Hi guyz, Sorry for not sending updates sooner but I was moving in a new appartment and I was waiting for the phone line and internet to be set up... Been out of the world (without internet) for a month lol. Believe it is time to revive this thread... That was my previous system: Memphis M1 10", Milbert amp and Audison SRX2s My new system: Audiopulse 8", Milbert (mid and high) and Audison LRx3.1k (midbass and sub) Enjoy, Kelvin

Don't go there, you'll get shot from everywhere... lol PS: I'd also like to know

I would choose the Panasonic AE2000U. Don't have one but planning to buy one next month. Best the Epson Cinema 1080 in many reviews. What I didn't like about the Epson was that you need to unmount the projector to replace the lamp. The Optoma was my first choice but seeing that placement flexibility was not that great (no lens shift), I decided to look elsewhere. Sanyo PLV-Z2000 is also a nice choice. Around $2300. Hope that helps, Kelvin

Curious about Amp for Legatia L841-3 active?
subwoofery replied to Smondo17's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Man I feel like a noob asking this but how do you set up headroom: - Set the amp gain as usual? 50 to 100 watts on the L1, 100 to 150 on the L4, and 250 + on the L8 OR - Set the amp gain to something like 100 to 200 (L1), 200 to 300 (L3), and 500+ (L8)? And play safely with the volume knob... sorry for the stupid question -
Send him an e-mail. He might not come everyday on the forum...

If you want to go active with a sub (3way+sub=4pairs of RCA) Try to know if your headunit has 4 pairs of RCA... (Clarion DRZ-9255, Alpine F#1, Pioneer P9 combo, etc...) Then you can go with 6 channels (front) + sub amp. If not (3 pairs of RCA), then you would have to go with a 5 channel, or a 4channel + sub amp. However, I believe that the Audison LRx6.9 (6 channel amp) can be used as a 6 channel amp but using only 4 x RCA inputs. Then you would be able to go with 6 channels + sub amp only from a 3 pair RCA head unit. Might have other amps that can be used like that but I can't think of any. Hope that helps, Kelvin -
I'd do that too but just remember that what Dave Edwards is suggesting is: A REALLY BIG BOX

Also, the 5 channel needs to be an hybrid one. Similar to my Audison LRx3.1k: Front channel are A/B class Sub channel is D class Believe it would be a hell of an amp knowing how Jacob manages his products...

Ohh ok, thank you again

hybrid audio Technology is a good brand also. Try to look at the clarus line.

If I were in the market for a new sub I would choose: FI Car Audio Q series - SQ sub that can get loud, detailed and tight, biggest Xmax of the bunch (27mm), options can be added to handle more power, 1000rms, sealed 0.8 to 1.5cuft, $259each /// would choose 1 to be used with a 1000rms amp SSA Icon - LSQ (don't flame me) sub that is built like a tank, has a distinct quick sound to it (can't really explain better), 1000rms, sealed .85 to 1.2cuft, $249each /// would choose 1 to be used with a 1000rms amp Stereo Integrity New Mag (not out yet but available in a couple of weeks, I hope lol) - said to be one of the best SQ around, clarity is second to none, Dual2 ONLY, 1000rms, recommened in 1cuft sealed, price around $250each /// would choose 1 to be used with 600 to 1000rms amp. Image Dynamics IDQv.3 series - SQ sub that can get loud, have a warm sound to it, 500rms, sealed .65 to 1cuft - $299 each /// would choose 1 to be used with 500rms amp. I listen to all genre, however more electro, trance, tribal from Ti

Heh... Seems like you're a really tough guy to get infos from Then how about telling us what kind of technology has been used (the one that will remain on the final product even though the basket is being remodelled) In a similar manner than for the SI Mag: -voice coil size -motor topology -mounting depth if finalized -shorting ring or not -cone material -surround material things like that. Sorry to sound impatient but I have been willing to change my sub since September 2007. Thank you, Kelvin -

Still no spec for the mighty 8"? All I need to know is sensitivity, xmax (due to sealed box) and RMS rating... Could you be kind to realease a quick hint just to have people drooling over their keyboard? -
Thank you Sir... Hey guyz, what setup would you choose? 2xEpic 8" D4ohm in 0.9cuft powered with 650rms OR 2xRL-i8 S4ohm in 0.6cuft powered with 1000rms My car is a hatchback if that helps. Both enclosures are sealed.

Voice coil choice for the Audiopulse Epic 8"? Dual 2 and Dual 4?
-
Well noted, thanx

2 to 6 months? Been waiting since Sept 2oo7 already for the RL-i8s I know the RL-i8 (older model) is in stock now but it is quite inefficient and doesn't have the logo.

Voice coil options? for the 8"

You should try to go onto http://www.dynamat.com/technical_installat...ation_menu.html Try to download the "Car Audio Competition Door Installation" file. Might help you. Going with SS or Raamat is a good choice imho

Another Which Amp
subwoofery replied to frankyp00's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
* Firstly, .5 ohm is out of question since you are not sure to hit 14.4 volts... unless you have a few batteries in the trunk and a HO alternator. * Secondly, I have used MTX in the past and they did not satisfy me at all (build quality wise), let me down a couple of times, quality went down hill for the last couple of years (same thing said on other forums). * Thirdly, as johnecon2001 said, send them an e-mail if they haven't sent them out yet. Ask for dual 1's or Buy some strappable amps. Might save you money going that way than buying a huge and heavy amp that'll put out what you need at 2 ohms. Hope that helps, Kelvin PS: never used Sundown amps but BUY THEM they're great -
thanx, I will look into it...
