I recently looked up noise ordinances in my area, more pertaining to exhaust, but it is all the same. It said that for a noise violation the officer must have a mic that is calibrated daily, the calibration results, and the measured level at the approximate distance. If they have all this information and it exceeds their standard for acceptable noise levels at specific distances, then they can give you a ticket. And from the cops I have talked to in my area, there isn't a cop who carries a single SPL meter in the county.

I love threads like this. Shitty business practices should get no respect. This should just be a huge hate thread like the Ben Milne Love Parade from SIN. Those guys were harsh over there in those days. Sometimes I wish all forums had some assholes like that. Get rid of the skum. Burn Baby Burn! Fuck Skar.

In real the real world, the Orion is probably the worst of all of those speakers. I absolutely hate the HCCA. Overhyped and overpriced.

It's still airspace. I'd consider it usable, but that's me.

Planning/parts gathering for my Ram Mega Cab build.
todd.brust replied to Dave88LX's topic in Newbie Sign IN
Nice Looking truck. I like the Choice on the V30 Focals. I know I'm going to get shit on for this, but I've always wanted to hear JL stealthbox for the Mega Cab Rams. (2) 10w6v2 in JLs enclosure. Those things sound mint 9 times out of 10 -

Nice find! Do you find them to be durable? Yeah. Just as durable as some of the others you get. -

Motorcycle audio question RE speakers@amps soundigital or ??
todd.brust replied to cstmhd's topic in General Audio
A typical Motorcycle Install we do at the shop I work at on Bikes with fairing, Focal 165A1 in the fairing with an Arc Audio Mini KAR125.2 running either off the stock radio or an aftermarket. I have found that Alpines seem to sound the best as far as an aftermarket radio. We have done JL Amps, and the Rockford Minis, but have had out best luck with Arc Amps. Focals sound the best for the money. -
WOW! That's all.

Arc Audio Mini KAR amps sound good any are pretty small. Same with the JL XD amps. -

my AVH-4300DVD or Kenwood DDX-719
todd.brust replied to OuTLaWeD's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The Kenwood is a really nice unit. I've had lots of hands on experience with it, but none with the Pioneer. Hard for me to give a comparison, but I can tell you the 719 is a great unit. -

Great review. I am jealous of the fact you got to play around with a first Gen XXX. It's rare to see those these days.

little help (pick a deck)
todd.brust replied to TheHammer's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Kenwood seems to be the best bang for your buck, without comprimising quality. I'm not super familiar with Pioneer but it looks really nice. I don't like Clarion and Alpine hasn't impressed me in the last couple of years. -
