sensors and as soon as I got on sams mic i had some room to work the mic more so i am guessing it was a 151 to 152 Avg when I was bringing my score up. I will let you know what the new numbers are once everything is working right

ill check ouch its three hours from the shop

ill check

gotcha are you rebuilding the whole thing or using it as a base for some upgrades?

i was wondering where you were at man

sounds good. let me know how they do at that voltage.

thanks for the props man Now I would like to thank Jacob Fuller. The amps are sick. Voltage never dropped below float and the amps were ice cold after every run operating at .5 ohms. Very impressive amplifiers. Don't mind the hushmat on my roof, I had to cover up the steel with something on both sides because it was ripping pretty bad. Awsome show' I didn't get the qualifying run on tape im glad someone else did. The woofers are finally broken in nice and evened out. Gains are set all the way down and I can still turn them up full tilt now (I have seen some sensative inputs on amps but nothing like these). Car ended up having more legroom then I thought. in my last run they still kept getting louder. I was just afraid to keep turning them up because it looked like they were in xmax. Hesitated on the wholeshot for the last run. Oh well, I had a great time anyway. the french guy that won deserved it anyway...told me he drove eight freakin hours to the show. i will try and upload the other runs soon

cool i didnt know that was you. pm me with your cell if you get the chance i would like to keep in touch.

yes i talked to kent for you from h and k qualifying starts in the morning at 9 or 10 I gotta leave at 6 in the morning. I think taking the box back to 35hz was a mistake on the mic (I also deadened the roof and I was afraid it would hurt my score in the lower freq range on the mic). Tuning to my lower peak has not given me enough room for the 49 class. It gets there but I need to have more legroom and the ability to do multiple runs with the car off without struggling my way to a 149.9 - Burps a 152.2 right now. I am going to take the box back to 43hz tonight. there is a huge gain with the windows down or doors open but thats not going to help me on a legal scoring system in bass race. One sub is hitting harder then the other for obvious reasons right now (one is more broken in). I would also like to get a maxxlink in order to help keep line voltage matched. I had to use those chitty Y adapters at the shop for now. Take a look at the video. You will see that one woofer is hitting harder then the other. Gains are matched but the impedance on the woofer I broke in is 2.3 per coil. the new woofer is 2.7 Overall, need to get everything situated the way I want it before I can do any accurate testing. I can't stand having the woofers not hit exactly the same. I know it has the be hurting my score too.

didnt i ask you for fullers phone number because i lost it?

well its about three in the morning and i just got home from the shop. everything is in. all four amps on both ultras. The efficiency of these amps is impressive. driving around close to full tilt i never saw anything less then 13volts. the output is distgusting. I can't imagine how this is going to sound when i tune the box back to 30hz. 35 right now is really painful to sit in the car.

I remember how small that car really is in the back. Are you trying to keep the entire setup in the rear hatch or are you looking to use the back seat also? I ripped out the foam that rises the trunk floor up about 8" so i gained 8" depth on the trunk I can fit MAX airspace about 5.2 after displacements i got my airspace down to 4.1 for 2 12's problem is they can only face up or forward... Good thing is the entire roof is made of thick glass.... So i was wondering which would sound better sub up port up or sub up port back... Most def. fire the port back. You want the main wave firing into some type of area of resonation with your tuning that low. It would sounds almost like free air if you had everyting firing up.

thats what its sounding like to me

nice i very impressive for one 12

According to Fuller if I am dropping to 12 Volts with the amplifiers strapped it will actually be close to 9000 RMS per woofer, because it drops the load to .5 the way his amps strap. heres the link to the video of the one off one sundown at 1 ohm right now. Have not had the time to mic it yet.

Thats the million dollar question. From what I have researched online the a memphis 16-mcd4kw against a sundown loses. Not to mention those amps were fairly inefficient. There are too many other factors in my vehicle that have changed to do an accurate test. Yes, I could try just two sundowns on two of the 18's but it will also be on the LMS Ultra line not not the regular LMS woofers. So with tuning being different, the parts in my woofers being different, I couldn't give an accurate comparison. The link to the video should be on one of my other threads. For how well the new one is performing it is still being heavily unpowered compared to the LMS line.

Any hatchback vehicle I have ever tried firing the port up in with the woofer has not worked too well unless I am tuning over 45hz. Keep in mind this is just a generalization because all cars have different peaks. If you can get away with firing the woofers back with the ports that is what will work best. In a TC is doubt that would be happening though if your working with 15s or 18's.

thanks I would be happy to email it but my account will not let me send files that large. I will be hosting it with some of my other tracks soon and will give you the link on this thread

I am currently building a wall for a customer at the shop that is going to house a XXX 18 with two sealed 12" re series woofers for mid bass (customer insisted this not me). Here are some pictures of my progress. Net volume is 16 cubic feet with 160 square inches of port. Amplifiers consist of a USamps MD3D for the 18 an MD1D for both 12" woofers Elecitrical is lacking (KHC2400/1800/600) - customer ran out of money though, After all the other items he purchased for the install it came out to be over 17000 dollars.

thanks guys that sounds good I am cutting it close on the amplifiers.. jake is shipping my last two wednesday the 26th and the show is the 30th (29th is just qualifying). It would be great if anyone could meet me there. I will get details on the exact location from kent at h and k car audio. I tossed one of the 18s in at 1 ohm on a sundown last night after I finished the other car at the shop. needless to say just the one sounds damn impressive even in some piece of crap box i had layin around the shop. If shipping is on schedule which I doubt because of the holiday I should get the amps the 29th. just enough time to drop em in for the 30th. The last two i ordered arrived in 3 business days. i hope these do to. Fuller is sick right now so I don't know when he is going to be shipping them wednesday...
