is something wrong with my rca volts

What's OP? Original poster What does this mean? You listen between the volumes of 40 and 62? set volume/max volume(headunits max is 62. i set my gains at volume 40) Why does the AUX have to be on +4? if he ran an ipod or w/e aux input it would level out the Aux output to 4v if he only sets the SLA, he could play a CD and get the needed output RCA voltage. but if he switches to Aux w/o setting to 4v he's going to get a bare voltage output. the SLA is a separate source from the AUX. which is why i said "if needed" at first i used to run all CD's, then when i had got my ipod and run through the Ip-bus i have to use the AUX input. and w/o the setting done to the pre-output voltage i wasn't getting crap for audio until it was switched. -

i think that sounds about right to the OP on the HU volume ratio. my HU volume is set to 40/62 on an deh-7700mp with no additional bass settings. in order to get the correct amount of output from the amp my gains are set quite high. though the speaker isn't giving me any dirty sounds. so i feel that there isn't any clipping. i could but i don't think i am. and if i am. well god damn i love this sub as it takes a beating like no other. BUT, you might have to set the pre output voltage on the HU as i had to on mine to actually get a better pre-output. in the audio settings look for something like this picture. it won't be the same as we have different HU's set the SLA output to +4 and if needed set the AUX level to +4. if this hasn't been done you should notice an increase in output. i believe it's what regulates what voltage you want to run. wether you like to set your amps at 2v or 3v. or 4v. ya know? -
damn. i couldn't live with that on my back if i were that father. I'd probably kill myself shortly.
-
damn that chits' crazy. we need more stories. oh and do we get any free tow passes?? lawl.
-
it can't be from the leak. he free-air'd it and it's still making the noise. try with taking the bass boost off as suggested.
-
i think your coils are fine. how did you set your gains? do you have any bass boost on? what EQ settings do you have set on your HU?
-
what coil configuration did you purchase the sub with?
-
lowest i've seen my voltage drop was 11.2v which was recent. i think my stock battery is dead and causeing a strain in my electrical. though i have noticed after installing my xenon hid kit my voltage hasn't seen much of 14.v when i run my headlights like it used to before the HID kit.
-
though for 50 bucks. it's still a good deal if they follow thru with a win.
-
why do people buy subs w/o planning ahead to figure out how they are going to run them??? i mean i'm not trying to be a dick or anything but you know it would seem logical to overlook all your options before buying things.

no, the mounting gasket won't give you a perfect circle if you trace it. i usualy take a nail and tap it into the center of the circle. take a peice of string and tie a pencil to it. then measure HALF the lenght of the mounting diameter and tie to nail. I.E. if the mounting diameter was 12", tie the string onto the pencil, then measure 6", then tie at the nail. that way when you make a circle. you are making a 12" perfect circle.

i speek deh truuff lawl.

any pics of your wall?? and welcome

they are starting to use leads woven into the spider, cause too many people are snapping leads from user error. the woven leads should be better though. so do they come with the flatwind standar?? taken off the website "The BTL Series does what others cant. It allows you to tailor your subwoofer for your exact extreme SPL needs. Starting with our standard double stacked motor and 8 layer flat wind voice coil, you can tweak things with a variety of options. Need more power handling? Add a chamfered pole or axial cooling channels. Need incredible Xmax to feed your 160dB at 20Hz obsession? Add a third magnet and our extended length coils (26mm of Xmax). With over 20 different options to choose from, we can build the exact sub you need to fuel your SPL fire."

lawl, like everyone esle said. school first mang, then the hobby.

get a second deep cycle battery for the rear. run a big 3 in 1/0 guage. you should be fine from there with that kind of power. i used to run about 2.2k on stock battery, stock alt. nothing else. now i run a second battery + big 3, though still stock alt on about 1.7k. it is a much better improvment to help stablize voltage but really what would help you more would to get a bigger alt. hondas have chit for alts and is the biggest down side when putting a high powered system in these cars.
-
you should start on getting a bigger amp for that BL. though your box also seems a little small and tuned pretty high there.
-
oh chit son. i wonder how they compare to the BTL's i just noticed something though, denim mentioned Havocs, but in your sig BKOLF you state AA Mayhems. i haven't seen any info on any Mayhems. is it a new line of speakers that you are getting the good in or are they custom? or is it just an error from not remembering that they are called Havocs?

hahahah x2!! and welcomes

^^^ get a D1 BTL and wire it in series for a final 2ohm load. i'm in the same boat as you with sub/amp. as you mentioned not strapping to a final 1ohm load because you don't have the alt, it's also not advisable since your going past the amps warranty rating with each amp seeing .5ohm.

get a larger battery bank for the rear. run the big 3. get a unit that allows you to be able to see your voltage at all times. a stinger digital voltage meter works well. run your system for a period of time(a few days). if you see that your voltage has nasty drops and gets low enough to cause damage to your amps and vehicles electrical then it would be suggestive to look into a High output alternator.
