Ive been driving on it for now but looking to put it to the test in a few. Hopefully nothing breaks.

I bought a 170amp alternator for my integra off of ebay for around 300. the seller is alterstart.

tweekerz started following can the rl-p be reconed?, best place to buy H/O alts....., need help choosing front stage... and and 1 other
-
heh They are in my door. Using a 3/4 in mdf spacer.

Thanks for the info. Ill set the attenuation to -3 and hopefully that corrects the treble issue. But I still cant figure out for the life of me why my driver lacks bass. Off my head unit and while amped. id like to utilize more midbass instead of my woofer doing all the work. Ive spent hours messing around with settings even turning up the bass levels on the parametric eq to end up in the same place. Ive heard that mb quarts are weak in the midbass field. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's you application for the drivers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> iif you mean what music i listen to hip hop and electronica mostly but the occasional jazz and rock

By using the crossovers that came with the component set and crossing over on the head unit itself, am I running 2 crossovers? I'm not familiar with the tweeter attenuation. There is an input on the crossover for tweeter and driver, and a crossover point of -6, -3 and -0. I have it set to -0. Can you go furthur in depth about the attenuation? Thanks!
-
i have a seperate crossover with my mb quart set now set to -0db and i control my crossover settings (slope, db, etc) on my headunit. i was planning on using a similar setup.
-
Active? Does that have to do with the crossovers?
-
I wont be throwing more than 50w to it now, although it would be nice to throw more wattage to it later...
-
My current setup is MB Quarts, but horribly lack mid bass even amped and the treble was kind of harsh at times. With a budget of under 200, are there any components out there that have better midbass and smoother treble? Am i asking too much? How are the RE components?

im putting 1000w daily to my ported rl-p 12" with no problems. just watch the gains. beauty of the rlps dont need that much power. 600w rms would be fine for that sub.

amp install gone wrong
tweekerz replied to tweekerz's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
ok ok i found out what the hell happened. lol its retarded. 2 speaker cables coming from underneath the carpet were spliced into the front speaker harness wires. i assumed these were the correct wires since the input of my crossover used the same cable (and the fact it was spliced into my harness). after alot of pucking around with different amps, patch cables and crap and still no go, i wired back up the front factory speaker wires on the harness without those two speaker wires and i magically had sound from my fronts. turns out that my speakers are still using the factory wiring from the harness through the doors, spliced behind my midbass driver to the monster cable which connects to the input on the harness. you may ask about those two speaker cables spliced into the harness right? they were run to my trunk for some reason! this saturday im going to rewire my car and tune my front stage. sweet! -

I have a crappy sony reciever, the ones you buy in the home theatre system kits. i can get my hands on a lanzar 2 channel to test tho. ill try that and see what happens. is it ok that i just clipped the speaker cable on the harness splice extra cable and run it back to the amp? -

How did You test... this worries me... -nick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i turned off the head unit and switched rca's then turned it back on... -
Have mb quart component speakers (front stage) w/ external crossovers. My head unit powered these front speakers. Standard install, the speaker wire from my crossovers were spliced into my harness. i clipped the speaker wire. For testing purposes only i spliced more speaker wire to run back to my amp. I put the right speaker in the right channel and the left etc. Pulled out my head unit, and setup my rca's and ran them to the amp. Tested both sets of rca's in teh back of my head unit and no workie. Power and ground was simple, I already had a distro block and T connector for my ground. I daisey chained the remote turn on from my sub amp to the eclipse 2 channel. Amp powers on with no fault lights with the ignition, and turns off with the ignition. The amp is on hi-pass. I dont think power or ground is the issue, it must be with how i wired the speaker cable. Any suggestions? Sorry for the novel.
