Just as the title states... Who wins in terms of SQ? In my eyes, the prices are comparable, and I've heard good about both. I'm leaning towards going with the USamps XT series over the GTO's... One major issue that shouldn't be so major is the looks... The GTO's a gawdy, and the XT's are plain & simple. Any thoughts or input on the comparison?

Just looking for a decent converter in the under $100 range. If it's rack-mount, it must have rear in/out.

I'm down near Evansville, and I'll be in Indianapolis this weekend... You can come check out the 'Hoe, and it's bumpin' OEM system.

Is it really a bug, or one of those annoying things on the data entry portion, that has to be handled meticulously to show up correct?

Sean told me about it on FullSizeChevy.com

What version of WinAmp are you using? Select the album, select the tracks, and then "Enqueue". You would just have to play them in order to keep the albums together. -

I don't know of anything off the top of my head... Best advise I could give would be to manually randomize the albums. Slow, tedious, and not really what you're looking for, but it's all I can think of at the moment. If you're not needing this right away, you're using Windows, and all your files are tagged correctly, I could probably write a small app to modify an existing playlist like this, and then you would just play it without shuffle on. -
I'm still looking for a nice project to use a pair of those! Paired up with one of PE's ButtKicker amps, it'd be some interesting DIY/budget bass!

First day of the semester here... Standing outside the class beforehand, and little cutie walks up to me, smiles, and then proceeds to say, "Excuse me, sir, do you know where room 2045 is?" I think it's time for me to finish up the schooling, whenever chicks start calling me sir!

Do the Havocs (namely 18"s) prefer to be ported or sealed. Or are they at home in either enclosure?
-
Not as of the moment, but I will at one point and time...

I've got a pair of RS225-4's sitting in the shop, begging for a project. I was originally going to put them in the door panels of the truck, but have decided on a different route for that ride, and something totally different for the Tahoe, so I'm stuck with extra parts, and IMO nice ones at that! My budget would love to stay under $50 per tweet. I'll then move on to pestering for crossover info! Large format is perfectly acceptable, and actually preferred. I haven't decided on what type of enclosure this will be, but more than likely, it'll turn out to be ported.

What is the enclosure made of? MDF... F/G... etc... ???

And that Formaldehyde is so good for you too!

Tinkering is my specialty! Well, besides...

Just looking to see what the recommended sealed enclosure for a MLI-65 would be.

Screwing and not gluing could cause air leaks... The subfloor grade plywood would not be my first choice in a build either. Find out the model on his sub as well.

Sean (///M5) pointed me over here from fullsizechevy.com. I keep coming back here just to see his sig! Just some background info if anyone is interested... I've got a '99 Tahoe (4-door 4wd) and a '96 2wd Chevy reg cab pickup. I'm planning on drops for both and new "systems" for both. I've gotten into the DIY lines of speakers, and have became a Parts Express junkie. I'm a computer programmer by profession, and have an actual cabinet shop in my front yard, so I piddle around there most nights, making MDF rings and all types of other "things" for cars, boats, and trucks... Nothing major, but just a hobby. The Tahoe should hopefully be getting a computer installed this winter, once I make my new center console to house a touchscreen. That should be an interesting project!

You want audio? This is pretty flippin' crazy!

What would it take to get that setup into my reg. cab pickup? -
Much of it can have to do with the TYPE of plywood. IMO, a good high-cored ply is just as good as MDF... But then again, using 5/8", you're losing an 1/8" of strength as well as mass on the box, meaning, there's a good chance that his box is "flexing" more, which is bad. So all-in-all, to answer your question... It could be the problem, but without more info on the setups, a definite answer can't really be given. Simply going off of power handling doesn't give much info. His sub may be like a Type R, and thrive in large ported enclosures and suffer horribly in sealed. It may need a bigger/smaller enclosure.

In comparison to what I had before, the MTM's I threw together are far superior. I've only began the actual tone testing of the speakers, and the weaknesses are starting to show. The $32 was well worth it to me to get them up and going, and they will probably remain in the shop for testing new setups after I get a better crossover for the current setup. As Sean said, go with something that's been tested already. Most of my builds for myself come out of pure curiousity... Some have turned out well, and as expected, others haven't... If you don't have the time and money then your best bet is to go with a tested and respected design... Now if someone could just give me that speech!

First time around? Like there wouldn't be a wild hair appear in my butt and they wouldn't get changed again? LOL... I looked at them again tonight, and I'm thinking that may be my easiest/best solution to begin with.

For that price, I'll go cheap active!

How new are you looking, and what kind of price range are you looking?

You may look over on www.grandamgt.com... Seems like someone had some specs on box dimensions on there. Also, is the '98 the same body as a '99? Seems like '99 was the first year on the newer body style. If it's the same, I may be able to get you some dimensions tonight. (my sis has a '99 GAGT)
