They feel real similar but this problem worked itself out they move together nicely again.. who knows
-
I dont know uf ill be able to make it out to the show today but if i can ill try.... They seem to be working better now , maybe working in at different times ?
-
Well i'm not sure what it was but im gonna guess it was just the subs working in at different times cause they are moving a lot more in phase now and output has increased to what it was at before .. .. .. and I changed nothing ?? ehehhee Oh well, maybe I was just crazy, or not ?,, now if I could get my van to stop going to 15.2+ Volts hehehe
-
yeah i live in toronto but im in mississauga often,, ill definatly be down for test and tune PM me some details

The Recones Came today and look to be in good shape Thanks scott Just gotta find out whats up with the subs moving outta phase sorta

On Music they sound incredible, they are lacking on filling in somewhere over say 60hz but i dont want them playing there anyways im getting more mid drivers for the doors soon, and I cant blame the subs for this I do have them tuned at 25Hz @ 16.8CuFt , but wow do these things ever play down deep ! The only pair of subs i have owned that can set off someones house alarm on music with 1200Watts hahahha. Hence the Burp at 36Hz @ 143.7dB's Im thinking of changin it up a little and making a newer set of boxes, one for SPL and one 15.9CuFt @ 28.5Hz just to make it a little more music friendly on filling in the Hi-Fi sound and shrink the box down its massive haahah. Over all though awesome subs ! Scott is it possible that one sub can work in faster then the other ? I dont kow if you have read my other threads about the speakers both working just not in sync like they used to be,, i cant find any air leaks in the box .... Thanks and i'll let you know if those recones dont show up

Both of the subs are the same distance from the port and in parallel both move in the same direction with the battery test. Both move up positive to positive and negative to negative.

Is it possible a Mono amp can be broken causing the subs to move slightly different even though its one channel being Driven.. i cant remember the value i was getting i think it was 2.2 or 2.3 ohms per coil and they were all the exact same, then loaded down series coils parallel the subs 2.2ohm Was my final reading on the VMM They are moving a lil more it looks like one is a lil more delayed then the other ( speaker wire is snug and length's are very similar, basically nothing has changed from when it wasent doing this to when it is.. You think its possible one sub is more worked in then the other, ? The sound has changed a lil but a lil less smooth as opposed to better , , it was getting much smoother before this happened

Hey guys So here goes Have my two Fi Q18's off a JBL BP1200.1 When i first installed them they moved in phase perfectly it was actually awesome to watch ! Now they dont and output is down noticably, So.. .. I pulled each speaker out of the box and checked for physical damage, none, no burnin smell AT ALL and no loose glue that I can see, second i Tested each speaker on its own, works fine, i checked coils, fine they all show up the same. Im runnin dual 2 ohm in series parallel and am getting 2.2Ohms on the VMM for my final load , fine.. Speakers were making a funny noise sort of a raspy sound right after they stopped working in phase... Unhooked em right away , checked, hooked em back up individually , That sound is completely gone now, i was told by some pro's at the show that was probably my amp cause i was running it hard at the SPL show and probably killed it ehehe.... Either way fast forward to now, they are both hooked up, still loud louder then when they orginally sounded different, but not in phase,, (YES I HAVE CHECKED POLARITY 5 TIMES) So basically songs (Example ,, " Bad Boy Bill - Live behind the decks - A Bit Patchy " ) That you you used to be able to see the subs move perfectly in phase dont look in phase anymore and are a lil quieter and not as clean sounding,,, i know it probably seems like i'm repeated myself in this over and over again just dont know how else to explain it... Any ideas,, I havent been able to hook em up to a different amp yet ,, I just tried hooking each one and the pair to 1 AA battery for just a second and both react accordingly (speaker pushes out) im getting confused now ... If my amp was on its way out could it cause this ?

Oh and Scott, Where are the Re-Cones ? hehehhe i still havent gotten them yet ....
-
Nope its in a 93' Grand Caravan SE Both back seats Removed, box is huge ,, hehehe the angle makes it look smaller, figure the dimensions are 46" x 25.5" x 35.5" I should have my Directed Viper d2500.1 (2500Watts RMS) fixed for the next show in a 18CuFt box tuned to probably 47Hz Im gonna burp these babies good ehehhe, but with the box im running now music just sounds incredible ! Im hoping for 148+ next time

Hey guys, I was out at a local SPL 2x Show here and ran my Q 18's Off my JBL BP1200.1 in a 16.8CuFt box Tuned to 25Hz (Its made for LSQ not SPL My highest was a 143.7dB @ 36Hz !! Taking 1st in Street Max 1-2 NW And in bass Race I was competing in the semi finals and finished in 3rd with an average of 134.7 in the 139.9 runs It was awesome, i love these subs they are bottom end beasts... Next show in sept im gonna try an SPL box for em to see how they do tuned higher with more power.. I cooked my JBL on the Last run hehehhehe
-
WOW' these subs are awesome, i dont know how else to describe them,, I settled on 16.8CuFt at 25.x Hz and its a bottom end beast. Im going to a local show tomorrow to get it metered, ill try to get video and pictures up Set off some dudes house alarm driving by hehehe

I googled Exodus Audio, and came to the conclusion that they're the same guys as Acoustic Vision, who are on SSA too. Am I right? Anyway, the price for the XJ-12 is great, but the sub is only available in Dual 8 ohm, which means I would have to buy a new amp, which I'm not willing to do right now. Reconing the Dual 2 ohm Brahma I have, I can use an amp I already have available. Also, I'm pretty set on having Scott see what he can do with the Brahma. If it ends up being some sort of Fi/Adire Hybrid, I'm all for it. I am expecting my recone kits for two Adire Audio Brahma 12" Dual 2ohms today in the mail actually, ill tell you how they are ! One is an MK1 one is an MKII but both have the same motor geometry according to scott..
