Yeah that's small. I can never remember the prefixes, I know from Nano to Tera no problem, anywhere beyond those I have to resort to references. Find something measured in femtometers? A single electron lol.

Hey don't worry, I've seen much much worse. I had to work on a car, and they has a car audio plate amp, but for some reason it was sitting in a salad bowl. The hole that the plate used to be in was probably 8"x 8" and they maybe had 4 or 5 screws holding a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole.

Very Very Nice. I'm jealous regardless! I'm stuck with a 52" Sony rear projection. I feel that I'm taking away from the pictures, let's keep on topics. Lol -
I've seen people drill holes and run wire through then simply silicone the hole shut. I had that same thing happen with my first system, however when the plastic melted, the two terminals ended up shorting thus sending my amp into protect. Thank god for protection circuits!

Very nice TVs to say the least. What series did you end up going with? I like the LEDs a lot, but I still want a Pioneer Kuro. -
Fuck.......My bad. Sorry making you go into the basement and dig that thing up. I for some reason thought the discussion was about a TV.

Down-firing boxes sounds just fine. My buddy has a 12" Xcon Center console with a downfiring port in a Dodge Ram and it sounds great to say the least. This is his install. Just an example of an unfinished center console, but that set up really sounds great. JL w3s are a good choice for 8s, no doubt. Best 8s I've heard are the 8w7s or some oldschool eD a series 8s in a s-10. I like the idea of trying different thing. Do the 8s! I've always wanted to do a set of 8s or 4 8s. Either way welcome and if you have questions, ask away. There are plenty of knowledgable people of this forum who are more than happy to help.

The Blend Tec Youtube videos are pretty entertaining for someone who has never seen them before. Very good marketing. There's no use for a blender in our apartment, but we have one. I live with 3 other college students, and frozen foods and hamburger helper dominate our diets. The only time that thing got used was after one of our buddies got his jaw broken and was making chicken noodle soup.

Glad I could be of assistance. What are your plans for an enclosure? Prefab, DIY? Sealed or Ported?

Over 10 girls I went to high school with have a baby or are married/engaged, the majority of my core group of friends became alcoholics or delinquents after I left town for college. Not just petty stuff either. Stealing motorcycles and firearms. It is really sad. And you came to a town full of assholes! But on a more serious note, I know a few people having kids these day, no close friends mine are married or even engaged. I know a few people with DUIs, a few with some DUIs due sooner or later.

Reminds me of last night too. Butternut squash soup.Mmmmmm. Never tried pumpkin though. Is it similar? Very, I prefer it. You need a hell of a blender though. Mine complained and its a beast. Like this beefy?

If you look at the SSA Store, they have the dCon 10s for 140 a piece. You could definitely do two of those. Or I'd even go with a single 12" or 15". Either way, you son will get some boom. If I were going to buy for myself, I'd do a single 12" or 15" SSA iCon or Fi Q. Give you some very good bottom end and ability to get loud. I've never heard a Q in person however, but from what I through the grapevine, they are very very nice subwoofers. Sundown Amps are great choice also, but not the only one. Depends on your Budget. Try not to skimp on the amp though. I don't know what would be a suitable budget amp, but I am sure a few people here have some suggestions with personal experience. As for wire, go to a welding supple shop and run welding wire. Way cheaper and get's the job done.

There's a chance. I've installed many 138s, but Can't remember if they use the same harness as the eXcelon lines. I'd say try it out, and if they don't match up, oh well, it's not hard to rewire a harness. -
Hey Sean, ever happen to get the model off of that Pioneer Elite?

Question on Mids/Tweets and Amp to power them
todd.brust replied to smullen's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have always went with the philosophy that one set is plenty. Never more or less. Do the install right and there's never a need for any more than one set unless you're into show. -
Question on Mids/Tweets and Amp to power them
todd.brust replied to smullen's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You can't go overkill with deadener....okay maybe too much of a good thing can be bad but I've never seen those circumstances with deadener. I have a door kit per door in my car(dynamat door kit is suppose to do 2 doors). Another suggestion I would have is to spend more on a front stage, and don't worry or eliminate the rears. I eliminated my rears and I absolutely love it. I hate to do this, but I'm trying to sell some speakers for a buddy of mine. Cheap and well worth the money. May need to make a baffle spacer. $150 plus shipping. -
Question on Mids/Tweets and Amp to power them
todd.brust replied to smullen's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Sundown should be more than enough power. Definitely. No input here about Polk car audio speakers, never heard any. I'd suggest going to a shop and listen to some and see what you like. I personally like Focal and JL Audio speakers, but the speakers are only as good as the install. I'd suggest throwing in some sound deadener around the mounting location of the woofers. That was bar far the best improvement in sound for the cheapest price. Like 20 bucks for enough to do baffles. Good luck with thew search. -
I stopped by the parents tonight and first thing I noticed was the christmas lights and of course my mom asked if I noticed. Of course I did, the house is illuminated like a rainbow! I don't get that festive over christmas.

Viper and other DEi brands are in my opinion the "best". The product is only as good as the install. I installed a Viper remote start and alarm and have never had a single problem. Batteries in my two way don't last a super long time, but there's some higher end Viper systems that have rechargable remotes. Remote starts run in parallel with factory systems so they don't mess with the factory system, however, when you add in modules to bypass ignitions and integrate door locks, things can get tricky, but a good installer can get everything to work fine without any problems. I have no idea how a R/S would even mess with the shifting for a vehicle though. At the shop I work at, we will get everything to work, and if there are ever problems, we take care of them. We have very good relations with all the dealers in the area, so if need be, they help us, or vice versa. I'd be more concerned with the shop that installs the system, than the system itself.
