    Incorrect Color Terminals?

Too late now. I took Supa_c's advice and used a sharpie to color the negative terminal black. I think you can still tell because the black is not as bold. Can't get a picture of it though, because I've already installed the sub. Thanks for the follow up though Scott.

    Took the plunge

Getting me 12" Q installed today. Running off an old Memphis 1000D. Plan to upgrade to a sundown saz-1500 once I get enough money to make the switch.

    Incorrect Color Terminals?

Got my 12" Q in today. As I was admiring its' beauty, I noticed that it had 3 red terminals and 1 black. Shouldn't there be 2 Black (-) and 2 Red (+)? May be a dumb question, but this should have no affect on playability should it?

    Sealed or Ported

Don't want to lose the back seat, so it looks like sealed will be the way to go. Thanks for all the input.

    Sealed or Ported

My 12" Q should be delivered tomorrow according to UPS. I'm trying to decide on either a sealed or ported box to go under the rear seat of my Extended Cab Silverado. I've never run a sealed enclosure in my past 2 setups, and I'm skeptical as to whether I will be satisfied with the output of one. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I still may go with the BP option, cause after some further reading I'm considering upgrading my memphis amp to a sundown 1500D (What's a good price for this amp?). I'll have to run the setup underpowered @ 1000x1 for a few months until I've got the money for a new amp. That shouldn't be an issue should it? I've never been one to settle for the lower end line of anything. So I'd prefer to get all the bells and whistles. I guess I had the answer to my original question before I even asked it. Will do. Planning on stopping by to discuss with my local installer later this week/weekend. Just wanted to get some "professional" opinions from you guys first. Any ball park estimates on what a box might cost for such an application?
  7. Ok this is a repost from yesterday, but I never received any responses. So i am reposting in the technical section. I currently have a Memphis 1000D left over from a previous setup (4 - memphis PR 12"s) in a blazer. I have since sold that vehicle, but still have the amp and speakers laying around. After learning about Fi Audio and reading more and more about them over the past week. I am interested in purchasing one 12" Q to go under the rear seat of my 05 Ext Cab GMC Sierra. I want to use the existing amp to power the sub. If my memory serves me correct, it is capable of 1100x1 RMS Power @ 1 Ohm Mono (14.4V). I'm wondering if I should add the BP option to the sub to allow for future changes to my setup (ie. addition of another 12" Q and 2400D, etc.)? I'm also looking for any suggestions on a box design/size as well. I know subthump sells a single sealed down firing 12" ultra deep box for my truck that wouldn't require raising the seat. According to the specs on their site it should be fine other than it doesn't have the optimal amount of air space for a sealed enclosure (only .92 as opposed to the 1.2-1.3 suggested in the recommendations thread). I am also considering having one custom built for my application. Just looking for some suggestions/layouts/ideas. Would a sealed box be the way to go? Downfiring/Upfiring? I guess I'm looking more for SQ. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
