I have no idea if it has any value at all but back in december i posted my nightshade v1 motor the top slug had cracked in half and locked the sub up.. If anyone is interested in buying this let me know.
-
I have no idea.. i dont recall being in a tremendous wreck or anything .. lol.. i figured if something like that happened it would com apart where the slugs are glued together.. its absolutely amazing that a solid piece is what broke..
-
I havent been on the forums for a long time.. too long.. haven thad time to compete in a while either but I have been using my 18'' nightshade and 2 saz1500s for my daily system untill the other day it just quit working.. I pushed in on the cone only to realize that it was completely locked up... odd but it happens... so i took the woofer out of the enclosure to find the top sulg on the motor had complete broken in half and was off center.. iv never seen this happen so i figured id share... its a sad day as i cannot afford a new motor in the near future...

interesting enclosure.. i have contemplated something similar to deal with my alignment issues... -
we always just put tight bond glue between the pieces when they are bing screwed together then go around the seams inside with a good bead of liquit nails.. never failed me or any of my teamates.

Thinking about getting a small to midsize Japanese car, reccomendation
SUNDOWN/FI BEATIN replied to deernet's topic in Automotive and Performance
quite frankly if your looking for a tuner car that your gonna modify to get more power and... your concerned about gas milege... hell youd be just the same to drive a flippin suv.. i know of a lot of small japanese cars that will only get about 25mpg best in the city without hotrodding it all over the place.. personally id rather have the extra room over a couple mpgs.... and after owning a used volvo i will never ever buy a used european car again.. if i cant afford to buy a new one i just wont buy one.. -
Foaming doors for spl competition
SUNDOWN/FI BEATIN replied to shizzzon's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
i wouldnt go on and do that... the way im reading the rules for MECA you can do a buildout up to 3/4'' thick... however sprafoam, resins and stuff are done by the general deadening rules which isnt very thick.. -
Newbie Electrical Help
SUNDOWN/FI BEATIN replied to nick9892's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I run my stock alt with 1 run of 1/0 to a battery bank for 4 group 31 batts in the back.. i dont run an extra voltage meter.. never have in any of my setups... .. adding an extra battery gives you more reserve capacity on your charging circuit.. a major upgrade that i plan on doin is competing the charging circuit by running a ground front to back... -
Wanting to put 4 mids and 4 tweeters in the door.
SUNDOWN/FI BEATIN replied to Lucky 76's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
probably one of my favorite mid/highs setups that iv seen in an spl vehicle are eric alexanders.. im not sure what he uses but it lookel ike i think 4 8s in each door and some kind of tweeters .. i mean as far as sq goes it wouldnt be good but it was deffinately loud and "CLEAR"... -
Hifonics brutus BRZ 1200.1 or Sundown SAZ 1000.1
SUNDOWN/FI BEATIN replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
yeah i would go with the saz 1000 over the hifonics... the ability to strap amps... and if you were competing you could wire down to a lower impedence.. but most of all customer support is the seller... -
personal opinion ditch the slot port box and pick up a 6'' aero.. about 35$ .. is much easier to play with tuning and port placement..
-
i love running expernal aeros for my spl/ daily system due to ease of tuning... for your application id say a single 4 would be fine... will probably have some port noise but under the back seat you probably wont hear it.... PORT Size Calculations and Formulas for WOOFER and Subwoofer BOXES this is a good calculator for aeros.... looks like if you going for around 34hz with a single 4'' it will be about a foot long... and of corse gets shorter for higher tuning..
