Looking around the PhoenixPhorum. It's a damn cool website, and I am pretty stoked to see the "rebirth" of Phoenix Gold.

Not to go OT, but how do we embed youtube videos?

try Phoenixphorum.com alot of old pg fans still hang out there. I'm there everyday. I saw your name there. So I take it that you are an old pheonix gold guy? Meaning products from the early 90's. Old PG stuff rocks! The shop I work at used to carry all the PG stuff. I've seen pictures of old displays and it just rocks. We had all the old Titanium and limited editions. I was going through pictures of old installs and found an install with 4 15" MB Quarts and a Pheonix Gold Reactor. I with people still spent money on stereos like they did in the 90s. Funny you say about $. I have spent my fair share. My first big install Power 650, 2-Power 300, and a punch 45. All the drivers were RF too with MB tweeters, audio control processing. Sweet system. Then I traded the 650 and 300's for the Phoenix Gold 2- MS2125 and MPS2500. Wish I had all that money back, all well the cray shit you do when you are young and single. Leaving memory lane now. That's great. People used to spend assloads on stereos back in the day. Now people want a Cd player and subs. Maybe they will throw in some coax speakers in the rear deck. Lol Most of the "all out" installs we do for people, are people who used to be big in the car audio scene in it's golden age. We just did some guys silverado, and he had all his old Rockford amps and MB Quart components. Just 2009 style HU and processing. I worked year round in high school just to buy this. My parents tought I was nuts, until we went to SBN way back in 1992. Lol I bet they shut up real quick!

Exactly why I did this mod, it drove me crazy. Plus I too never use the amps at their full potential. Don't have too much faith in thermal overload protection. Most of the times the resistors are too far from the mosfets. But you have qsc's which are badass from the get-go. This one is a QSC CX902, which is a pretty badass amp to begin with, plus I bought them from an amp engineer at QSC who said if I broke them, he would repair them for cost of shipping... Do you remember his name by any chance? I was talking with a QSC engineer a while back. He was helping me with some stuff for a school project. If its from SiN, its the same guy. I'm not going to say his screen name on public forum, but yea, that guy. PM me if you want it. Must be the same guy. I'll end up giving you a random PM someday when I decide to start an amp project.

A shop by my house still has some older PG stuff. They have a M44 & another amp I dont know the model number of I believe it is an M series, it has a 10 year anniversary logo on it. Might be an MS1000. Monster 4 channel with plexi bottom? Those are sweet too. I saw we had some of those too. We used to carry old school Rockford. I saw a Power 1000, and 650 mosfets come through to be serviced. Can't beat the quality of that older stuff.

I should really try to upload some pictures of the installs we used to do. Just some crazy shit for back in the day. World record SPL vehicle back in the day.

Pioneer AVIC-X910BT vs JVC KW-NX7000
todd.brust replied to salgutierrez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I am usually not a huge fan of JVC, but I was sold with the Garmin. And that JVC looks a lot nicer too. And if you want steering wheel controls, you will have yo go with a SWI-Jack. I think that is the JVC compatable Steering wheel interface. -
Holy good God! That looks great and that's a huge understatement. It makes me feel bad about myself, because i have the resources to make stuff like this and never take advantage!!! Nice build thought. Looking forward to seeing the completed enclosure.

Some of Orions new amps seem pretty beefy, but I don't think they will compare to the brute of their pre DEI products.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and don't forget to overeat!

You just need a 12V power supply with a high current rating. A nice one could get pretty spendy though. You might be better off just buying a cheap receiver. We have a pretty good size power supply at the audio shop I work at with a nice bank of batteries to run our car audio display room.

Samsung LED 55" PS3 photo :)
todd.brust replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Are you using that Samsung mount that makes it hand like a picture frame or a tradition wall mount? -
Sorry bud. I was super excited that you had a TV but it's all good. If I was in the market for a nice reciever, I'd buy it up. I have a decent one now, but nice speakers to match

super hangover top. I hate it when friends come to town, then get me drinking whiskey.

What kind of structure would have a resonance at that high a frequency? Small ones. We regularly work on nano-tubes which have interesting modes well into the >20MHz range. Obviously the structures we will excite acoustically are larger than those What kind of work do you do again? I am in an into to nanoscience class right now. I see the word nano and get excited.

No matter what you do, it's a BIG step up from those shitty terminals.

Just got my copy of Windows 7. Been playing around with it. It's a lot like Vista, just a lot more useless software. As far as performance, I don't know yet.
