no info on the two being compared i've heard great reviews on both woofers, and i have an amp that will go well with either one (memphis prd1000.1) the reason i ask is because nobody around here has ever heard of either company. only audio place around here will tell anybody that everything is garbage except jl and memphis. my overall goal: to have a daily driver that can get loud if desired lol. i mix my music up a lot, so i'm wanting a more musical sub out of the two.

Any more word on when the Rl-I 8's could come in?

sorry for the lack of wisdom, but could somebody tell me what port noise sounds like? Because I just put my system in my car and unless i have the volume turned down to zero, my sub is constantly playing kinda loudly. Could this be how the amp settings are set?

Heres the scoop: I went to put my sub and amp in my car, and was having a hard time getting the box to fit, so I thought I better check everything out to make sure it worked, and the amp keeps going into a protection mode or something. Its a Memphis PR1000.1 I tried to contact the seller because he guaranteed not to be DOA but won't get a return. I guess thats what I get for buying off of ebay But anyways, I was wondering if people could give me some input on which would be a better amp for my Fi Q in a LSQ installation. Kicker ZX1000.1 Sundown SAE-1000D I can get them for about the same price. Any help? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. It is Dual 2, and I wired everything correctly to get the 1 Ohm load. When I wired everything up, I turned all the gains and such down, then turned on my car and as soon as I started to turn up gain, it would click and turn on the protection. When I get home from work I will mess around with it more and check all the wiring a couple more times.

When I had my dodge, I had 3 TREO TSi's running from a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 amp. They sounded good. Ive sold those and I am leaning towards a 15 Fi Q for my 02 monte carlo. Im wanting a daily driver great sounding Sq set up. Could somebody tell me how the 15 will compare to the 3 10's i had? For the amp, I'm leaning towards the Sundown SAE-1000D. Would the SAZ-1500D be better? The price on this website would be the highest I want to spend on an amp. My headunit is a PANASONIC MXE CQ-C8413U if that matters. Thanks for all help. For the sealed box, should I stick to what the Q recommends or something different?

Heres my info.. 2002 Monte Carlo SS Panasonic CQ-C8413U MXE Stock Speakers for now with a 200 watt amp that came stock, not quite sure what I will get. I usually use Infinity Kappa's 15" Fi Q Dual 2 Memphis PR1.1000
