I thought about the Focals, and I may if I get a trim plate that converts my 6.5's into 5.25's which isn't that bad. I have seen the Focals used for about $65 a pop on Ebay.

Right now my system will be more of an awe factor than an actual competitor vehicle. I will have 4 Concept 2400's on a DD 9910. Have two of the amps and the sub will be getting reconed as soon as DD gets the quad coils in. One 10" sub is not very competitive but I have always wanted to break a 150 with a 10" sub in a stock setup. Of course that was on the old Term Labs and Audio Controls so it will be a wee bit harder now, but I am up for the challenge!

More pics please, but the top looks good so far:)

I am on there a few times, Wohoo! I hope this site can stay up. I wonder how much bandwidth it is sucking up though.

I must admit that sub opening is mad jigsaw skills. Since I can't do it that good, that is why I use a router:)

Well, other than the hearing issue I will always have a nasty case of tintinus. Maybe they will develope ear replacements in the future. As for physical injuries just cuts and bruises from panels, little strands of wire sticking into the tips of fingers, slicing myself applying Dynamat Xtreme (very sharp edges) and a few other miscellaneous scrapes and cuts. No broken bones or anything though.

Can anyone else get into their website? Mine just keeps giving me a blank white screen when I get a few clicks into it. http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/

Thanks, didn't think it was on my end, but wasn't sure.

Pretty good. I chuckled.

Metering an amp
Peteyglad replied to hilton's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can do it that way, but it isn't very accurate. That formula takes into account the ohm load of the sub at that certain frequency which without specialized tools you just can't figure out. -
The Xo-8's go for around $110. So they are a little more than a Koda. Wonder how it compares though in terms of performance.

Anyone have their website? Any idea if they are still in business? Looking to see what they have for subs now. Our shop tried a few of them last year and they were decent.

The Pathenon is was what I was thinking when I threw in the conventional part:) Also, I was thinking Linear, preferabbly verified by Dumax or some other accepted testing device.

Here are my babies fr the end of the 04 to 05 season. They are a pair of dB Drive Platinum 10's that are dual 2 ohm. Should be well with about 2k of power of each one. They seemed great for the price and build quality looks decent. Having the box made as we speak. Will get to do some tests with a little power on my Linear X this Saturday (my MECA setup) and get some tests done at the Hurricane Relief show on Sunday (hopefully) with the Audio Control 190. Not going to put the Concepts to the subs yet because of my stock electrical system. I will update everyone when I get some numbers. Anyone have any experience with the dB Drive Platinum's?

That is the resonant of the car. The box tuning depends on the size of the box. It could be anywhere from 42 Hz up to 52 Hz. Any idea on how big you box will be?
-
The tuning of most mid size cars is roughly 52 Hz give or take 1 or 2.

150 watts RMS, 300 watts maximum. 88db sensitivity. 4 ohm impedance All I could come up with so far. Will keep looking.

Usually I lay out the system I want, then save up for each piece of equipment. I try to find the best deals on the pieces I want, but do not say to myself "ok, I can't spend over this amount. It is slower this way, but have done this quite a few times. Come to think of it, I have never bought more than one piece ata time. I have never gone into a shop and gotten a sub and amp or any combination.

Ok, here it is subwoofer cone area = 113 sq inches subwoofer excursion = 2.56" linear p-p (32 mm 1 way) multiply those 2 and get 289.28 cubic inches divide that by 1728 (cubic inches in a cubic foot) and get .167 cubic feet I think I have the calcs correct but not 100% positive.

Digital Audio...
Peteyglad replied to Trixter's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
No personal experience with Digital Audio, but I have used the Directed amps and have been pleased with them. So chaulk up another vote for directed. -
The displacement on the 12" MT is .19 and I know the XXX is a tad smaller so I would say the .15 is pretty close.

Rice Ass female doges is very funny. My favorite is the skit before it, the Dating Service Skit. That is funny as hell.

You guys all have WAY too many tools. I wish I had half of that stuff. I have a jigsaw, cordless drill and that is it!. I would love a few other things like Circular Saw, Plunge Router, Table Saw, Electric brad nailer and a few other choice tools.

Here is their brochure if anyone is interested. I am looking at the XO8. Might give the Koda a run for its money. Not sure on any prices yet though. I asked for them today.
