    Welcome to the IHoP

No, your question didn't make sense. I was going to make some kind of brackets that connect to the back of the tv (where the wall mount usually mounts) and have them extend to the side of the TV the mount the speakers. I had to pick up a TV for our service department, and the guy had made his own mounts for speakers like you mentioned. Are you just trying to get the left and the right and center mounted on the TV?

How much would you be willing to part for. I'm right here in MN so no need to ship. I am looking to get a plasma in the coming months In a box in the basement, let me pull it out I am not even sure what model it is Sounds good. I have my heart set on a Pioneer plasma. my 52" Sony Rear projection is kind of outdated, but works well in this aptartment. I had a nice display sometime last year with a bad panel and got rid of it when I moved. Couple months later, we get another bad one in with a bad power supply. Just my luck.

Kind of expensive but... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260431683769&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WVF%3F&GUID=870910881240a0b58322d0a2fffe5819&itemid=260431683769&ff4=263602_263622#735 kind of dumb the changed to that. All of Panasonics TVs last year had analog outs, but as far as I know, all of the newer model don't.

    Power Acoustik the company

I am really curious to see what happens with PPI. I hope it will not just be a high end name that is slapped on mediocre products, much like MB Quart etc. Wait! I thought PPI was a part of DEI, or did they drop the brand now? Maxxsonix has MB Quart now too dont they?

    Welcome to the IHoP

I may have had one of the most productive nights in a while. Listened to two of my lectures, read for that class, and worked. Only bummer is I skipped my morning stats class. I don't know how I managed with everyone upstairs playing COD MW2.......That game is just great.

    09 SIVERADO SUBS

If you could get more mounting depth by raising the seats, you could stick a couple of JL 10w6s in there. They are made to work extremely well in small airspace, plus they're an awesome sounding speaker. Otherwise you're kind of stuck with 8s or really shallow 10s. I haven't had much experience with any slim line subs so I have zero input on that topic. If you could fit a thin 12" you could probably fit a Slim line JL 13tw5 The are almost as as small as a 12" http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs_pages.php?page_id=245 Just food for thought

    Sound imaging software

Do you mean something like Imprint or Odyssey Eq? I wouldn't call it imaging somtware, all it does is calibrates your eq so it will yield a flat response and sets time delay on speakers so that all the sound reaches the listener at the same time. Is that what you're talking about. There's tons of software for measuring all kinds of things.

why do people run 2 or 3 runs of zero gauge

Very good explaination. I could have worded my explaination better. Current in a parallel circuit will exist in all parallel resistors or wires, the amount just depends on the resistance of a component or wire length. And like stated in the previous post, the current in all parallel branches will add to the total current of a circuit Your series analogy is dead on. Good thing I'm not a teacher.

    Problems with '06 Civic.

I'd personally go with a dash kit from metra. Aftermarket is almost 95% of the time better than factory in my opinion. The only time where i would not go afterparket is in a car where aftermarket isn't an option, like higher end models with dashes not meant to be altered. Built in nav and all that good stuff. That's just me though.

Behavior of Woofers at and around tuning.

It's about 40 bucks, but you will find tons of good factual information. http://www.amazon.com/Loudspeaker-Design-Cookbook-Vance-Dickason/dp/1882580478/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257976188&sr=8-1 On of the better books to have on hand when you want to know anything about speakers and how they work in different situations(enclosure, crossovers, etc.) You can answer most if not all from this book.

    Problems with '06 Civic.

Depends, I have done numerous installs using LOCs and not hear unwanted noise. The only thing you lose with a factory HU is some of the functionality of an aftermarket, like subwoofer control and eq functionality. LOCs are easy as long as you know what wires to tap, on the other hand, aftermarket radios are easy too, just a little more costly than using LOCs. In the end, it just depends how much you want to spend. As far as install prices, I couldn't tell ya. Go to a local shop and ask them their pricing on their hourly rates and cost of products.

why do people run 2 or 3 runs of zero gauge

Physics proves this wrong completely. Current will not choose either wire. What you said goes against the most basic electrical equation, Ohms law. The current will be divided between whatever wires are running depending on their resistance. The higher resistance wire will get less current but current will run through it none the less. You can pump a ton of current through wires not rated for that amount of current, you just could run into melting or burning up wires if that amount of current is sustained for a period of time. As for multiple runs of cable to a battery pack in the rear, it is just for maximum current to the batteries and the amps. edit: Nvm previous post answered this. Shoulda read all the way down.

    First HDTV

Good picture and they are cheap, but in the long run, they just have fail written all over them. They will end up costing as much as an LCD or Plasma in the long run. Replacement bulbs are expensive, like $200 to $250 if I recall correctly. And they go out a lot. A lot of people who bought DLP from the shop I work at have since upgraded to an LCD or Plasma because of the reliability issues.

okay with a plasma, i need to be more careful so i can prevent burn in? i applied for a best buy card.... they said we will get back to you in a few days... Most game systems have anti image retention software build in. All the Panasonic Plasmas have this feature built in too. So you'd be best off going into the set-up menu( and read the manual) and find out what you need to change in the anti-image retention menu.

I think this debate has been settled. To the OP, I'd suggest spending a little more money and get the Panasonic Plasma.
