    Frequency Response

I have an IA 20.1 on order and am thinking of going with two Mag D2 15s for it. I designed a box that is 7 @ 30hz w/ 90in^2 vent area. I was wondering if you guys had tried that type box yet and just how does it do? Does it start to dip after 50hz? I am sure it wil probably ring my bell from 30 - 50hz. I am just worried it won't do much afterwards. About where would you said my 3dB down point would be? Also, I have a goal of a 146+ new TL with this setup Legal on music. 98 explorer....think that is too lofty of a goal?? Thanks :-D -Alex

    Frequency Response

Another question. If I tuned this box down to like 28hz, so I could really shake some chit -- would I then start to have trouble over 50hz? I really want something that will rumble like hell.

    Frequency Response

I designed my box man, check it out and tell me what you think. 41.5 wide (wheel well to wheel well) 14.75 high (well under the window line :-D) 31 deep (6" of firing room for the port) 16 x 5.75 port (92in^2) I figured it up to be right at 7.2 or so ft^3 net. I also calculated that a 21" long port will put me somewhere from 30 - 33hz. Does that look good to you bro? Enough port area? Port length correct?

My new install :-) Lots of photos

Is 3 6" aeros enough port area for a system of this magnitude? I'm wavering on the idea of 4 mag 15s also....and if three 6" aeros would work. 8 4"ers should surely do the job?

    Powerbass 3000d & Hollywood Sound Labs 3000D

Is it true that hollywood's plant turns out your amps? Just curious
  9. I heard that the powerbass 3000 and hollywood 3000 are the same amp? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thx Alex

    Has anyone bought an RLS?

Similar to one of the eD fiascos. The difference is Mike knows how to handle his business! Didn't leave a single customer hanging!

    Projected RL-s Demo-Ring Time Slots

That would be me, dang we did get pushed back didn't we!! Hey I see it still says SC, remember its FL now :-D. Cool beans though, gives me more time to plan for testing. I am considering an ABC, with AudioControl #s of course :-D

    Rl-P 15s get a new home!!!!

Sunday I am building a Quasi-Eighth Order Series Tuned Bandpass :-D. This should be quite interesting. Its designs up to a nasty looking box!! I am slamming 148.3s right now with the standard ported box. My hopes are to get a solid 150 out of the pair AND gain SQ, which supposedly this baby should do! *still wonders where his RL-s is :-D*

    Rl-P 15s get a new home!!!!

Nope. Its a variation of an ABC box. Slightly different approach, said to get louder. Buddy of mine clued me in on it. If it turns out great, I'll right a tutorial. I'm going to meter my car from 30 - 80hz and then do the same with the new box, see what kind of gains it has vs a standard ported.

    Small favor to ask

I get a feelin I am missing out on same great SQ...transients and the like... I am sitting at 2.75 @ 36..I bet the 8hz drop in tuning to 28 would yeild some great SQ increases. Though it would probably get some SPL loss

Id like to see the graphs too. *wonders where the RL-s is*

    Underpowering My RL-ps

Well, I've been thinking that my RL-p 15s are underpowered. I have them down at 1 ohm on a Planet Audio 2250d that has been tested to do ~1600 rms. I have heard of people throwing 1000 - 1200 per Rl-p. I most definatley have the room to go mechanically, I just wonder if I dump 2k+ at the pair....will I run into some seriously limiting thermal problems? Box is 5.5 NET....is it just a box issue as to why my excursion isn't a ton? It gets loud...but I think there is even more bottled inside these puckers.

    4 RLP 15's

My calculations show a tuning of 30.65 :-D lol.

    Good News!! GOOD NEWS

I got a job at an audio shop :-D. When I get the RL-s in my hands, OH BOY. I basically can do whatever I want with it here. Power is easy to get, and I can slap out boxes like no one's business. Sweet!! Oh the job, I'm starting at minimum wage and after I get the hang of it I'll be on commision. 6.15 an hour, 3% of my sales, 50% of my installation fees. Even cooler I make my own install fees. Say run some new RCAs for a guy. I charge 25 bucks, I make 12.50 :-D. Cool ass shist.

    D2 vs Rl-p

Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ?? I doubt the D2 has been compared. Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500. Ported :-D.
