I just went to the Atnea website and checked for dealers. I was kinda surprised Best Buy carries some of their product. Guess it will be easier than I thought to check them out, just a few miles away.

That is a little out of my league at the moment. I have always know home stuff was a tad more than the car audio stuff Also, I am trying to remember the name of a company that made media centers. I think it was Balle but I can't seem to find anything on them so it must be the rong name. Any guesses?

Since I can attatch movies here and I seem to have quite a few. Anyone want to see more? I will post some as long as the mod's deem it ok. I just don't want to suck up a ton of bandwidth. Most movies are in the 3-5 meg range.

I will have to check out Athena. I have never heard of them before, but that isn't too surprising. LOL.

I still love that one. The part of the basket just goes flying off! Guess that is why you shouldnever play with a cracked basket

Just buying them pre built. I am a wussy like that:)

I am also looking at Denon pieces as well. They seem to be decent quality and price for their low-mid level stuff.

www.iasca.com www.slapshow.com www.nsplcompetition.com www.splenduro.com That should get you started. Usually in the winter the shows die done so it may be tough to find one.

What I've seen that has worked decent is this. The sub is inverted between the seats. The port is then placed on a side wall of the box firing into the side of the truck.
-
That is cool looking but not sure I would want to spend 50+ just to add decoration to the box. Hopefully he can get them off again without tearing:)
-
what I meany by dims is the max size you can have. For instance, how tall can the box be, how wide and how deep. If you are inverting the sub the depth of the box will most likely be very shallow.

hmm, a reg. cab truck. Not a lot of room there at all. A slot port will be tough to do in a enclosure that small. I was messing around with some numbers and with a box that small there are a few difficulties. With a box that small you can't have a lot of port area and have a sensible length port. And since you can't have a lot of port area the slot port starts to become very narrow. This leads to port noise. It sounds like you know very well what you are doing. By any chance do you have dimensions for your box? Since it is a reg cab truck I have no idea of the space you have available, other than it isn't much:)

Gross Volume = 3.649 sub displacement = .16 port displacement = .241 Net Volume = 3.284 Port area = 28.274 (6" round) Port length = 14.75" tuning frequency = 35 Hz dimensions length = 27" height = 13" depth = 23" There is one box for you. A little larger than you were looking for, but it is one. I will prob post a few more in the next coming days. Also, this was using 3/4" wood.
-
Also, how big do you want the box to be before displacement? Roughly 3.25? Between the sub and port displacement that should knock it down to roughly 2.5 cubes.
-
I can help. Do you want a slot port or a round port? I am assuming 3/4" wood will be used. Any specific dimesions you would like to see? I will whip up a normal ported box tonight as well as the pieces you need to cut. I would post it but I don't want anyone to steal me design:)

Why did you get out of the competition scene in upstate abyway? I thought you had a good thing going. How high did the Orion setup ever get?
-
I honestly do not remember any measurements. It was a few years ago.

Yep, once again there is an upraor. Hmmm, makes me kinda glad I gt out a few years ago, not that I was World Finals material anyway:)

Installation Routine
Peteyglad replied to Chevy350TPI's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I usually don't disconnect the negative battery terminal, I usually just flip off the dimmer switch, if it has none, I will pop it off though. -
I did look at the Thunder 251 and the Thunder 311 from MTX. Their amps were just a tad too large to work well. It could fit, but it would not have looked good, just kind of thrown in there. Thanks for the reply on the 2050. I was hoping to hear those kinds of stories.

I am looking for a small amp (literally) for my wifes van power a Koda 8" at 4 ohms. Looking to have roughly 200 RMS. Here are my choices so far Arc Audio 2050 CXL Planet Audio BB50.2 Anyones tried any of these series? I am leaning toward the Arc just because I have always wanted to try one, and I think they are one of the most beautiful amps out there. Anyone have any other suggestions. Here are my specs 1. Must have a crossover (most do, just thought I would add that fact though) 2. Roughly 200 RMS into 4 ohms 3. Size restrictions Length - 9.5" Width - 8" Height - 3" If it wasn't for the damn size restrictions a lot of amps would work, but as always, I have to be difficult:)
-
I hope so. The wife doesn't want massive bass or anything, just enough to compliment the rest of the system.
-
I am getting ready to try Adire. Going to order a Koda 8 for my wife's van. Going to put it under her driver's side front seat in a .35 cube box with about 200 Wrms going to it. Hopefully it should sound very nice.
