Warden Series Release - May 1st
Team_Innovative replied to Incriminator's topic in Incriminator Audio
So has anyone tried a direct swap-out yet, I'd be interested to see for what and the results. -
How much longer before they are released? Has any testing gone down yet, I know of a great place to test them:

Nothing?

What competition assocation do you prefer???
Team_Innovative replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I have competed in DB Drag, IASCA, SLAP, USACi and TNESPL. All had benefits and all had drawbacks but for me it is DB Drag all the way. The reason is that if you want to compete at the highest level then DB Drag is where it is at. When it comes to spl it is like reaching the NFL or NBA, to me it is the pinnacle of spl competition. I have never done a sound quality competition but have seen some of the IASCA sq judging, I also have a copy of the rules. It seems to have far too many rules to actually be able to enjoy what you are doing(but this is just my opinion), I also checked out DB Drags rules for Psyclone and think they are far too minimal. There needs to be something in the middle, and there very well may be with one of the other organizations. I urge everyone to check out www.teamnortheastspl.com, it is a budding organization here in the northeast(mainly New York and Canada). There is also a forum if anyone wants to ask any questions or just get to know some of the guys competing there. -
The wait is almost over.....20.1's

Now that Tommie has retired I will test four of them, compare them to my two 40.1s and see what they can do for Street Max. Come on Nick, you know you wanna send them to me! -
Send me two, I'll test them out for you!

Thanks Nick, I sent him a message.

Does anyone have a pair of 40.1s that I could borrow for Finals? I already have two and if anything happened I would replace with my amps. I would obviously pay shipping.

Okay, I will start with a little background info before I show my results. My vehicle and season info can be seen using my stats button below but I will start with my scores throughout the year: 3X in Niagra Falls in march: 159.1 w/four 40.1s 3X in Carlisle in may: 157.6 w/two 40.1s 3X in W. Viginia in may: 157.6 w/two 40.1s(losing score so stats only show a 156.?) The last show disappointed me alot so a couple weeks ago I took a trip to Maine to visit a couple freinds(Rooney and Bob). The goal was to test with some different equipment to see what might work best in the van. First we got base numbers with what I already had and found that Rooney's mic was the stiffest I had ever been on by alot. Then we swapped out my amps and subs, basically comparing two Sampsons to my two 40.1s. The following results are with each amp at .25 off of one CS9000 in street max style(vehicle off for runs). The best numbers from the Smapson: 159.9 the voltage dropped to the mid 9s - we clamped and measured just over 4500 watts per amp. We then put the 40.1s back in at .25: 159.27 the voltage droped to 10.16 - we clamped and measured a little over 3500 watts per amp but not on this run(measured the power at 158.69) I am not saying anything bad about the Sampsons because they are beasts and work great if you have battery power to back them up, I am just showing how good the 40.1s are! I waited on posting these results because I had a show on Sunday, I did a 159.8 in StreetMax!!!!! On a side note, if anyone has any spare 40.1s they would like to send me i would be more than happy to go to Carlisle in August and break the 160 mark!

Actually the danger lies in performing the mod, but I might have that problem solved as well so we will see. You could always send me your two and I will send you back mine, then you could just perform the mod again.
-
No mods, I talked to Nick and he said it wasn't worth the risk.
-
There is no exact answer, everyones box rise is different. While I can burp them over and over again at .25 others cannot, your setup will dictate what load is right for you.
-
The CS9000 is one of the best batteries for Street Max, the output is on par with the other monster batteries under 800 cubic inches(batcap, DD) and can be had for a few hundred dollars less. It is however very expensive, you could order one from Cactus for $900 plus shipping. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than DB Drags street max class however.

Is there any down side to this mod, is it dangerous for the amp?

I am always looking for more, send it to [email protected]

I am in Utica, NY and would be happy to help you out. Sorry I didn't see your response sooner.

Okay, more test results. These are on a new meter so the head to head scores are more important than my previous scores compared to my new ones. Background: I am preparing for DB Drag racing World Finals were I want to win the US and place well amongst the top Europeans. After seeing some amazing test results from Terry Brocks and Jeff Brown I decided that would try the Stetsom 7KDs in the van. I bought a used pair and proceeded to modify them for maximum current. I then installed them in the van with the following results: 159.6, voltage dropped to 9.89 The next run produced a 159.5 and alot of smoke, one of the amps lost a board. Disappointed I reinstalled the 40.1s and tested again, here are those results: 159.4, voltage dropped to 11.03(leaving me plenty of room ta strap another pair in). I will also be testing on the mic I had previously been using to see what if any difference there is from mine. Again if anyone would like to help me out I would really like to run four 40.1s at Finals, this is hard for me to do since I dropped all my amp money into the 7KDs which I can't even sell now to get my money back.

I really hope there will be, I am amazed by how much I have been able to get out of them. I am about to post some really nice test results but want to start a new thread for it.
-
Where? Really, I've been trying to find a pair for weeks.
-
Has anyone done any testing with the maxxlink on strapped 40.1s?
-
Wow, Not one person on here has tried these products together.
-
Nice pics, wish I had enough vacation time to have gone.

I wanted to get a post going so everyone could get an idea of what I am working with. The main reason is because in Feb-Mar I will be doing some test on the SAZ-3000ds. I will be updating this thread as often as I can do any work and/or testing on the van. To start it is a 1993 Dodge Caravan, and I run StreeMax 1-2 in DB Drag. I bought it from Rooney Bianco of Team 420 in July of last season. Here it is the day I picked it up: A few specifics, I picked it up in Connecticuit at a show. When I picked it up it had the following: (2) MA 4000d (2)T3 tsns 18" old pioneer deck(2volt output) Kinetik 2400 one run of 0 ga At the show I hit a 154.7 and took first place.
