SEALED REAR CHAMBER BP ENCLOSURE (4TH ORDER)
ricksi30 replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
When you have to build the enclosure in one compartment and transfer the output to another, like a sealed trunk into the cabin of a vehicle. That is really the only reason that I can see for using a bp in a vehicle. We'll see what the experts say though... -
They accepted the offer?! Congrats Steve!

help me out. I want something like the Mc Donald arches..Somthing that when seen you KNOW its Direct sound solutions. I can build a hell of a box but my artistic abilty is lacking. It' sbeen over a decade since I delt with visual arts Oh trust me I can't do better but I think that it can be better. I know that you take a lot of pride in your brand and would like to see other options. Maybe Stefan can do something? And again this is just me, try to get a few designs and make a poll maybe? my main issue is learning curve with the programs. I can sling out stuff on paper like no body's business. Getting it to work in adobe is my down fall. I just don't have the experienc ewith the programs Put what you are thinking on paper and have someone translate it into a computer rendering. I've seen your art, and know that you are capable of some cool stuff. -

I don't really like it, of course that is just my opinion though. -
Opinions on Rockford p3 compared to sundown SA
ricksi30 replied to Stephen93s10's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Seriously? That is very unheard of in this industry. -
Agreed. Invest in good processing and raw drivers, and achieve more for less. Have I tried or heard them...no. So take my comment for what it's worth.
-
I haven't ever tried any, but probably would.....if you are being serious.

I'm kind of a big pussy with most bugs though haha

DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs

NICE! -
my system hits harder when its raining! any explanation?
ricksi30 replied to gsWes's topic in General Audio
That would probably be why. Raining vs not raining with all else equal would be placebo as Sean said. -
Port area, length, and box volume are the only factors that determine enclosure tuning.

SSA Xcon purchase 3/30/13 - receive 5-31-13 - broke 7-20-13 - promise

And you can remove the dust cap and continue to use it if that helps at all. -
Should be +65 here lol. I am hating this warm winter here, but you can keep the negative numbers.

You don't need a lot of power to get loud. You can get a damn loud sub setup on 750 or less.
-
And they didn't sell their name, they changed it.
-
Three subs that do well sealed that I have had great experiences with are the SSA Gcon, Icon, and Xcon. Any of the three will get you what you want, but the higher in the line you go the more power they will take. Another option that I would consider is a single ported 12.

What are your maximum usable dimensions in your trunk? Ultimately what do you want to achieve?
-
What is your budget for the sub/subs, amp, and enclosure?
-
Have you invested in any equipment yet?
