I'm really thinking about ordering one this weekend.. It'd be nice to see some pics and hear some opinions on yours so far... I think I'm going to get the 250 amp G Series... This is for a Daily driver, not competitions... -
smullen started following fuse for saz1500d, Anyone have a 2005 Trail Blazer with a Mechman Alt?, 2005 Trail Blazer, Spec out needs for Power upgrades of small audio sy and and 4 others

So, been out of Car Audio for a bit, been wanting to put another small system in, every time something seems to come up.. So I'm trying again... Vehicle: 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer So far I have the following... Pioneer Head unit, Polk Separates in all 4 doors. Parts I have acquired: Sundown 2000D (these Sundowns are are few years old But BNIB) (Needs 200 Amp Ext Fuse) Sundown 125.4 (fuse 30x2) 15" FI BTL (Same with the FI Sub, BNIB) I would like to figure out what all exactly I need to do get and do so the two Amps have plenty of power. No Blinking lights, or any power problems... I was thinking, Update front Batt (not sure what) Mechman Alt (not sure which one) Big 3 Two Fused Runs of 0/1 to rear 1 or More Batts (the less room the better) (Was thinking an XS d6500) Some kinda Distro/Buss Bar setup to connect the two amps... I don't really see adding more amps or devices to this system for the foreseeable future I can wire stuff up, but I have Zero box building skills, so unless someone has other recommendations, I'm thinking about a Pre-made Fatboxusa Box... http://www.fatboxusa...losure-box.html I know most folks here frown on pre-made Enclosures, but I'm not looking at doing car shows, comps or to show off, I just want a fairly banging system, without going in 20K.... In a year or so, when I get a lot more credit cards paid off, I'd like to re-do a much bigger system in a secondary vehicle...

Volume 25, Issue No.03 March 2011 - got it right here in hand.... Eh, its a show truck, not a daily beater... Gotta do something to make it stand out from the other eleventy billion rides... Something that gets and keeps the judges attention... Especially in the Mini-truck brackets as there are so many to compete against... Same here... I've got a 2000 S-10 Blazer thats been sitting in my Garage for a few years now... I started off going pretty strong, paint job, some custom bodywork/things shaved, ghost flames, some interior work, minor system, droped, 20"s....Won the crap outta shows for about 3 years straight, but never got around to bagging it... I still have most of the bag parts in Boxes, either in my basement or my parents garage... Didn't loose interest as much as it became a lessor of a priority with work, getting married and taking my daughter everywhere... I don't really have the time or money to dump into it... I thought about selling it, but I just can't bring myself to do it....

March 2011 issue, P54,55 There is a 2nd Gen S10, that has a 15" FI BL powered by a Sundown SAZ-1200 and a 125.2 for the mid/tweets.... Might be a repost, but I think its great to to see some of the cooler brands like this finally getting some play in the Magazines, not just companies that buy full page adds in every magazine they see on the stands.....
-
Sounds like someone needs to do a build that REALLY gets peoples attention and shows what Sundown can do... Coupe of nice displays in the shop will help too... Props on owning a shop, big or small... I've awlays wanted to own one, but I'll freely admidt, I don't have the install skillz...

To the OP, this is the main reason that 98% of what I buy comes from someplace online... Be it direct from the manufacture or whatever.... I've been into Car Audio longer than some of you have been driving and I've bought stuff from the local joints 6-7 times vs the hundreds I've bought online... Same goes for my Firearms, the gunshops only sell items they make the highest margin on.... But, to be Devils advocate, What is any business in business for??? To make profit, pay the shops rent, bills, their/their employees salary, etc... They gotta do what they think they gotta do to Survive... Sucks as I'd rather buy everything local...

So how do I change my forum password??? I know how to reset it, where I click on and it gives me a new random one, but I'd like to set it myself to something I can remember... I can not find where to do that...
-
I myself would use 1/0 Here is a link you may find useful... American wire gauge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Also, when it come to this and most projects I'd rather have a bit of overkill than to be lacking...

100% Agree!!!! Also agree with the Amp Sexiness Inside and Out!!!
-
I've always been interested in how one (such as Sundown, IA, etc) gets ahold of a build house and gets amps built... Not like I'm gonna try it, but the whole subject is pretty interesting to me... Subs too...
-
Why ? Still a good amp and still under warranty. I don't see any issue. NO issues with Sunbdown per say, its with us broke f0ckers buying them and who plan on having say 4-6 SAZ-2000Ds, bought say 2 and were saving too buy 4+ more.... They now have three choices, buy some used/refurbed ones, buy mis matched ones (say 2 2000Ds 2-4 2500Ds) or start all over with same of new model.... Again not Sundowns fault... You have to do what right for Sundown, keep up with the customer demands and stay competitive (with offerings and price points)... We shoulda got on the stick and bought them sooner... Every manufacture changes lines now and then... It would have been nice to have more of a heads up that the 2000D was going E.O.S. and a potential date, so people would know to get'em while the gettings good... I probably would not have been able to buy the rest anyway and it may have been posted and I just did not see it... Thats the way it goes... I will continue to look to Sundown as a prefered vendor of Amps and maybe subs...

Below, I only listed brands that I have owned, installed or helped a friend install and been around quite a bit.. Also the Brands are listed in no order and are Brands I would buy again myself or recomend to a friend... Headuints Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, Sound Processors Audio control Amps Hifonics Sundown RF MMats RE Old School Phoenix Gold Planet Audio Components Polk Audio RE Alpine JL Audio Subs FI RE JL Audio Treo Alpine (type Rs) Wiring, Fuses, PDBs, RCAs, accessories Stinger Phoexnix Gold Knuconcepts Deadeners Dynamat (all I've bought in the past, this next system will try some of the other know brands) Sprayfoam from Home Depot or lowes I each catagory there are a few brands I'd love to try sometime, but thats what I have atleast some exp with and would use again...
-
Holy crap... So where do you find the 14.5mm rounds for that thing??? What are they about 4.50 - 6.00 a round??? I thought i had ammo worries.... Not many ranges around here would let you shoot that as it would eat up the target backings and berm behind them... I'm thinking Knob Creek... With a box Mag, not belt fed I'm guessing it was really designed for Sniping Tanks and other hardend targets? vs spraying cover and suppressive fire...
