Wiring problem with a 21 inch Warden and SAZ 3500
ia2 replied to escarado's topic in Incriminator Audio
Pull the sub out and check the resistance at each terminal. If they are both good (reading .7-.9) make sure your wiring is correct. If you still have trouble, take some pics and post on here of how everything is hooked up. Thanks! -
Nope

Strong username/post correlation....lol

Wow... a LI on 900 watts! BTW, do the LI and Flatlynes have the same bolt mounting pattern? I am thinking of running a LI 12" in my Flatlyne's old sealed enclosure (1.34cu/ft) for a future home theater setup. The sub rack amp will put out 950rms in 4ohm. I debated on running a Flatlyne as well, your post got me to thinking...... Yes, same mounting

Chris, I edited your post to show Steve Cook running Flatlyne 18's....just so you know -
There may be more port length inside the box that you cant see, but it doesnt sound like it. I plugged the box into our program and got 2.25 cubes (before displacement) tuned to 40 hz. Slowed down music sometimes reaches into the sub-30 hz range, and if this is the case, you are playing waaay under tuning and the sub will unload like crazy and sound terrible. For the time being, if your amp has a sub sonic filter, try playing with it and adjust it closer to the box tuning, or at least a bit over 30 hz. Contact the box builder, and get the exact specs of the box, and make adjustments as necessary until you get everything figured out. You dont want to have to buy a recone because of some simple adjustments.

We would like to thank everyone here for eight years of allowing us to continue doing what we love to do. It is such a blessing to wake up every morning and go to work with your best friends, and without you guys, this would not be possible. I hope everyone here is able to enjoy their families and friends through the holiday season, and once again, thanks for everything! Now, with that being said, here is our holiday/CES schedule: Closed dates: December 23rd, 24th, 30th, 31st January 6th, 7th, 10th

Nice! Those 21's were bringin the pain before, I bet they are really hammering now!

Most people wind up making their box 8.5 cubes with about 120" of port tuned to 32ish hz. The new DP can take tons of power with the new star motor's cooling, and the new voice coil. Just be easy on the gains, and don't play hard below tuning, and you will be fine.

Maybe this will answer your question. http://www.incriminatoraudio.com/update/index.php?page=4&cat=8

Do not use the TS parameters to build your box if you plan on plugging those numbers in a box building program. Follow our recommended enclosure sizes.

Come on guys give him a break.....hes from Trinidad, which just happens to be a country that imports tons of IA gear now Hey man, the recommendation above of 2.3 cubes is great. Externally the box would be 18x15x19.5, and internally that would give you 16.5" x 13.5" x 18", with a port of 13.5" x 3" x 33.5" deep. That will get you roughly 35 hz tuning. Thanks!
-
Is that box for an 18 or a 21? If you are going to run a single 20.1, then I would go with the Death Penalty. If you plan to run more power than that in the future, then go ahead and get the Warden. It really just comes down to how much power you are going to run.....Both will be stupid loud.
-
If you order a death penalty, you will get the 2010 version....there are pics on here of it
-
I would talk to David at PSI for the 18". We only do 21" recones on our motors. Thanks
-
At first, I was like But then I was like when I saw how much power you were running
