  1. Hey guys! I’m wanting to turn one of my car subs into a home sub just for music and movies. I was wondering what’s the best way to go about this? I don’t have a box for the sub so I guess id have to get one made from someone off of craigslist. What kind of specs should it have or anything that I should have required done to the box? Such as a port & air space. I’m not sure how either sub would work with the receiver I have. So please let me know which sub you think would be best match for the receiver. I don’t know much about this stuff so all help is appreciated. I do not want to spend much this lol. Thanks! What I have to work with: - Alpine Type R 12” Sub - Model SWR-12D4 OR - Alpine Type S 12” Sub – Model SWS-12D4 - As a receiver I have Denon AVR-3803 Receiver - I have two computer speakers that I am happy with, as they are very loud. 2. Hey guys, I’ve had this system for the past three months and I’m not very fond of it.. Especially the Kicker Sub. It doesn’t hit hard at all and with some low bass songs it sounds like I may be using a little boom box. I was wondering if the system that I have set up should be sounding great or if what I’m getting is expected from this kicker sub. In my old truck I had an Alpine type S 12” amped, not sure if my expectations are too high. Also with my amped Alpine Type R speakers I’m not getting any bass what so ever. Was wondering if that’s normal or if the guy I had set my system up tuned the speaker amp wrong. I have a Chevy Silverado 2008 Crew Cab. The sub is under the passenger seat on the driver side. I know it maybe hard to understand what I’m trying to explain with the quality of the sub, sorry! I just hoped for the money I spent I’d be getting at least as good bass as I didn’t from the type s. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Also if you think what I’m getting out of the kicker is expected any suggestions on a better shallow sub would be great! But I’m not looking to spend more then $450 on a sub & box, hopefully it could use the same amp I have now. I’ve heard Sun Down and polk have some shallow subs but not sure which models and what box to use or custom needed . Listed below is my system: Kicker 12CX600.1 Mono subwoofer amplifier - 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HercrqLBKef/p_2062CX6001/Kicker-12CX600-1.html#overview-tab Kicker 40TCWS104 Ported truck enclosure -with one 4-ohm 10" CompS subwoofer http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5ZO0W1LshgO/p_206TCWS104/Kicker-40TCWS104.html#details-tab 4g amp kit scosche 6-channel line output converter with bass restoration -add amps to your factory system http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cmTwBa3iA6H/p_161LC7IW/AudioControl-LC7i-White.html Alpine MRX-F65 - 4-channel amplifier — 110 watts RMS x 4 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GTIp81Jye7j/p_500MRXF65/Alpine-MRX-F65.html Alpine SPR-60 -Type-R 6-3/4" 2-way car speakers http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rhThVV5U2S1/p_500SPR60/Alpine-SPR-60.html
  3. Thanks for your reply. Makes sense which sucks because that's the box the sub came with and about the biggest box that'll fit in my truck I guess. Not much I can do about the sub. What do you think about the speakers situation?
  4. I need help choosing an amplifier for a Kicker CVT 10 that I’m going to purchase soon. But if one 10 isn’t good enough for me I was planning on getting a second one. So what I was wondering is if there is a sub that I can start out with and give it the power the one sub requires and also if I were to wire up a second CVT 10 to the amp, also have those two subs well powered. I’d like to get the most out of my sub(s). So if someone could please advise me on this! I have had a suggestion of getting a Kicker CX600.1. (new model). Which is 4 ohms: 300 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 600 watts x 1 chan. TheKicker CVT 10 is RMS: 400 Peak: 800 The reason why I’m getting such a small sub is because I need a shallow sub for my 08 Silverado Crew cab. The sub(s) would go under the back seats. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

Please list the model number or link to it Also I`m not sure if I should get one or two amps, one for the speakers and one for the sub? I`d like to buy the amplifier from Best Buy sense I have a gift card. So please help me pick out an amp off of bestbuy.com Thanks!
