    SI prototype pics!!

Sent you an email Nick, from [email protected] I'm a couple hours away, I've got plenty of time, three 15" enclosures, a hatchback, a 500 RMS amp, a 3200RMS amp......and a wallet if this baby is as impressive as I'm expecting :-D. -Alex EDIT - Actually, the 3200RMS amp I have at my disposal is the same one in your sig, V900HC. 500 RMS from a SoundStream Rubicon 502.

    ^ Good man there.

    15" RL-p Physical Displacment??

I'm thinking of doing two 15" RL-p because of the low box requirement. My question is, how much does the basket/magnet assembly displace, per woofer?? Also, is 1800 RMS enough for a pair of these? Or should I step it up to 2500 or so? Also #2, is 3 4" Aeroports enough port area for this install? I'm thinking I will have major port noise unless I step up to 4 4" Aeroports. Is 3 okay?? Thankyou!! Alex

    How big of a Diff.

I remember you from SPLBassX. You actually have ES series, not the PBX, same cone, different sub. If you step up from ES 12s, to PBX 15s, the difference will be huge.

    Mag 15 w/ 600 RMS?

How well do these babies boogie with only 600 RMS? Thanks!!

    Mag 15 w/ 600 RMS?

I'm thinking of using a 4 channel amp to run my whole system. The amp I'm thinking of using will do 600 @ 1 Ohm into two channels bridged. Then I've got the other 75 RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms for the highs. Definately want to go ported, for output. Box wise, I was considering 4 cubic foot at 33 hz.

    13" w7 vs 15" Brahma

Have you made the enclosure yet? Take some tips from us, and use the proper power, you should be louder. What are the vehicles? Does he have a box yet? Is it sealed or ported?

    XMAX King?

Xmax isn't everything :-p. I doubt the Jackhammer ever sees production personally. Treo has a weird way of doing their xmax, rating it at P2P and not linear. Same way MA Audio rates theirs. What is the xmax on the W7 BTW????

    orion 6.2 or re re's

That doesn't really make a whole lotta sense man. I would take the p6.2s or RE over top of the line audiobahn. It really doesn't matter where the product falls in a lineup, you can't compare like that between companies.

    RE's new sub

Okay..... So, you feel that companies should not produce big subwoofers because they are not useable in your vehicle. Thats basically what some of you have said. Lets put that into perspective. I can't fit a 350V8 in my 2001 Cougar, but I'm not going to tell Ford and Chevy to stop producing big blocks. Now you start to discredit a company simply because of its bandwagon? Sure the bandwagon is annoying, but its no reason to discredit a company. SI, PB, and SS just haven't gotten launched into the internet mainstream quite yet. When they do, and when they get their bandwagon, will you start to dislike them? Now look at on a larger scale; RE, Treo, DD, and eD all have their bandwagons here on the net. Go out into the real world and you will be hard pressed to find many people who have heard of them. Our internet community is a small one and we can't help but have a multitude of people pushing a particular brand. Not to mention we are all educated (most of us anyway) and of course we will all be praising a select group of companies. RE, DD, Treo, SS, SI, and PB are all good companies regardless of their bandwagons around here. US Amps has a huge band wagon on the net, does that make their amps horrible? Throwing soft parts at finals? I can see that, woofers go through some extreme torture. Go talk to Scottie personally though, he still loves RE. Did you see the number of treo subs laying on the floor at finals?? It happens, its going to happen. On the subject of REs new superwoofer, I wouldn't group it with the Jackhammer. From all I can tell, the Jackhammer is marketing bullchit. 300 and something lbs? At least RE designs for somewhat practical use. According to them, this new superwoofer is not any heavier than the XXX, I actually remember reading David post it was LIGHTER. When did 6 cubes gross become a big deal for a 15" woofer? There are tons of 15s out their that want 6 cubes NET. 3.5 cubes for a 15 is a quite modest enclosure. If size is an issue, you won't be looking at a 15 anyway, especially not a ported 15. Sorry for the rant or w/e. This is my first post in like 6 months lol, got me outta the wood work.

    SX and the XXX

    RE8- $49 (Single 2) RE10- $59 (Single 2) RE12- $69 (Single 2) SE10- $149 (Dual 4) SE12- $169 (Dual 4) SE15- $199 (Dual 4) SX10- $249 (Dual 2) SX12- $259 (Dual 2) SX15- $279 (Dual 2) SX18- $329 (Dual 2) XXX10- $359 (Dual 2) XXX12- $369 (Dual 2) XXX15- $399 (Dual 2) XXX18- $439 (Dual 2) MT10- $409 (Dual 2) MT12- $419 (Dual 2) MT15- $449 (Dual 2) MT18- $489 (Dual 2) There is a $25.00 charge to upgrade the XXX or MT line to a dual 1, dual 4, or quad 2 ohm. I dont think the RE series are SVC 2 ohm any more though, everything else here is correct I think.

    8" woofers

137.2 SEALED at the dash????? See I hate dB numbers they piss me off. I had six re 8s ported with 1200 watts and only hit a 141 at the kick...but to me it was loud!! Just the meter owned it...grrr...New Termlab

    SQ Just an illusion

I have heard many a system, and honestly...no system I have EVER heard sounds "bad" every system does sound different though. I have taken a TON of subs and probably gone through 12 boxes in my hatch. None of them sounded remotely bad. So, I have started to just ignore SQ, the only time I have heard a system that wasnt up to par, it was a box issue. I'll be making the ultimate test here soon. I will be doing a setup with a dB drive platinum 15, everyone I talk to says they have very low SQ. So, I'm going to throw 2000 daily to one in a good box, and SQ to a rest. -Alex

    2 re se 12s vs single 12" magnumd2

From the way it looked the SEs would be sealed and the SI ported? At 500 watts the SI will fall behind the SEs At 1200 watts the SEs will fall behind. Thats how I would see it going down. Porting a subwoofer correctly has the same effecct as adding another sub with equal power.

    How yall been

Go buy an 18" MT and take his 5000 watt challenge. Use your own box, don't let him put it in one.
  24. cougarballa2k5

    Which sub(s)

At that power I'd get the SEs. Bump it up to 2k rms....the xxx will start to walk away in output I'd think. Power aside.....I love 15s....get the XXX anyway lol
